Chapter 21
Usually, when I heard the word action, I immersed myself in whatever character I was playing. It was actually quite crazy how easy and quick it was for me to become a totally different person. For the first time in my entire career, I didn’t snap into character.
Instead, I stayed in my own body and said my line, “How can you do this to me?”
If there was one thing I knew about Aires, it was his ability to effortlessly transform into whoever he was playing. But that morning, it was as if we were both too consumed with what was happening in the present time that we couldn’t escape it anymore.
It was there.
Us.
“There’s so much I want to tell you, so much I want to say…”
I shook my head. “Why did you wait so long? Why didn’t you fight for me?”
“I need you to trust me, yeah?”
The camera was rolling, and it still felt like we were the only two people in the world.
“Trust you? You can’t be serious.”
“Love, I’m sor?—”
“Don’t, Samuel.” I may have said Samuel, but I was speaking to Aires. “Nothing you can say will make anything okay between us. You lied to me. You fucking lied to me.”
“Can you please come here?”
“No.”
“Quinn, please… I’m hanging on by a thread here.”
I didn’t hear Quinn; I heard him say Bailey.
“Whose fault was that?”
He was over to her in three long strides.
“Don’t touch me.”
“Love—”
“I mean it, Sam. Stay away from me. I can’t do this again.”
“You know that’s bullshit. I fucked up, alright? I should have fought for you and not let everyone get in my way. I was young. If I could go back and change things, I would in a heartbeat.”
“Just go. It’s what you’re best at anyway.”
“What did you just say to me?”
“You. Heard. Me. I’m right here.”
“Quinn,” he coaxed, stepping toward me. “I’m such a fucking idiot. How did I not see this until now?”
“What does it matter? It doesn’t change anything.”
“It changes everything.” He gripped the back of my neck and yanked me toward him, slamming his mouth onto me with such force I lost my footing.
His strong arms wrapped around me.
Caging me against his body.
His scent.
His lips with an impact I hadn’t expected.
Colliding his mouth with mine, he parted his lips and beckoned me to do the same. I followed his lead, softly caressing the tip of my tongue with his. Our mouths moved against one another as if they were destined to meet and come together like this. Softly, he nipped at me, slowing down the unexpected movements of our emotional, catastrophic connection.
Resting his forehead on mine, he stared deep into my eyes and groaned, “Tell me you felt that…” He mimicked my panicked, heavy breathing.
“Yes.” I panted, loud enough for him to hear.
During this entire scene, we never morphed into our characters, making what we needed to happen next much more natural. I wasn’t nervous like I was before.
Now, being there with Aires… he made it easy.
He softly smiled, reading my mine like I knew he would.
The strength.
The pull.
It was inevitable between us.
There was no reason to deny it anymore.
The world thought we were a couple, and there was nothing to hide anymore. It was that realization that had tears forming in my eyes. I moaned against his lips while waves crashed at our feet, making everything so much more intense.
I savored his taste as he grabbed my ass and lifted me into his arms for my legs to wrap around his waist.
Our chests heaved profusely.
Our emotions ran wild and out of control, but still in sync with each other. His eyes were dark and daunting with a passionate, crazed stare. There wasn’t an inch of me that didn’t throb for him, that didn’t want him, that didn’t need him.
I craved his touch.
His words.
His love more now than ever before.
Kissing me deeply, he groaned, “I’m still in love with you, Quinn.”
Slowly, he lay me down into the ocean and hovered above me. He once again claimed my mouth.
Time stood still.
Feeling and hearing the world around us.
“I’m sorry,” he expressed in a sincere tone as he unbuttoned my shirt.
My legs were still around his waist as I rocked my hips. Nervous and excited all at once.
“Here?” he asked. “Like this?”
“Yes.”
He growled from deep within his chest and roughly threw off my shirt. “You’re so perfect, love. You were made for me.”
My head fell back with another moan as he kissed down my neck, I angled my body to show the side of my breast, but Aires laid a kiss on my ribs and blocked the view. His hands covered my chest in a quick, alluring movement. I started to rock my hips again, earning me another growl.
My body fell back onto the sand, and Aires positioned himself in a way where you wouldn’t see anything other than the profile of my body. I went with it, fully aware of what he was trying to do. In one fluid movement, he slid off my shorts.
To the camera, it appeared I was naked, but I was wearing a small pad that covered the lining of my pussy. He slid his shirt off without uncovering me for one second.
I expected the director to cut, but when I eyed in that direction, the smile on his face proved how pleased he was with what was supposed to be our first love-making scene on camera.
Except this wasn’t our first dance and number. I reached for his belt and unbuckled it and then his wet jeans until he was left only wearing a thin cup over his cock.
