Chapter One #2
River’s palms smoothed up Stellar’s thighs as he moved to kneel between Stellar’s spread knees.
His beautiful green gaze flipped upward as he pushed Stellar’s shirt up and kissed his stomach.
Stellar’s shirt melted away in a single thought.
River placed open-mouth kisses on his midsection as he made his way to the waistband of Stellar’s leather pants.
A dark, shadowy figure with no discernible features stood leaning against the magical wall that kept him imprisoned nearby.
It didn’t matter that Stygian had no face.
Stellar knew he watched. He felt Stygian’s power grow as he stared, tortured by the power crackling in air.
Stellar fed from pleasure and Stygian’s torment.
The power that bled from the two acts had him sparkling like never before.
He hadn’t been fed, but the sexual energy in the room was still enough to light up any common fairy of the vicinity.
River unbuttoned Stellar’s pants and slid his zipper down.
Stellar’s lips parted as the promise of pleasure rose.
“Yeah, you should definitely give me this show.”
As much as Stellar didn’t want to obey, his body didn’t care. The fairy on his knees came from the power of water. They were always the best cocksuckers.
The tip of River’s finger ran the length of Stellar’s erection.
A wicked chuckle rumbled from the black hole that was Stygian. “Good boy.”
Stellar panted in his anticipation. In his mind, he saw the shadow clinging to him, bobbing on Stellar’s dick. It was his imagination, so he felt everything Stygian did. Pre-cum ran down his cock. He loved a fresh fantasy.
Stellar leaned forward and captured River’s mouth, giving River the powers he would have received if he continued.
He pulled away, still clinging to River’s face.
River looked dazed. “Thank you. I’ve got it from here.
” He swiped his lips across River’s mouth once more.
“You’ll be greatly rewarded. Please enjoy the rest of the day off. ”
River stood and bowed. “It was a pleasure, my lord.”
Stellar dipped his chin, setting the fairy free.
He didn’t fix his pants. This show was for Stygian, after all.
While Stygian might be a dark fae born from unnatural dark magic, he still fed the same way Stellar did: sexual acts.
The potent energy filled their cells with life.
Stellar couldn’t let his prisoner starve, but neither could he free him.
The dark fae came from acts of evil. He couldn’t be trusted to walk among civilized society.
Stellar couldn’t stop himself from doing his best to vex Stygian.
“I can feel your gratification, so I’ll assume you’re well-fed now.”
“But not satisfied. You should keep going.”
Stellar snorted. “You are in prison after all. It’s not supposed to be satisfying.”
“Mhmm.” Stygian sounded beyond skeptical. “I didn’t hear you say you don’t want to keep going for me. You could keep me in a magical box anywhere. Yet you chose your bedroom. I think you’d like to fuck me more than you let on.”
The desire to roll his eyes was thick. “You’re exceptionally overconfident for a man with no body to fuck. As much as I’d love to try something new, sex with the air sounds kind of boring.”
Another evil laugh tumbled from the darkness. “Once again, you didn’t say you don’t want me. I’ll take that as a compliment.”
Stellar opened his mouth to disabuse Stygian of any such belief.
His personal guard, Taurus, arrived. He moved at a clipped pace. The long, fiery hair that matched his personality glowed more than usual with unnatural light. Truth be told, it wasn’t unnatural at all. Taurus was a fire fairy.
“I just saw River on his way out. You know you’re not to be completely alone when I’m not here. How do you expect me to keep you safe—” His gaze dropped to Stellar’s lap and exposed cock.
“He sent River away after getting his dick sucked.”
At Stygian’s nonchalant-sounding comment, Stellar fought a sigh. Now he had done it. He was an evil bastard, after all. Stellar fixed his clothes.
The glow from Taurus’ hair grew brighter. His yellow eyes glowed with fury. Stellar felt the heat radiating from him.
Stellar held up his hand, stopping Taurus before he even started. “Before you blast me, I changed my mind before anything happened.” He paused. He had to make a caveat. “Which, by the way, you should appreciate, considering how starved I am. No one could find you.”
Taurus dimmed a hair. His expression swapped from rage-filled to worried. “I didn’t realize you needed to feed that badly. You know I never would’ve left the castle if I had known. I’ve been shoring up the borders where Bodhi has been trying to blast his way in.”
