Chapter Twenty-Nine

Wrenley

We step out into the night, Max on my right, Liam on my left, and there’s no guilt clinging to me.

No heaviness in my chest. Just heat. Low, coiling heat that curls in my stomach, tightening with every step toward the SUV.

A hunger that’s got nothing to do with food and everything to do with the way they’re looking at me.

They just watched me bleed someone dry and can’t decide if they want to kiss me or fuck me against the nearest wall.

Max is studying me like he’s cataloging every drop of darkness I poured out in that room, tucking it away for later. Liam’s hand brushes mine, light, casual, but enough to light my nerves on fire. I glance between them both and smile, slow and wicked.

“Are you both as turned on right now as I am?”

Max smirks. “You already know that answer, Sparrow.”

Liam laughs low and dark, like he’s saying I’ll take you right here if you let me.

Maybe I will.

I’m not ashamed of what I’ve become. I’m not pulling back. I’m going over the edge and dragging them with me. The SUV waits under the floodlights, black paint cold as ice. The air smells like gasoline, burnt powder, and the faint copper tang of blood still on my skin.

I don’t hesitate. I shove Max back against the hood, hard enough for the metal to groan. His grin is pure sin, but it dies the second I grab his jaw and crash my mouth into his. This isn’t sweet, it’s teeth, tongue, and the taste of his breath mixing with mine.

Liam’s fist knots in my hair, yanking my head back.

My neck arches, my chest pushing against Max, and Liam’s mouth is suddenly on mine, deeper, rougher.

I feel Max’s chest rise against me like he’s holding back a growl.

I laugh into Liam’s kiss because they think they’re taking me. But I’m the one taking them.

I drop to my knees, cold biting through my jeans. The rasp of Max’s zipper cuts the air before I wrap my hand around him, thick, hot, ready. His hips jerk, his fingers twisting into my hair, guiding me down until he groans my name through clenched teeth.

Liam is a wall of heat behind me, his hands clamped on my hips. He doesn’t wait, he grinds into me through my clothes, making my body rock between them. I swallow around Max, pulling back just enough to breathe before pushing deeper again, my nails digging into his thighs.

When I hear Max’s breath stutter, I pull off and stand, dragging Liam with me by his collar.

I spin him, shoving him back just enough, yanking his zipper down with a practiced hand.

I don’t bother with slowness. I bend forward over the cold metal, and then he’s inside me in one brutal thrust that knocks the air out of me.

Max stays close, his mouth on mine even as Liam’s pace pounds through my body. His hand slides between my legs from the front, his fingers stroking me where Liam’s thrusts keep hitting deep. The pressure makes my knees shake.

The thought hits me like a spark. Both of them. Now.

I push off the hood and turn, my eyes daring them both. “Hood. Sit.”

Max obeys instantly, sitting back with that wolfish grin. I climb onto him, straddling his lap, sliding down onto him in one slow, deliberate sink that makes my head fall back.

Liam moves in behind me, his chest a wall of heat to my back. His hand wraps around my throat, not choking, just holding, as he rasps out, “Going to let me back in, Little Warrior, here?” Pressing a finger to my ass.

“Yes,” I breathe, not because he’s in control, but because I am.

Liam pushes forward, and I tense at the first push; the burn is sharp, but then I melt into it, gasping.

His piercing adds a new sensation. Max curses, his grip tightening as he feels it too.

They work into me together, Max holding me down on him from the front, Liam pressing in from behind until I’m full, pinned, and shaking from the pressure. It’s too much and exactly enough.

The stretch is intense, forcing my breath into a ragged rhythm. Max groans into my neck. Liam growls against my ear. I laugh, low, wicked, because I have them both exactly where I want them.

They fall into rhythm without words, Liam pulling me back into him as Max thrusts up, the push and pull blurring into one brutal wave that makes my breath hitch with every movement. I grind on Max in time with Liam’s thrusts, taking control of the pace until they’re matching me.

