The Assassin

The sun had barely shown its face before my pager was vibrating on the nightstand.

Reluctantly, I rolled over and patted the nightstand in search of my pager. Gripping it, I held it up and peered at the message through squinted eyes.

New assignment. Urgent deadline.

Damn. I’d been looking forward to a slow morning, sipping coffee on the back patio and going for a walk down the beach. All I wanted was a few more moments in paradise with no obligations or worries.

But, of course Ares just had to kill the mood.

I set the pager back down on the nightstand and rolled back over.

Simone lay on her stomach beside me. Her head rested against her forearms that were curled underneath her.

Soaked in the orange light, her brown skin glowed with an amber hue.

A natural shine glimmered over the curve of her spine and shoulder blades.

Her eyes, now cracked open and peering at me, glistened like tiny pools of honey.

“Did I wake you?” I asked, tracing my fingertips across her cheek.

“No,” she murmured, a groggy rasp in her voice. “I was, uh…I was watching you sleep.”

“You weird as shit.”

A smile spread across her face as she laughed. “I know you’re not talking Mr. Breaking and Entering.”

“My crimes were justified. What are you watching me sleep for?”

She shrugged. “You look different when you’re asleep. Your eyebrows move and your lips twitch. It’s the closest thing I see to you making a legitimate expression. At feeling something.”

“You and your fascination with my feelings,” I mused, turning onto my back. “I’m beginning to think you have a problem.”

She pushed herself up onto her forearms and moved closer, putting one elbow on either side of my head. “What can I say? I fear I may be obsessed with you.”

I cupped her face with one hand and tugged her closer. “I’m not complaining,” I whispered before her lips met mine.

Our lips moved slowly, lazily against each other.

Simone threw one of her legs over my hips and swung herself atop me. Her pussy, moistening from our kisses, sat against my dick. It twitched from the contact, already hard from the usual morning wood.

I slid my hands down her back and cupped her ass. Massaging circles into her skin, I eased her back and forth, gliding her pussy against my dick.

Simone reached down and grasped me. She swirled her essence that’d spilled over my dick around my skin.

I fidgeted underneath her, raising my hips for more.

Thankfully, Simone didn’t make me wait this time. She slid onto my dick, groaning into my mouth as she took every single inch.

Like our kisses, her thrusts were slow, lazy, as if there wasn’t anywhere else she’d rather be.

The change of pace was nice.

Time seemed to slow along with her movements, trapping us in this bubble. There was no violence. No corruption. No fear. Just us and the pleasure we were giving each other.

For a moment, I thought I never wanted it to pop. I just wanted to stay there, forever, with Simone. Riding my dick, moaning into my mouth, shoving her body so close against mine it almost felt like she was trying to climb into my skin.

I wanted her forever.

And I wished I had the right words, the courage, to tell her.

Flipping us over, I decided to let her know with the language I did have. I grabbed her hands and pinned them up over her head. With an ambush of kisses on her neck and chest, I dove deep into her, claiming every part with each thrust.

Simone hooked one leg around my waist while the other spread, giving me full access. Her head fell back against the mattress, and she pointed her chin towards the sky.

I captured her lips before she could let a sound leave her mouth. Her cries weren’t for the gods. They were for me. And I was going to consume every single one of them.

“Mateo,” she whined against my lips as I picked up my speed. Her wrists wriggled in my grasp, and I tightened my fingers around them to keep them still. Trembles rumbled through her body like an earthquake. Gasping into my mouth, she succumbed to the shakes and drenched my dick in her hot cum.

Hearing, and feeling, her submission made me let loose, meeting her with the same heat.

I slowed as we came down from our orgasms and buried my face into her neck.

Simone’s hands slid over my shoulders after I released them. Her soft palms rubbed my back, tracing over some of the scars there. “We have to leave soon, don’t we?” Simone murmured after a few moments.

“Yeah,” I sighed. “But we’ve still got some time.”

We lay like this for a little while longer, intertwined in each other’s arms, watching the sunrise wash all the shadows away.

Sooner than we liked, the room was bathing in sunlight. Reluctantly, I got off of Simone and held my hand out to help her out of bed.

We showered together and got dressed. Simone’s eyes lingered on the view beyond the balcony as we packed up the clothes we’d thrown all over the floor last night.

“Don’t worry,” I told her. “We’ll come back. Just me and you.”

She tried to fight the smile tugging at her lips, looking away as she ultimately lost the battle.

I followed behind Simone as we padded down the steps, our bags in my hands. While Simone went into the kitchen, I continued into the living room.

Maria was sitting on the couch with her laptop resting on her legs. She glanced up from the screen at the sound of my footsteps. Y’all done already? She signed.

Rolling my eyes, I walked around the couch and peeked over her shoulder. “Anything interesting about this new assignment?” I asked.

She shook her head. Corrupt white collar boss. Easy pickings.

“Hm,” I hummed, my eyes drifting to the doorway leading into the kitchen.

Maria plucked my bicep. Don’t get any bright ideas. It’s a rush job for a reason. The man’s become a mole for the cops, and his acquaintances need him dead before he leads them into a trap.

“If he squealed, then he’s harmless. She’s dealt with worse.”

Have you counted how many times she’s kicked your ass? I’m not worried about her handling herself. Maria’s lips fell into a stern frown. The instructions say to disguise it as a suicide. Are you sure she can pull that off?

Simone could do anything she put her mind to, I believed that. But, killing a man in cold blood? That was a whole different ball game. One I was still unsure she really wanted to play in.

But she’s been chomping at the bit for her chance to step in the field. It was finally time to give it to her.
