Ava
With Ellie down for the night and Cohen coming home late from practice, I felt like surprising him—something about being back in this kitchen made me think of that first night. The night it all started.
I sat on the kitchen island, the quartz countertop like ice against my bare skin as I waited for his arrival.
I had his jersey unbuttoned and draped over my shoulders—nothing but a navy lace bra and panties underneath.
His Aviators hat sat backward on my head, my long hair hanging loosely down my back.
The elevator chimed softly around the corner. He was home.
The minute Cohen entered the kitchen, he stopped dead. His eyes widened before turning dark as he drank me in slowly. His Adam's apple bobbed as he struggled to swallow. His hand dragged down his face as he blew out a strangled breath, “Fuck, you’re trouble.”
I’d always thought the nickname was fitting.
A grin tugged at the corner of my mouth. But I remained silent.
He stalked toward me, stopping short when I held my hand up to stop him.
“No, sir. Stop right there.” I pushed myself further back on the island.
I leaned back on my hands, bending my knees to plant my feet onto the cold surface.
“Get on your knees, Jordan.” I looked down at the ground, where I wanted him.
He bit down on his bottom lip, debating whether he was going to obey or not. He slowly began to sink down onto his knees. “My jersey sure looks good on you, baby,” he rasped. “This is feeling oddly reminiscent of a very familiar night.”
“Well, you know what they say. Wear the hat, ride the ball player,” I teased, throwing the line he used our first time together back at him.
In one smooth motion, Cohen reached behind his back and pulled his shirt up over his head, tossing it to the side. I licked my lips at the sight of him on his knees. Thick arms, broad chest, and a look in his eye like he wanted to devour me.
Holding his gaze, I slipped my panties off before slowly sliding my legs apart, baring myself to him. “Do you want to touch me, Jordan?” My voice low, almost taunting.
He nodded eagerly. “Yes, baby.” He was practically panting in anticipation. “Fuck, can I touch you?”
“No. You can crawl to me…and you can watch.” I trailed my hand down my stomach and toward my pussy.
I slowly circled my clit, dropping my head back on a soft sigh.
When I looked back down at him, he was crawling toward me on his knees, mouth hanging open, unable to tear his eyes away from my hand.
I slipped a finger inside and Cohen nearly came undone, a desperate sound escaped his throat.
I added another finger and began to feel the sweet pressure build low.
My thighs began to shake, my body began to tremble as I climbed closer to the edge.
“Just like that, baby. Keep going, you’re almost there,” his voice, gravel. “Are you imagining those are my fingers working you over, that it’s my hands that are on you?”
I nodded, my eyes closed, mouth open as I picked up the pace, pressing down harder on my clit. My breaths were coming fast, my moans growing louder until I couldn’t hold on any longer and the tension finally snapped.
I came on my own fingers, but Cohen’s name was on my lips.
I opened my eyes to find him shifting uncomfortably on his knees, his thick cock straining against his joggers. I slid off the counter and planted myself in front of him, running my fingers through his soft waves.
He looked up at me. “I think that was probably the hottest fucking thing I’ve ever seen.” He trailed his hands up my legs, gripping my thighs.
I lowered myself to where he knelt and grabbed his chain, pulling his face close to mine. I brushed my lips softly against his before sucking his bottom lip into my mouth. A deep groan rumbled from his chest as I took the kiss deeper, sliding my tongue against his. I could taste his desperation.
“How are you mine?” He whispered against my mouth.
I smiled, pressing a quick kiss against his lips. “I think I’ve always been.”
I grabbed his hand, pulling him up with me. I ran my hands up his chest and rested my arms around his neck, “and I’m so, so grateful you’re mine.”
Those words were like a match lit to dry grass, he was on fire.
He grabbed my head, pulling my mouth back to his as his arms looped around the back of my thighs, picking me up.
I wrapped my legs around his waist as he licked and sucked at my neck.
He walked us back to the island, gently setting me on the edge.
He pushed my thighs apart, shoved his joggers down and wasted no time as he sank his cock deep inside me.
I cried out both in pleasure and in pain at the fullness.
“You okay, baby?” Cohen stilled, brows pulled in concern.
“Amazing,” I sighed.
We began to move, slow at first. Every touch, a promise. Every kiss, a devotion. This man was everything I never knew I could have.
