Chapter Massio
MASSIO
How the fuck do I tell her I didn’t love my wife? But I thought I did? And that ex-wife is none other than her mother?
How do I tell her that? Because I need to, and soon.
This is going to come out sooner or later, and when it does, it’s going to be catastrophic.
I park the SUV and take a deep breath before turning to face her, but she unclips the seatbelt and hops out, not giving me a chance to open my mouth.
Unable to help myself, I drop my forehead head to the steering wheel and close my eyes.
She looked gutted. The need to make everything all right and reassure her floods me.
My girl is hurting, so I need to prove to her I’m going to be worth the fight.
“Jesus, fuck, you idiot, go after her,” I grumble.
I throw open the SUV door and rush up the stone stairs after her, but the moment I step foot inside the foyer, my world comes crashing down around me.
“Massio!” A shrill voice sends a nostalgic wave of nausea through me, flooding my bloodstream like poison. “How nice to see you again,” she purrs.