Somewhere off to the side, a Serpent coughs into his hand like it’ll cover the fact he’s watching. I don’t care. Let him watch. Let them all watch.

The heat spikes fast. I push my hands into Max’s chest for leverage, leaning back against Liam so he can get deeper. The angle shifts, and they hit me everywhere at once. My nails dig into Max’s shirt, my head falling back against Liam’s shoulder as a moan rips out of me.

The air is cold against the sweat breaking across my skin.

The sound of us is filthy. Grunts, curses, and the wet slap of skin.

My release hits like a violent snap. I clamp down around Max so hard his rhythm stutters.

Liam growls against my ear, his thrusts turning punishing as he follows me over, dragging Max with us.

When it’s over, we’re all breathless, tangled in heat and shaking limbs. Liam steps back, tucking himself into his jeans, as I slide off Max’s lap, my legs unsteady, the chill rushing in against my damp skin.

I can’t help but giggle as I pull my pants back on. “I’m getting darker,” I murmur, my voice wrecked. It’s not a confession, it’s a vow.

Max cups my jaw, thumb stroking once. “We like you dark.”

Liam smirks against my ear, his voice low and rough. “We love you dark.”

I believe them.

The drive is quiet, although Torque and Wrecker are grinning like idiots in the front seat, and I know damn well why.

I’m wedged between Max and Liam in the back, still flushed and damp.

My pulse slows, but that coil of hunger in my stomach refuses to unwind completely.

I can still feel them on me, in me. I’m not sure if I want to purr in satisfaction or start all over again.

My hands rest on their thighs, fingers tracing idle circles that aren’t innocent. Max’s breathing shifts, the muscles in his jaw tightening. Liam doesn’t move at all, but I can feel the tension in his leg under my palm.

Torque catches my gaze in the rearview mirror, his grin widening like he’s been waiting for me to notice. “Careful, Hayes-Blackwood,” he says with Elias-level mischief. “Some of us are tryin’ to drive.”

I raise a brow, giggling, “Watch what you want, T, I have no shame.”

He just winks at me before looking back to the road.

By the time we pull up to the other safehouse, the weight of the night settles in, but it doesn’t dull the edge running through me.

Doc meets us outside with towels and clean clothes, her eyes narrowing like she’s calculating what kind of trouble we’ve been up to.

“Torque texted, said you might need to clean up before you scare someone inside.”

Wreckers' grin doesn’t fade. “How’s Daisy?”

“Considering all things, she seems okay,” Doc answers. “She finally fell asleep.”

I glance at Max and Liam one last time before heading inside. There’s something hungry in my eyes that I don’t bother hiding, at least not from them. But I push it down for now. “Come on, Wreck. Let’s go check on her.”

Torque calls after us, “Vans will be ready to roll out at first light. Missouri’s waiting.”

I nod and keep walking.

Inside, the house smells faintly of antiseptic and coffee. I ease the master bedroom door open, careful not to wake her, and freeze when I see Hugo climbing off the bed. “What the hell?” I whisper, looking at Wrecker. He shrugs.

Riot appears around the corner, smirking like this all makes perfect sense.

“Went to get the hellhound, figured no one was going back to the mansion for a couple of days. He scared the shit out of a few of the girls, but he walked in here and laid down next to her. She showed no fear and fell asleep petting him.”

My chest tightens. I crouch in front of Hugo, taking his massive head in my hands and scratching behind his ears. His weight leans into me immediately. “Braver Junge,” I murmur in German. “Immer wachsam, immer treu.” Good boy. Always vigilant. Always loyal.

His tail thumps once against the floor.

We don’t wake Daisy, but I step inside the room just enough to see the slow, steady rise and fall of her chest. She’s curled toward the wall, a blanket tucked under her chin. Hugo jumps back on the bed like he’s decided she’s his responsibility now. I can’t even be mad about it.

A warm hand finds my hip, gentle but solid. Liam’s voice is low. “Little warrior, we should sleep. We’ve got a bit of a drive tomorrow.”

