Ilona
“Okay, you always look good, but today you look amazing.”
Bev’s mouth hung open as she walked into the bookstore. She wriggled her brows suggestively, raking her eyes over my form. I tugged my form-fitting, black mini skirt lower over my sheer tights and smiled, almost embarrassed that my monumental effort to look good was so obvious.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just wanted to look a bit more put-together today. I had some extra time this morning.” I could see the hunger of curiosity growing in Bev’s eyes from across the room.
She raced over to the counter, planting her palm on the top and hoisting herself up. She flopped her ass right in front of me, causing the whole desk to shake in protest. I looked around, praying a customer would walk in before she asked what her eyes were preparing to say.
“So who’s the lucky guy? I bet I know him.” She turned towards me, crossing her legs and fully sitting on top of the desk, the flimsy piece of furniture swaying with her movements. “Oh, oh, wait. Let me guess. It has to be one of the skaters. Jeremy? Ryan? No…Ben?!”
I had to squeeze my eyes shut to keep them from rolling to the back of my head. If I didn’t tell her now, she would take the entire remaining hours of my shift and name off every breathing man on Earth.
“Larz.” Just saying her name made my skin tingle and my stomach flutter. My chest tugged with the familiar pull. I couldn’t help the smile forming at the corner of my lips, laying this small claim on her felt nice.
Bev went silent for the first time in history.
She just stared at me like she was trying to decipher a riddle.
Uncertainty crackled around me, closing in and squeezing my lungs with anxiety.
I didn’t care what other people thought, but sharing a place of employment with someone who might be homophobic made my skin crawl.
“Larz?” She finally broke the silence, sliding off the desk and standing uncomfortably close to me. Did anyone ever teach her about personal space? Or business?
“Uh, yeah.” I twisted my striped, long-sleeved undershirt in my fingers, trying to avoid her gaze.
“Larz…as in Larazeth? With the freaky tongue and tattoos everywhere? The…girl?”
Larazeth, how beautiful.
“That’s the one.” I crossed my arms and cocked a brow, preparing for whatever opinion she had about that. I pushed the anxiety out of my body. I’d worked too hard to get away from homophobic, judgmental people; I wasn’t about to back down now.
“For fuck’s sake, Ilona,” she threw her hands in the air, finally giving me space to breathe. “Why didn’t you tell me you were a lesbian? I am such an idiot, I’m sorry.”
“I didn’t think it was important. But it's all good, don’t worry about it. You didn’t know.” The mortified look on her face made it all worth it.
After a few moments of processing, she turned to me again with the devilish curiosity returning to her face.
“She’s a little. Well,” Bev looked me up and down before shrugging her shoulders with a smile, “you guys would actually look perfect together.”
I wasn’t sure whether to take that as a compliment or not, but now that my secret was out, I decided to take advantage of Bev’s nosey nature.
“So, what do you know about her?”
“Honestly, not much. Nobody really knows. She just appeared in town a few years ago. No family. She keeps to herself mostly, besides the skatepark. She doesn’t work anywhere in town.” She scrunched her brows, “Maybe she works from home. Actually, I don’t even know where she lives.”
She rubbed her chin, pacing out in front of the register, deep in thought. “Hmm, well, maybe if you two become an item, she’ll come out more. She’s probably just shy.”
The thought made me giggle. That towering, God of a woman being shy? It didn’t seem to check out. I did wonder why she kept to herself, though.
I wondered what brought her to this town alone. Was she running from something like I was? Did she have any family? Did she plan to stay here forever?

The rest of my shift passed agonizingly slowly. Every time I looked at the clock, only seconds had gone by. But the moment 2 pm hit, I raced from behind the register.
I stepped into the bookstore’s restroom to make sure I didn’t look as nervous as I’d felt.
I pulled my split-dyed hair into a half ponytail, letting the bottom black and blonde curls cascade down my shoulders.
I wore a long-sleeved black and white striped shirt with a band tee over it, tucked into a mini, tight black skirt, and sheer black tights.
I finished the look off with some chunky boots and gold jewelry.
My usual outfit ensemble with a little flair and makeup.
I spent hours trying to find the right outfit and even longer in the shower, shaving my entire body.
I wasn’t a fuck on the first date type of girl, but there was no telling with Larz.
She had plagued my mind since the moment I saw her.
Her black eyes and split tongue invaded my dreams every night, having me covered in my own arousal every morning.
In my mind, I’d already fucked her a thousand times.
The whole walk to the park, I took deep, calming breaths, letting the sting of the cool, foggy air fill my lungs.
It did nothing to calm my nerves, but the closer I got, the stronger the pull in my chest became and I couldn’t run away even if I wanted to.
It was like another entity entirely had taken over my body and pushed my feet forward.
I returned to the same tree we first met and scanned the park for her. Embarrassment curled in my belly when I didn’t spot her. Maybe she forgot? Did I even tell her what time I was supposed to be off?
Just in case she was watching me from a distance, I tried to act nonchalant and sat under the tree, opening my book.
Heat rose from my neck and up my cheeks.
I had been so shocked that she’d asked me to hang out that I didn’t even realize that the book we were about to discuss was pure, filthy, dark, lesbian smut.
I flipped through a few pages, trying to find some part of the story we could discuss that wouldn’t make my pussy drip, with no luck. Instead, I started to reread my favorite scene from the night before. Instantly, I felt my panties dampen as I imagined Larz and me in place of the main characters.
Larz lifted me onto the hood of a car, pushing my panties to the side. “Did you miss me, my angel?” Her voice was muffled under the black mask.
She kissed me threw the knit fabric from my neck, down my stomach until she finally reached my soaking cunt.
She rolled her mask up, just enough to expose her full lips, and lowered herself to her knees, biting into my thigh with her sharp canines.
Her breath was hot, ghosting against my prickling skin as she positioned her face perfectly between my thighs and flicked out her long, split tongue to…
“Hello, Ilona.”
My whole body jolted as fingers tickled against my ribs and warm breath caressed my ear.
I slammed my book shut as Larz appeared from behind the tree I was leaning against. A grin split her cheeks as she moved to settle onto her skateboard across from me.
Her dark aura settled perfectly with the overcast day that surrounded us.
“Hi,” I replied, breathless with my heart still racing.
“How was work?” She handed me a paper cup from Roasterz.
I tried not to look her in the eyes as I took it; I was still coming down from the embarrassment of being caught mid-fantasy.
I took a sip, surprised to taste my exact order. “It was good. How did you know how I like my coffee?”
“Lucky guess,” she shrugged as she took a sip of her own. “It's my favorite, too.”
My stomach fluttered wildly. Maybe it was just a lucky guess, but it was sweet either way. “Well, thank you. I needed this.”
Larz gazed at me as I settled back against the tree, taking another long sip, like she was waiting for me to elaborate.
“My boss is very talkative. It can be sort of draining.”
“Noted,” she chuckled, “I’ll try not to talk your ear off.”
She pulled her book out of her back pocket. “So, did you finish it?”
“I did.” I felt my skin heating again. What the fuck were we supposed to talk about?
“Me, too. What was your favorite part?”
