17. Extreme Measures #3

"Do you? Because I saw how you were acting with Reggie." His hands came up and jerked her dress down, exposing her breasts to his hands and mouth. He was animalistic. Desperate for her body. She'd never admit it, but she loved when he got like this.

After a lifetime of never being wanted, of being a burden, his jealousy and possessiveness were a balm to her soul. She craved it. Her hands came up to wrap around him and hold his head tighter to her sensitive breasts.

"He's nothing more than a school friend," she insisted. As much as she loved when he went all jealous caveman, she was smart enough to know that was not a mood you let him stew in. Best not to tempt fate when it came to Warrick Nash.

"A school friend that petitioned your parents for your hand three fucking times," he growled.

The vibrations of his words against her nipples sent her spiraling.

It took a minute for her to comprehend his words.

She dropped her head down to stare at him and found his eyes watching her while his mouth was otherwise occupied.

"What?" He pulled back, his lips holding on to her extended bud until he released it with an audible pop.

"He wanted to marry you," he growled, his eyes ablaze with anger.

"Bad enough that he even attempted to force your parents' hands.

Blackmail was not his forte. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have the power to enforce it back then.

Luckily for you, I did." His thrusts picked up, her body thumping back against the wall.

The noise was unmistakable. Especially when she couldn't contain the sounds of her approaching orgasm.

Her moans were too loud to be disguised.

Reggie would have to be deaf to not know exactly what they were up to.

"It doesn't matter," she gasped out. "He doesn't have me, you do. I'm yours." His eyes went wild at her words. His hand came down to hitch her thigh even higher.

"You're damn straight I do," he huffed before he brought them both to a shattering climax. His own following moments after hers. "He'll never have you. Never taste you. You're mine." He repeated the words under his breath as he pumped his essence into her. As if it was a mantra.

She was still coming down from her high when she heard the hesitant sound of a throat clearing from outside the door.

"I'm all done up here," the discomfort was obvious in Reggie's voice. Iris felt her cheeks heat. "I'm going to head down and install a matching system in the garage level. I'll need to shut the whole system down for a reboot when I'm done. So don't get in the elevator for at least an hour."

Nash met her embarrassed gaze with a devilish smirk. "What a coincidence. We've just finished ourselves. Great work, Reginald."

Her eyes bulged when he spoke, but the mischievous glint in his eyes caused an incredulous laugh to escape her lips.

Once it was out, she couldn't stop it and soon she was laughing freely.

Her hands holding onto his shoulders, as she shook with uncontrollable laughter.

He lifted her face up to his, watching her with a bemused grin.

What he did next almost choked her with how quick it caused her laughter to dry up. Warrick Nash laughed with her. A genuine expression of amusement. No mockery in it. She stared up at him with bright eyes and a happy grin.

Nash

Nash stood with his back to the window behind him. Iris was asleep, tangled in the sheets on their bed. Her naked breasts open for his eyes to devour. She was exquisite, his wife. Seeing other men covet what was his sent the beast inside rattling at its cage.

Reginald and she had history. And he hated it. His hand roughly plowed through his hair in frustration. He really fucking hated it.

He didn't want anyone to have any part of her. It was selfish, but he didn't give a damn.

His guards at the beach house were smart enough to keep their eyes averted that morning.

Good thing, too. That none of them looked at her was the only thing reining him in.

It was all he could to do to hold on to his control.

He wanted to rip their eyes out for even thinking they had the right to gaze at her body.

Even he knew that was a tad extreme. But he was a man of extremes. He'd accepted it long ago. He was born into incredible privilege. Yet still never settled for anything. Adding on to that was the ambition to push the limits, it made for an extreme personality.

He knew what he wanted, and he took it. That's what he lived with every day. Suppressing the urge to raze the world around him and to build it back up to suit his needs. He wanted his Iris locked in a gilded cage, far away from anyone who thought they could take her from him.

His urges weren't acceptable in polite society. No, they expected him to be controlled, powerful, yet gentle and tame at the same time. He let out an audible scoff.

The world lived in a fairy tale, if they thought they could pick and choose what traits men like him came with.

With ambition and drive came a certain amount of savagery.

It was all a matter of the balance between the three.

He personally never minded a little savagery. It had served him well all these years.

His eyes stayed locked on his wife. He always believed that as soon as he had her legally bound to him, the urge to keep her within eyesight would dwindle. That knowing she was his would help soothe the beast inside. That was not the case. If anything, it climbed to new heights.

That bastard Winthrop dared to make his wife smile.

He grit his teeth just thinking about the hug he almost received.

Worst of all, he didn't even do anything to earn such a happy reception.

Not like he had to. Her smiles were few and far between for Nash, but Reggie apparently needed to do fuck-all to get one.

He cracked his neck, hoping to relieve some of the tension bottled up there. He wanted nothing more than to stay locked in this penthouse with her, but he couldn't. Duty called him. He wasn't going to catch the bastard targeting her by hiding away.

A gentle buzzing coming from his nightstand drew his gaze from her for the first time in hours. He crossed the room on silent feet and then lifted the phone to his ear.

"Nash," he grunted while turning to exit the room. Best to let her sleep. He wore her out, he thought with a smirk.

"Sir, I think you need to get down here." Brutus, his head of security, said on the other end of the line. "We found something I think you are going to want to see." He glanced at his wristwatch, three o'clock in the morning. If he was fast, he could be there and back before Iris ever woke up.

"Alright," he grunted and then ended the call. He slipped into a suit jacket and then headed towards the elevator. He dialed Winthrop while he waited for the elevator.

"Night Fang, at your service." A sarcastic and sleep addled voice said over the line. As if he needed another reason to hate the man. Mocking the traditions again.

"Get up. I need you to meet Brutus and I at his office.

" He barked over the line. He stepped inside the elevator as he listened to the rustling sound of Winthrop getting out of bed.

Nash grit his teeth. He may be the best tech genius on the planet, but he was pushing his luck with every passing minute.

"You got it, boss." His annoyingly chipper voice chirped.

How he switched from drowsy to energetic, he'd never know.

Nash's fist clenched as he cracked his neck again.

If he wasn't so good at what he did, Nash was sure he would have snapped and killed him years ago.

"By the way, how is the bio scan working in the elevator?

Did you get the alert on your phone?" Just as he asked, a small chirp rang in his ear.

Nash pulled the phone away from his ear without answering. He noticed an unfamiliar icon and opened up the security app Winthrop's company used. He read the report and grunted. At least the man earned his keep.

"Clever," Nash drawled over the phone. The closest he would ever get to complimenting him on his life's work.

But it was remarkable. On his app he received a report that the elevator had been activated, the code that turned it on, who was in the elevator confirmed by bio scans, and he had the option to power down the elevator remotely if it was an unapproved rider.

If someone managed to sneak past the guards, they had no chance of making it to Iris. He'd know every time the elevator was used.

"I know you well enough to take that as the glowing review that it is." Winthrop chuckled as he heard the man's car turn on. "There are still some bugs in it. You should have gotten the alert immediately upon you calling for the elevator. I'll work on that."

Nash remained silent, in no mood to converse with the man. He was still bitter about the man's so-called friendship with his wife. Winthrop continued droning on until Nash couldn't take it anymore.

"Just do it, and tell me when it's done." He snapped, his hands tightened on the steering wheel of his care so much his knuckles shone white. "I'll see you in twenty," he barked and then disconnected the line.
