Chapter 10 #2
“Mmm,” I moan, tasting her.
Aurora arches her hips into my face. Her body clearly wants this. The flush of her cheeks. The excitement in her eyes. She needs this as much as I do.
I eat her out with wild abandon. Nothing could pull me away from her in this moment.
Her breath comes out in small pants. “Oh. Oh. Oh!” Without me having to tell her, she pushes her dress down, freeing her bare, small breasts. Her thumbs run over her nipples.
I press my face harder against her pussy. I need to inhale all of her. Taste all of her. Claim all of her.
I don’t even care that my blood is seeping out onto the floor. All I can think about in this moment is Aurora.
She bucks her hips against my face, letting herself get lost in the moment. Her eyes never leave mine. It’s like a challenge for one of us to look away first but I know I won’t break and I know Aurora won’t either.
My tongue flicks over her nub, rolling it and teasing it. Her wetness coats my chin.
My hands grip her thighs tighter, spreading her wider. I need to get in closer to her. Nothing will ever be good enough until I can make her fully mind. This brave, selfless woman who came into my life when I wasn’t expecting it. Now she has cemented herself in me and is refusing to let go.
I stare into her eyes as my tongue flicks her clit. Over and over and over again. I can see the moment Aurora’s eyes light up as her body gets ready.
And then she stiffens right before her body shudders her release. It is a thing of beauty. God, she’s beautiful.
She leans back against the window, breathing heavy.
I kiss up her body, planting one on each of her nipples, before making my way to her lips. “Taste yourself.” She blushes as I kiss her deeply but Aurora doesn’t pull away. Instead, she leans in even closer.
I’m the one who pulls away. I have to be careful with Aurora or she’ll see me for who I really am. A man with a scarred past that I can’t let go of.
“What was all of that for?’ she asks. “Why are you bleeding?”
“It doesn’t matter.” I stand up, clamping my hand over my bleeding arm.
“It does matter.” She fixes her dress and pulls her panties back up – much to my dismay – before standing up, facing me with all of her might, even though she has a tiny stature. “Why are you bleeding?”
“I got into a shootout today. That’s all.”
“That’s all? That doesn’t sound like all, Gabriel.”
“Sometimes I forget how brave you are. Standing up to me like this.”
She sets her hands on her hips. “What happened?”
“I told you. I got shot.”
“Yes but by who?”
Giovanni’s face flashes in my mind. “It doesn’t matter. I have to go deal with this.” I nod at my arm. “So be a good girl and stop asking me questions.”
“As your wife, I have the right to know.”
“And as my prisoner, you don’t.”
She flinches. “Will I have to be your prisoner forever?” Her question makes an intense guilt hit me in the stomach. Only Aurora can make me feel this way.
“I have to go,” I mutter, leaving the room before she can read my face.
Aurora
Gabriel keeps his distance from me but that’s not surprising. Days go by since he came into my room bleeding and put his mouth on me and I’ve only seen him in passing.
He’s not home when a visitor arrives.
Ginevra.
Charles opens the door for her and she waltzes right inside, straight to me. I have the unfortunate timing to be coming down the stairs at the exact moment she shows up.
“Gabriel isn’t home,” is the first thing I say.
“I know. I’m here to see you.”
“How do you know he isn’t here?”
Ginevra flips her hair over her shoulder. “Because I have friends who are wives to men Gabriel works with. They know he’s spending time with their husbands.”
“So why did you want to come see me?”
“Because I thought we could go out shopping today. Since you’re a mafia wife now. It only makes sense.”
I stare at Ginevra, trying to see if she’s being sincere or not. “The last time you were here, you tried getting Gabriel to have sex with you. Why would you want to spend time with his wife?”
“Because I am willing to let the past go. Now, do you want to come out with me or not?”
My eyes flick to the door. A chance to leave this house. Gabriel won’t be happy but if I’m with Ginevra, then he’ll know I didn’t leave to see my father. That I’m not trying to escape.
But this is my one chance to get out of this mansion and possibly get ahold of my dad.
“Fine,” I say. “I’ll go with you.”
She smiles but it doesn’t reach her eyes. “Great. Let’s go.”
Charles, who had been silently standing by the door, steps forward. “Aurora, I’m not sure Mr. Romano would be happy if you left.”
“Does she have to listen to her husband?” Ginevra asks. “She’s her own person. Come on, Aurora. Let’s go. We’ll put the past behind us.”
I don’t trust Ginevra one bit but I don’t care. I want out of this house. Gabriel’s emotional mood swings are going to be the death of me.
I turn to Charles. “Tell Gabriel that I’m with Ginevra. Please.” I don’t want him going after my dad but I can’t say this in front of Ginevra. It seems too personal.
After Charles nods, I face Ginevra. “Ok. Let’s go.” I grab my coat and follow her out of the house. I know this is risky but I don’t care. Gabriel thinks he can treat me as his prisoner but I am not his prisoner.
I inhale deeply once I step outside and find my lips turning up into a smile. I ignore the sense of unease in my stomach and follow Ginevra to her car.