I could feel Cohen getting closer, his grip tighter, his pace more frantic. I tugged on his thick hair, tilting my hips up, driving him deeper. The angle hitting me in just the right spot and I knew I was seconds away from shattering. “Baby, I’m close,” I whispered against his ear.
His thumb found my clit and my hands gripped his perfect ass, pulling him closer as we both let go, together.
As we both came back down, chests still heaving, Cohen gently gripped my chin and pressed a soft kiss against my lips. “I am the luckiest man on this goddamn planet.” His eyes searched mine. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”
I grinned. “I guess we finally have our answer.”
His head tilted. “What do you mean?”
“God has a twisted sense of humor.” I rested my forehead against his. “We don’t have bad karma.”
Cohen laughed, “Damn straight, baby.”
Cohen, Walker, and Nate were headed to spring training in two days. Nate was Farrah's younger brother, who played for the Chicago Cobras. So, we packed up and headed to Primrose Hill to hang out with everyone before they took off.
My parents were watching Ellie for the night, allowing the James and King siblings to descend upon Hops otherwise, I was pretty positive we would have been banned by now.
We pushed together a few tables to fit our giant crew.
We had me and Cohen, Addison and Dean, Walker and Farrah, and Weston from the James side.
Harper and Archer ended up tagging along too, but they counted as part of the James family at this point.
And from the King side, we had Aria, Grayson, Nate, and Nolan.
At this point in the night, we were all a few beers in, lost in different conversations. The laughter was loud, the bickering louder. It was the perfect night.
"So, Walk," Nate said around a mouthful of fried pickles. "Is it weird knowing your best friend fucks your little sister on the regular?"
Nolan, his twin, choked on his beer. "Nice one," he laughed, giving his brother a fist bump.
Farrah instantly covered her face and groaned.
I barked a laugh. Cohen's eyes went wide before darting to Walker. The rest of the table was a mix of laughter and muttered oh shits. Walker stared at Nate for a beat. They were basically brothers, which wasn’t reassuring considering the James and King men treated punching each other as a way of communicating.
Nate smirked, unable to stop himself from smiling.
Grayson, who was sitting to the left of Nate, punched him in the shoulder. "Dude, watch your mouth."
Weston glared daggers in Nate's direction. "For once. Just once, can we not talk about my sisters' sex lives? For the love of God, it’s all any of you morons talk about." He pushed away from the table and headed toward the pool tables. Grayson followed behind.
The table went silent until Walker spoke. "Why don't you come over here and ask me that question, Nate."
"Can we not? Not tonight. I don't want to get kicked out," Farrah pleaded. "I'm too pregnant for this shit."
Walker's eyes softened towards his wife. "Fine. But after you have our baby, can I punch your punkass brother in his stupid face?"
Farrah smiled, placing her hand on his thigh before giving it a squeeze. "Yes, Ace. You have my permission to punch him in the face."
"What!? That's not fair. Now I won't know when it's coming!" Nate whined. He sat back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest, pouting.
Walker wore a shit-eating grin. "Exactly, you little shit." He pointed at him with his fork.
Once that was settled, everyone went back to their respective side conversations.
Cohen draped his arm across the back of my chair, leaning close, his lips brushing my ear. "Remind me again why I decided to buy us a house here?" he joked.
I laughed and turned toward him, placing a quick kiss on his lips. "Because you love it, and you love me."
He smiled against my mouth. "That's right."
Addison cleared her throat, breaking our focus from each other. I glanced over at my sister. "Dean and I thought tonight was as good a night as any to make a little announcement."
My eyes flicked down to the very full glass of beer that was still in front of her. My eyes went wide, and not being able to control myself, I yelled out, "You're pregnant!!"
Addison huffed and narrowed her eyes at me. "Seriously, Ava?"
Dean wrapped his arm around his wife with a laugh. "Yes, we're having a baby!" He pulled my sister into his side and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
Addison mumbled something about me ruining her surprise as everyone stood up to offer their congratulations and hugs.
When it was my turn, I pulled my big sister into a tight hug, "Sorry, sis. I was just so excited!" I pulled back to look at her. "We get to be moms together!" I beamed.
She smiled. "I know! I'm so happy you’re moving back home with Cohen." She wrapped her arms around me again, squeezing tight. "And I'm so happy you two finally stopped being stubborn and saw what everyone else has for a long time. You're perfect together."
