Chapter 35 I Have To Do What Now?

Chapter thirty-five

I Have To Do What Now?

Alaceandra

"Again, Alaceandra.” Baldar directs me as I try once more to make something appear or catch anything on fire.

No dice. I groan in frustration. This training exercise has proved to be downright embarrassing.

For one, I lack the ability to make anything appear.

Two, there is the fact that the men are just staring at me as I fail time and time again.

Why do they need to be here anyway? I cannot believe they have to watch this after our conversation in the kitchen this morning.

I must look mighty attractive covered in sweat trying to make floaty lights appear. Not. I huff.

"Just how much have you done with your marked men?" Baldar's squeak startles me from my thoughts.

I mutter a reply. "Why does that matter?"

"Because it does." Baldar answers unhelpfully. "Now answer the question."

"We've just kissed," I whisper, biting at my bottom lip.

"Oh," Baldar gives me a bland look. "That makes sense then."

"What makes sense then?"

"I thought you all would have progressed further in my absence.

You will need to kiss one of them, Alaceandra.

Looks like the bond needs an extra kick in the ass to get things running for now.

" He gestures towards the two men and I stare at him.

"We do not have all day." He taps his foot, impatiently.

"Kiss one of them?" I stare at him incredulously.

"Correct."

"And you think this will trigger my powers?" I ask.

"Correct."

"Can we not do something else to trigger them?"

"Eventually, yes, but right now this is the fastest option."

"Fastest? Meaning that a slower option is available?"

"What are you guys talking about?" Sorin asks.

"We are just going over how to trigger my powers for training."

"And that is making you blush?" The prince is smirking at me.

I breathe out harshly. "He wants me to kiss one of you." I try not to melt into the grass from embarrassment.

"Does he?" Sorin gives Baldar a curious look. "I guess that makes sense."

"Yeah, but-"

"Feeling shy?" I can hear the prince's smile in his voice and it grates at me.

I rub at my eyes. "Look we all have just decided this thing between all of us is something we are going to try. I do not want to fuck up something that is tenuous at best due to its newness. It is one thing to practice my powers through channeling with you both here and quite another to outright make out with one of you in front of the other without some sort of discussion first, especially because Sam does not even know of this rendezvous. Maybe we should wait on training until we can talk about all this a little more.”

A branch breaks somewhere in the trees. I whip my gaze in that direction as a voice echoes throughout the clearing. "You need to train, Parum Bellator." Sam steps out from the darkness. "Stop worrying about the implications."

I narrow my eyes. "Sam? How did you—" I process what he said. "Wait, do not tell me you are joining this whole nickname train too! What does that even mean? Also, how long have you been there?" Well, there goes that excuse, this is just my luck…

He smiles at me. "Not long."

"Ugh now you've done it." Baldar's tone is filled with annoyance.

"What do you mean I have done it? What did I do?"

Baldar ignores me. "Are you going to kiss one of those two now or are we just wasting time." He snaps.

"Fine." I grumble. Who though? I stare at both the men then look at Baldar.

If I am going to do this the only real choice is Sorin.

Not only because I trust him the most of the two, but also because fire is much more predictable than little furry creatures roaming about.

I can barely keep track of Baldar as it is.

"Do we have water? Or something to put out flames? "

"Ah, so Sorin then. Good choice, although I am quite adept at fighting off demoni it might have been quite the challenge with everyone around.

" He runs over to Sorin and grabs his pant leg dragging him into the middle of the field.

Sorin allows this warily. Once he releases him, Baldar mutters "I so did not feel like cleaning up guts today, fire is much easier. "

"Cleaning up guts?" I ask. Why would he have to clean up guts if I chose the prince? Was he planning on killing the other demoni?

He jumps, startled. "Of course not what a silly question." He replies before laying at Sorin's feet. "Come here." I look at the prince and Sam to notice that they are both now sitting on opposite sides of the field, leaning against one of the large trees.

The prince notices my stare and makes a shooing motion towards me, his face filled with interest. One more look at Sam shows he too seems interested about what is going to happen next.

I swallow and then make my way to Sorin and Baldar. Standing across from Sorin, I lower my voice. "Did you tell him that we would be here?" It does not truly matter, but seeing as I specifically asked him not to, I need to know.

He shakes his head. "I did not, but I knew he would figure it out. Sam has a weird way of just knowing things, especially when they are meant to be secret."

