Epilogue
The machine roars around me as I step into its core. It claws at my body.
All around me, the seals crack like eggshells.
The gears clank and clash, shuddering violently as the machine breaks.
The ghosts drift past me in a burst of light as the machine collapses.
The estate exhales and falls silent for the first time in decades.
I am finally just another whisper in the halls.
You, my guests, will awaken to the house no longer hungry.
The ghosts dance through the halls, no longer prisoners. Some step out into the sunlight, gazing at the world that has moved on without them.
A few of the ghosts chose to stay in the home they have become so familiar with. Guarding the estate no longer out of obligation. Not bound, but lingering.
The Venom Estate hopes you enjoyed your stay.
