Danger Approaches

Sorin

This looks great. The villagers finished putting the last stone into place on the wall surrounding Olvaria last night and I came to check it out this morning.

It seems Sam is also good at construction instruction.

The wall is very well built, but I do have a concern over the shape of it.

While it might prove useful for attacks against monsters.

It has only one way in and out of it and does not do much as far as protecting against aerial attacks.

We might want to look into finding a way to fix that as well if we are going to be here for much longer.

I have learned a lot about this village since coming here.

They are a very artistic sort. Although they only inhabit the night, they love music and bright colors, which is why they engraved their cottages with beautiful images.

They love to use their magick to try to predict what might happen in the future so that they may be prepared.

Etching these predictions on their houses ensures that the information can be widely spread among the villagers.

At the end of each month, they have council meetings to troubleshoot any problems that might arise from them.

It is quite interesting. They do not have many soldiers though, so whenever one of their villagers gets into trouble, they are vulnerable to the elements around them.

Although this may seem like a disadvantage, apparently the dark lands have deemed these people as quite useful.

They have put sanctions on attacking them, which is how they have survived over the years, despite the general dangers that these lands hold.

These sanctions do not apply to the wildlife though, hence the need for the wall.

I wonder what all they will decorate this wall with.

There is not an inch of this space that is unmarked.

I am sure this wall will not stay bare for long.

I smile as I see a ball rolling towards the entrance of the village.

Running up, I capture it and place it back on the doorstep of one of the nearby cottages.

I hope Alaceandra is having a nice morning sleeping in.

Movement makes me glance again towards the entrance of the village.

Odd. That looks like a person. A shadowy figure quickly darts back into the woods.

I make out a boot and a ruby cloak before they vanish.

I know Sam had mentioned a couple times that he had spotted scouts on the borders edge.

Maybe this is connected? I step out of the village ready to capture the intruder, when something shimmers to my left.

Baldar appears at my feet looking frantic.

"Alaceandra is in danger." He runs up to me and yanks at my pant leg.

"What?" How can I hear him right now?

"We must leave now before it is too late."