I nod, still watching Daisy for another breath before stepping back.

“I’m staying here,” Wrecker says, already slipping into the room. He drops onto the couch along the far wall, long legs hanging over the armrest, leaving the door open so we can still hear anything.

Liam leads me across the hall to a vacant bedroom. Max is already stretched out on the bed, one arm behind his head, eyes on the door like he’s been waiting for us. I crawl in beside him, sliding into his warmth, curling against his chest.

“You feeling okay?” he asks, voice low, like it’s just for me.

I smirk. “Better than okay.”

Liam climbs in behind me, his arm settling heavy over my waist, his chest pressing against my back.

The three of us shift and adjust, finding that perfect tangle we’ve built over time, limbs over limbs, our breathing synced together.

Even so, I can’t seem to get comfortable.

I keep wiggling, adjusting, pushing my toes under Max’s leg, arching against Liam.

“Sparrow,” Max says, voice edged with amusement. “What is it?”

I huff. “We’re wearing too many clothes… we never sleep this caged. This is too much—” I gesture at the fabric between us, “—should be naked.”

Liam barks out a laugh behind me. “Well, if only there was a lock on the door.”

Max grins, the curve brushing my temple. “Yeah, and if only someone hadn’t just wrung us both out in the driveway.”

I bite back my own laugh and finally settle, pressed between them, their heat seeping into me until my eyes get heavy. We drift off like that, wrapped in each other for a few stolen hours.

The morning comes too fast.

We’re moving in that groggy, just woke-up haze, pulling on clothes, shoving bags into the back of the van. The air is crisp, damp from the night, and the engines idle low as everyone falls into place. It’s a caravan, three vans, two SUVs, all loaded with everyone from House of Silk, and Serpents.

Our van is Wrecker at the wheel, Max riding shotgun. I’m in the middle row between Liam and Daisy, Hugo’s sprawled across our feet like he’s claiming us both. A few other girls fill the back row, quiet but alert, eyes on the windows.

The sun is barely up when we pull away from the safehouse, gravel crunching under the tires before we hit the road. I lean forward, elbows on the center console, looking at Wrecker. “Tell me about your aunt’s place.”

He glances at me in the rearview mirror. “Big property. She’s got fields for days, a few barns, and some houses she keeps for seasonal workers. They’ll have their own space. Privacy. Food that doesn’t come out of a can.”

Beside me, Daisy shifts. She’s been mostly silent since we left, but now she’s frowning at her hands. “It just… it feels strange. Going somewhere I don’t know. Not knowing what she’ll think about me.”

Wrecker tilts his head, softening his tone. “She’s a good woman, Daisy. Tough as hell, but fair. And if she speaks to you in another language, don’t take it the wrong way—it’s just how she talks sometimes. Sounds sharp even when it’s something nice.”

Daisy tilts her head. “What language?”

“Italian.”

Her entire face lights up like a spark just caught. She sits up straight, eyes wide, and then says something quick and fluid in Italian, the syllables rolling off her tongue like she’s been speaking it her whole life.

Wrecker actually slows the van for a second before catching himself, his head snapping toward her. “What the---?”

Even Max twists in his seat to stare, and Liam’s brows shoot up.

Daisy grins, leaning back like she didn’t just rock all of us sideways. “My grandmother was Italian. She taught me before she died. My mom didn’t speak it much, but I remember a lot.”

Wrecker shakes his head, a slow smile spreading across his face. “Well, kid, you just made yourself her favorite before you even met her.”

The tension in the van loosens after that.

Daisy starts asking questions about the property, the animals, and Wrecker tells stories, some funny, some absurd, about growing up around his aunt.

Liam chimes in with his own questions, Max adds a few dry comments that make Daisy laugh, and before we know it, the miles are disappearing under us.

The hum of the tires, the low murmur of voices, and the fact that, for the first time in days, the weight in the air feels lighter. It makes me almost forget the reason we’re making this trip in the first place.