"Shush!" A loud squeak ends our conversation. We look down at the demoni. "We must begin," he says and his white fur starts to glow.

"I- I heard him," Sorin says his eyes rounded.

"Yes, now kiss the girl." He waggles his fingers at us.

A mask of determination seems to slip over Sorin's features and I have only time to notice Baldar running behind me before Sorin is pulling me to him.

His fingers slipping into the strands of hair at the nape of my neck.

My skin tingles. His fingers tighten as he wraps his arm around my waist, fitting my body against his.

"I have missed these lips so fucking much," he whispers before kissing me with such passion, I lose track of everything else.

My eyes flutter shut as warmth spreads throughout my body.

I return Sorin's kiss, my body relaxing completely in his hold, and whimper when I feel his vines start to twine themselves around my ankles.

They continue to work their way up my body, weaving themselves between us until we are bound together.

"So. Fucking. Perfect." Sorin breathes between kisses.

His lips leave mine and start to make their way over my chin and down to my neck.

The warmth quickly transforms into an inferno heating my entire body and I moan, letting my head fall back, dizzy with lust. I grasp at Sorin and he chuckles before I feel vines twine around my wrists and gently urge me to release him, as I do the vines around my legs tighten, pulling me until I am forced to turn completely.

My ass is now firmly pressed against Sorin's cock.

I yelp and open my eyes at the change only to gasp at the sight before me.

Flames of blue, green and gold dance across the clearing, stopping short a foot from the edge of the tree line.

I feel Sorin's lips at the shell of my ear.

"Look what beauty you have created, the power you hold is magnificent, Lace.

" The flames glow brighter at the compliment and I chance a glance towards each end of the clearing.

Sam and the prince both watch with intent expressions.

The flames give them a wide berth and I wonder if that is something I am doing subconsciously or if it has something to do with Baldar.

"It is you Alaceandra," comes his little voice. "Your soul recognizes them. It will not burn them."

"Recognizes them?" My brain is coming out of its lustful haze at hearing Baldar's voice and the flames start to dim.

"That is something to explain later," Baldar says quickly. "You are losing your flames. Focus Alaceandra."

Panic fills me. "Focus on what?" I ask. The flames shrink further, their light now more of a sparkle against the grass.

"The warmth, Alaceandra. Focus on the warmth."

The warmth? I question internally. Sorin, along with his vines, remain twined around my body but they have gone still.

I think back to a couple minutes ago. I did feel a warmth but I have always chalked that up to arousal.

I try to focus on the sensation anyway. As I focus, the warmth once again grows in my body, racing down my arms and into my fingertips.

My eyes widen as the sparkling flames grow into small fires.

"Good," Baldar praises. "Now we are going to try to move them closer together. Do you see how they are all spread out? We are trying to concentrate those flames into one."

I focus on one of the smaller flames, my brow wrinkling in concentration, but nothing happens. I keep trying, a small headache forming.

Hours pass of me focusing on the sensation and trying to get the flames to move with no luck. Finally, I throw my hands up in surrender.

"This is impossible." My headache is now firmly a migraine. An agonizing pulse forming behind my left eye.

"You are giving up far too easily," Baldar chides.

"I have been trying for two hours! They will not move."

"Then keep trying," Baldar states flatly.

I am about to scream when a gentle touch along my back catches my attention.

"Instead of imagining pushing them together," Sorin's soft voice is back in my ear. "Imagine a flame in nature, what might move a steady flame?"

I sigh. A flame in nature? Wind caresses my skin and I shiver. Wind would move a flame, would it not? "A breeze?"

"Exactly," Sorin whispers, his tone filled with pride. "Now, try imagining a breeze pushing that flame into one of the ones around it." He points out a group of flames near each other. "Test the air, where is the wind blowing? We want to work with nature not against it."

I nod and do the only thing I can think of to test the winds direction I lick my finger and hold it up.

Noting the direction of the breeze I re-concentrate on the middle flame, this time imagining a gust of wind pushing the fire towards its mate.

The top of the flame flickers before leaning in the correct direction.

That is all I am able to manage before exhaustion crashes into me making my legs go weak and my body sways.

As I start to drop the flames extinguish themselves. Still, I smile at the little victory.

"It moved!" I say, my voice faint, I can feel my eyes rolling back.

"It did. Good job Alaceandra."

"Good job, Firefly."

Those are the last things I hear before my vision blurs and pain overwhelms me as I lose control of my body and crash to the ground.
