Chapter 11
ELEVEN
Dempsey
Three Weeks Later
Shae entwined her fingers with mine as she lay in my arms, both of us spent from hours of fucking. I’d finally been cleared from my wounds from the fight and Shae had all but torn my clothes off like a rabid beast.
My woman was a wild one and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“What will we do now?” she asked. “Will you patch with the Rebels?”
“I don’t know,” I sighed, wishing we didn’t have to sully our morning together with talk about what to do next. Although it had been long since due. “Do we really need to go to the BBQ today?”
“Yes,” she sighed. “Ace wants us all there.”
“Ace is coming back already?”
“Yeah,” she replied. “He can’t seem to stay away too long. Personally, I think Sheridan’s had enough of him pandering around her non-stop.”
I laughed. “She’d have a host of people visiting with her having had that baby already.”
“Damn thing came two weeks early!” Shae exclaimed. “Sent the whole club into a frenzy.”
“Thing?” I queried. “It’s a baby, Shae, not a bomb.”
“You know what I meant,” she said, pushing up off the bed and getting changed.
I wondered if she would ever have that flat tummy swollen with my baby.
I’d never really considered it before, but the idea did excite me.
Maybe I needed to do it now, maybe I needed to pull her back to the bed and slam my cum into her until it took root.
Fuck, that was caveman, wasn’t it? I’d never do that to her if she didn’t want to have babies. I’d be wholly content to just worship her every damn day of my life.
“Come on, lazy ass,” she threw my shirt at me. “We got shit to do.”
Begrudgingly, I got out of bed and got dressed. After she’d braided her hair, she pulled her cut on and we headed out of the room we had commandeered when I’d come back and into the clubhouse. It was busier than normal, and I noticed a few of the Nomads had taken up space in every corner.
“Big affair?”
Shona nodded. “Yeah, Maree’s gone to get more food. She’s gonna be pissed if she can’t be the first to hold that baby once it gets here.”
Shae laughed and led me out the front to where Alex and Hawk were, seated with their women on their laps.
I had to admit that the feeling of being free and being here with Shae, felt like home.
I sat down on the spare chair, while Shae stood against the wall.
She wasn’t like the other women, she was one of the men here, and I knew she didn’t want to be a lap bunny.
It wasn’t long before a car pulled up and Sheridan got out, followed by Ryleigh and Shauna.
Sheridan reached into the car and pulled out a tiny little bundle.
She looked radiant, brimming with joy at her new little addition.
Ace pulled in on his bike not long after and moved over to help Sheridan.
Ryleigh took the baby while Ace wrapped his arm around Sheridan and led her up the steps to where we were.
Maree bounded outside to hug Sheridan before she ran down the steps to see the baby.
I couldn’t help but laugh at the woman. The house mama.
I liked her a lot, she was honest and protective of her family.
She reminded me of my own mother a lot. We all filed into the clubhouse and I hung back, knowing my place wasn’t with the patched members.
I was nobody now. The ol’ man of Valkyrie.
I smirked to myself, I kind of liked how that sounded. Leaning against the wall with one foot, I planted the other on the ground to balance as I saw Ace and Hawk take their place at the back of the clubhouse.
Shae was standing off to the side with Alex, Viper and Rebel. She looked so natural being there, in her cut amongst her brothers. I loved that for her and if I had to be running this bar so she could keep having her dream, I knew I would.
I’d give her the world.
Shae
“All right,” Hawk called out, silencing the room. “Shut it and let Prez talk.”
Ace rolled his eyes and smirked at his best friend before he looked over at Sheridan with love in his eyes before he looked back at us.
“You’ve dealt with a lot of shit while I’ve been away,” he said. “Hawk and Bear did a good job, and looks like I could take more breaks more often if that was any indication.”
“Like fuck,” Bear called out from beside me and the whole clubhouse laughed. Ace flipped him off before continuing.
“As you know, we were successful in patching over what was left of the Rabid Wolves and the Broken Reapers. That means we have new members joining us, and we’ll be setting up chapters in those areas to cover more of Ireland.
I’m giving everyone a chance now to say where they want to go.
I’m suggesting Bronx for President of the Kildare chapter and for the Limerick chapter, I wanted someone who earned their place these past few months. ”
Ace turned to me.
“Shae, will you be President of the Limerick chapter?”
Every set of eyes landed on me and I felt myself unable to form words.
“You got this, kid,” Bear said from beside me, low enough that only I heard him.
“Yeah,” I managed to choke out. Ace nodded, a smile on his lips.
“Then that’s settled,” he announced. “Each president will pick their VP and Sergeant at Arms and whoever wants to patch in with them can go to each Prez and ask. A big change is coming, and it’s gonna be hard, but we’re stronger together as you’ve seen.”
“Hear, hear!” someone called out from the back. I turned to see Butch raising a beer. “Now, where’s this food? I’m fuckin’ starved.”
Maree swiftly belted him in the back of the head to which everyone laughed. My emotions were at an all time high and I didn’t even know what to say or do so I just stood there as everyone moved about for the barbecue.
Dempsey enveloped me in his arms and kissed my forehead. “Congrats, babe.”
“I should have asked first.”
I looked up into his eyes, hoping he wasn’t mad at me.
“Babe, wherever you go, I go. There’s nothing you need to ask. I would have been pissed if you didn’t say yes. You earned this.”
A warmth wrapped around my chest then as I looked into the eyes of the only man who could truly possess me.
“President,” I said, my voice broken with what I could only assume was fear.
“You’ll make the damn best prez there is, Shae. And I’ll be there when you need me to be, but I know you’ve got this, babe.”
I wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed him. I didn’t care who saw. Dempsey broke us apart before I dragged him down the hall and had my way with him and I looked over to see Ace coming to me with a cut in his hands and a few patches.
“Here,” he handed me the patches. I looked down at the President patch, excitement thrumming around my veins.
“Thank you,” I said. I felt the other one underneath and saw the name Viking. Looking up at Dempsey, I handed it to him. He took it, confused as well, before Ace held out the cut with the Ghost Rebels patch on the back and the secondary patch that said Limerick.
“It’s only fitting you join the club your dad was in, Dempsey,” Ace said. “Bear suggested it and we all agreed. You’re one of us now and we all know you’ll be following Val down to Limerick so may as well make it official, yeah?”
I looked up at him, knowing he’d be there the whole way, and I saw a glimmer of something there. Pride?
He took the cut, feeling the leather in his hands, before he pulled it on and Ace clapped him on the back.
“Welcome, brother.”
“Come on,” Bear groaned. “I’m fuckin’ hungry.”
Orla smacked him on the chest just as he led her out the back to the outdoor area we’d built to house all the visitors we always got.
I knew they’d started the bonfire already, I could hear it crackling away.
I grabbed the sides of Dempsey’s cut and pulled him to me.
His lips landed on mine, his tongue seeking mine.
“It’s gonna take forever for that meat to cook,” I said against his lips.
“I mean,” he said, pulling back slightly. “I am hungry…but not for meat.”
I grabbed his hand and pulled him down the hall and to our room, slamming the door and locking it before I undid the buttons of my pants.
“Come on, big boy. Show me why they call you Viking.”