Guilt washed over him. Fairies needed sex to survive.
There were times his needs grew heavier than others.
It was his age. Sometimes his body needed more fuel than the younger bunch.
Not to mention he was more powerful than most. That, too, required more than others.
He shouldn’t feel guilty about anything.
Sex was rarely personal for their species.
This was different. It was Taurus. Stellar had always felt too much for his guard and personal food source.
Stellar stood. He closed the distance between them. His palms slid across Taurus’ hips before he towed Taurus closer. Stellar held his gaze and lowered his voice, keeping their conversation personal. “I didn’t touch him.”
“Not true. He kissed him.”
Taurus’ hair got brighter again—like a relit match.
Goddamn, maybe he did need to move Stygian elsewhere.
“You’re not my mate. I don’t own you.”
Maybe, but Stellar felt the pain Taurus hid behind anger. It seemed as if he hurt Taurus more than usual lately. Stellar didn’t understand what had changed, but something had.
“Are you still willing to kiss this not your mate?” Stygian was forgotten. Taurus had his full attention.
Taurus didn’t respond. He kissed Stellar.
His fire always consumed Stellar. This was why Stellar only fed elsewhere if Taurus was completely unavailable.
Nothing matched his passion. He always burned Stellar to the ground.
Stellar was still hungry. As their tongues played, Stellar massaged Taurus’ erection through his leather pants.
Damn. He was glad he had been somewhat patient this morning. This was a meal.
The sound of a throat clearing cut through the haze Taurus created. “Sorry to interrupt, my lord. You’re late for today’s court.”
A low growl vibrated from Stellar. He didn’t want to be the dutiful royal today. Stellar swiped another kiss across Taurus’ lips. “We’ll pick this up later.”
“Yes, my lord.” The softly spoken words sounded breathless, making Stellar twice as angry about leaving.
He tore himself away before he reached a point where he couldn’t. Stellar walked away without looking back. Taurus was too much of a temptation, and he was still too much of a man on the edge. If he looked, he would stay.
A nearby clock ticked. That was the only sound that penetrated his brain. Taurus stared at nothing. He hadn’t moved from the spot where Stellar had left him. His wings glowed so brightly, they were almost blinding.
“You’re old news to him. You know that, right? He’s bored with you. That’s why he asked for someone else.”
Taurus loathed the way his hair and eyes gave away his anger. But anger was easier than accepting Stygian was right. He didn’t turn and give Stygian the satisfaction of seeing his rage. His sparkling wings likely masked the glow from his hair.
Stygian didn’t quit. “He wants me, but I have no body to give him. That’s why he uses people in front of me. He never looks away from me. I can see the way he pretends it’s me.”
Taurus really loathed this guy. Stellar should never have brought the dark one into their lives. There were better ways Stellar could have kept him locked away. Unfortunately, Taurus knew exactly why he hadn’t. Every word Stygian said was the truth.
“You know nothing about our relationship. Sex is food to us. You’re merely watching him eat. That’s all you see.”
“Mhmm. I get the feeling the only reason you believe that is because you know I’m stating facts. Maybe my words aren’t what you want to hear. The truth rarely cares about your feelings.”
Taurus wished he had his wits about him so he could slash Stygian with his tongue. Between Stellar’s kisses and the hurt in his chest, Taurus couldn’t think. He just stood in frozen silence, trying to hang on to his pride.
“You know, there’s one way you can spice things up.”
The snort that burst from Taurus was epic.
Stygian’s utter bullshit finally gave Taurus what he needed to face him.
He turned. “Surely you don’t think you have any suggestions for me.
You’re a newly born fae. A dark one at that.
Not only have you not been alive as long as I have, but your entire existence is unnatural.
The moment Stellar finds a way to destroy you, he will.
You don’t belong in our world or any world.
You were never meant to exist.” Taurus hated that he couldn’t see an expression to tell if his words had hit their mark.
When Stygian didn’t respond, Taurus squared his shoulders.
A golden halberd appeared in his hand. It was made of the fiercest of fairy magic.
The piece was unbreakable and would disappear if anyone else touched the weapon.
Gold and silver armor replaced his clothes with a single thought.
“Now, if you’re done speaking lies, I’m due to protect my prince.” He didn’t wait to find out if Stygian had more to say. Stellar needed him to watch his back.
