Chapter 27 #3
Tobias didn’t need to be told twice. He was desperate.
His trousers slipped off with ease, left in a crumpled pile on the floor.
He stroked his cock as he straddled Alexander’s waist. With his spare hand, he reached behind him, took Alexander’s impressive length and positioned it at his entrance.
Pleasure erupted across every inch of his skin as he began lowering himself.
Every inch he took in, the sensation of it built and built, until Tobias felt as though the world would shatter.
“Little deer,” Alexander moaned, closing his eyes as ecstasy took hold. “You feel like bliss. You feel like mine.”
“I am yours,” Tobias said breathlessly as he took over and began rocking his hips. “Today, tomorrow, and every day that follows. I am yours and you are–”
Finally, the truth. If he could trust Maria, all of this would work out for the better.
“Mine,” Alexander said, his eyes still closed. “I want you to be mine forever, little deer.”
Alexander raised his ruined wrist to Tobias’ mouth, his fingers tangling through Tobias’ curls. “Drink,” he commanded.
Tobias was too weak to refuse. He would always be weak for Alexander.
He lapped up the blood on Alexander’s skin, warmth rushing through him. “This is how vampires bond for life,” Alexander said, moaning. “Sharing blood.”
Tobias stopped drinking, gently drawing Alexander’s wrist down and away.
He couldn’t let Alexander drink from him, because then Alexander would know of his betrayal.
Not only would he know Tobias was a vampire, but if the rumours were true, he’d also know that Tobias had plotted against Alexander, had used him, and that was how they’d ended up together.
Best-case scenario, Alexander would never want to see Tobias again.
“I love you,” he confessed, because it was true but also because he knew that it would distract Alexander. “I love you, Alexander Damianos. I need you to know that.”
Alexander looked up at him through hooded eyes and grabbed Tobias’ waist, moving him up and down rhythmically.
“I love you too, little deer. I suspect I’ve loved you since the minute I laid eyes on you.
I would renounce the Damianos name for you.
In fact, I do. I want you more than I’ve ever wanted this family. I’m yours.”
Tobias’ throat closed and his eyes stung. He put a hand to Alexander’s heart. “I’m going to fix this,” he whispered. “I promise.”
But Alexander’s eyes, which had fluttered shut, didn’t open again. Tobias stopped moving, a twinge of worry spiking deep in his gut. “Alexander?”
“Hmm?” came the sleepy, incoherent sound.
“Are you okay?” Tobias stopped completely. Clearly that was enough of a disappointment that Alexander came somewhat alive and reached up to grasp Tobias’ thigh.
“Please, keep going,” Alexander pleaded, his eyes still firmly shut.
Something was wrong. Terribly wrong. Alexander must have lost far more blood than Tobias had realised, because he was nearly unconscious.
In that moment, the damage that Vladimir had done to Tobias’ family in the past didn’t matter, only the damage he was causing now and would cause in the future. And it looked like Alexander was close to not having one.
Tobias slapped Alexander’s face, trying to rouse him, but he didn’t stir. Alexander needed blood, and he needed it fast.
“Alexander?” Tobias shook him, willing him to break out of this near unconsciousness. But nothing was working to rouse him.
“I’m fine…” The rest of what Alexander was trying to say trailed off.
Panic and rage overwhelmed Tobias. He thought he’d hated Vladimir before, but that was nothing compared to what he felt now. “You need to feed,” Tobias said. “You need to feed from me.”
“I think… he wanted me drained enough… to kill you,” Alexander said, his voice hoarse and deep.
His eyes were fully open now, the whites completely bloodshot.
This was the bloodlust Tobias had seen when Vladimir looked at him all those years ago, a vampire on the edge of starvation turned into nothing more than an animal.
Tobias was nothing more than a lowly human, a delicious meal, just when it was required most. Alexander looked at him with the same expression, except this time it was not a human who faced the demon.
“Father wanted to turn tonight into a lesson. He won.”
“No,” Tobias breathed. “Don’t let him win.”
He had to believe that Alexander would snap out of bloodlust before he, himself, was drained. He would have let Alexander kill him so that Alexander could live, except that that would doom the people he’d turned accidentally. His own clan. Tobias needed to live, for them and for Alexander both.
He loved Alexander. He was going to fix this.
Time slowed as Alexander reared up, snatched Tobias by the back of his neck, and pulled him down to his mouth. Alexander parted his mouth wide and sank his teeth deep into Tobias’ neck. He couldn’t have resisted if he wanted to.
Alexander Damianos began to feed, and Tobias gave up, surrendering to what was about to happen. Because blood was not the only thing Alexander would receive from this.
He would have the truth too, no matter how dark and deadly.
