Safiya stood before the vanity, gently running the towel through the ends of her damp hair until every strand was dry enough to leave loose over her shoulders.
She had just set the towel aside when the bathroom door clicked open.
Instinctively, she looked up.
Zaviyar stepped out, a white towel secured low around his waist. Tiny droplets of water still clung to the broad planes of his shoulders, slowly tracing their way down his chest. His freshly washed hair was damp, the dark strands falling carelessly over his forehead.
'This man, he does all this intentionally'
The memories of the previous night crashed into her all at once.
Almost immediately, she became intensely fascinated with the creases on the bedsheet. Anything was better than looking at him, right now.
Across the room, Zaviyar noticed the abrupt change in her behaviour almost instantly.
He folded his arms across his chest, one brow arching with quiet amusement as he watched his usually talkative wife avoid his gaze as though meeting it would set the room on fire.
His smile faded into a small frown. She hadn't looked at him once.
'Whats the use of me spending hours at the gym before coming here if she doesn't even look?', he grumbled under his breath.
Safiya busied herself with unnecessary tasks, smoothing a wrinkle that didn't exist before reaching for the blanket.
"I'll just fold this...", The words barely left her lips before a cool body settled behind hers.
She stiffened. The lingering chill from his shower seeped through the thin fabric of her bathrobe, sending a shiver racing down her spine.
Before she could react, Zaviyar's hand slid gently over hers, effortlessly taking the blanket from her grasp.
"Let me help.", His warm whisper against her ear made her swallow nervously.
Unable to trust her own voice, she simply nodded. Each of them held one end of the blanket.
Slowly, Zaviyar stepped closer so the corners would meet. Far too close.
Safiya's heartbeat stumbled.
Get a grip, she scolded herself silently.
He's your husband.
You've literally kissed him. Why are you behaving like this?
"Why are you so red?" he asked softly.
He took the blanket from her hands before she could answer, folding it with practiced ease and placing it neatly at the foot of the bed. He adjusted the pillows one after another until everything sat perfectly in place.
Only then did he turn back to her.
With two slow steps, he backed her gently against the bedside table, leaving barely any space between them.
"You weren't this shy last night.", Her entire body froze. " And you have hidden my marks too. "
Heat rushed to her face so quickly that even the tips of her ears turned crimson. Without thinking, she grabbed the nearest pillow and smacked it lightly against his arm.
"Don't tease me!", He caught the pillow effortlessly, a smug grin spreading across his face before tossing it onto the bed.
"I'm only asking.", Instead of stepping away, he leaned in even closer.
"You know exactly what you're doing," she whispered, her breaths growing noticeably shallower with every passing second.
"I do.", The corner of his mouth lifted.
His gaze drifted to the tiny mole resting beneath her lower lip, a mark so faint that hardly anyone ever noticed it. Unless they stood this close.
( A/N : ?? i also have a mole under my lips and i just wanted to add it hehehhe )
His head lowered. The moment he was about to kiss her, Safiya placed her palm over his lips, stopping him.
"I taste like Sensodyne toothpaste right now...", A muffled chuckle vibrated against her hand, "...and so do you.", He gently held her wrist.
"That's exactly why I want to taste like you.", Her eyes widened.
"One more word, and you'll be punished with a no-touching policy.", She folded her arms, trying her hardest to sound stern despite the blush refusing to leave her face.
Immediately, Zaviyar took a dramatic step backwards, both hands raised in surrender.
"As my wife commands.", His exaggerated obedience earned him an eye roll.
Muttering something under her breath, Safiya walked towards the wardrobe.
Without a second thought, she slipped out of her bathrobe.
For the first time since the morning had begun, Zaviyar genuinely looked caught off guard. His eyes widened. His usually composed expression cracked ever so slightly.
She stood before him wearing only a matching bra and thong, completely unbothered by his stunned silence. She glanced back over her shoulder.
"Take a picture. It'll last longer.", His surprise melted into amusement.
"Why should I take a picture...", His gaze lingered on her for a brief moment, "...when I can have you?"
She paused halfway through pulling on her grey sweatpants. Slowly, she looked back at him, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
"And who says you can have me?", With that, she pulled up the loose grey sweatpants before slipping into an oversized white T-shirt, letting her freshly washed hair fall freely over her shoulders.
When she finally turned around again, Zaviyar had changed as well. The towel had been replaced with a plain black T-shirt and comfortable lounge pants.
Simple and effortless, yet so dangerously handsome. Silence settled between them. Their eyes met for only a second. Safiya was the first to look away. A smile tugged at Zaviyar's lips.
"Still shy?", She let out an exaggerated sigh.
"Please don't start again.", Closing her eyes, she pressed her fingertips against her forehead, silently willing the endless replay of last night to stop tormenting her thoughts.
The smile on Zaviyar's face gradually disappeared. His teasing expression softened into concern. He crossed the room until he stood in front of her once more.
"Tell me what's bothering you."
"Nothing...", She answered too quickly.
"Tell me, Safiya.", His voice grew quieter.
"Is it something I did? Or is it something else?", She remained silent, pressing her lips together. He studied her face carefully.
"Safiya..." His brows drew together. "You seem uncomfortable. You won't even look me in the eye."
A pause settled between them. His voice lowered further, carrying nothing but quiet concern.
"And I can't be at ease knowing something is weighing on your heart."
"Okay then, listen..." Safiya inhaled a shaky breath, her fingers twisting together as she struggled to find the right words.
"Every time I look at you, all I remember is... y-you eating me out, and me giving you a blowjob."
Her cheeks burned scarlet as she spoke, each word leaving her lips with visible difficulty.
"And it's embarrassing because... y-you're acting as if nothing happened, while I..." She trailed off, unable to finish.
" Mujhe bohot sharam aa rahi hain ", the deep crease of concern between Zaviyar's Frown slowly disappeared, replaced by a smile so gentle that it instantly softened the tension in the room.
"Shhh..." he whispered, both hands settling reassuringly on her shoulders. His thumbs brushed over them in slow, comforting circles. "Calm down... calm down."
He lowered his forehead against hers before speaking again.
"There isn't anything for you to be embarrassed about. Okay?" His voice was quiet, warm enough to soothe the storm raging inside her. "I'm shy too, you know. My mind is still filled with images of you from last night."
He pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead, smiling when she immediately lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.
"It's alright to feel shy, love.", His lips brushed against her temple before he murmured softly,
"Don't worry... one day you won't feel shy about our closeness anymore.", She finally looked up, long lashes fluttering as curiosity replaced some of her embarrassment.
"How are you so confident about that?", A teasing glint entered his eyes.
"You won't be shy because..." He leaned closer until only a breath separated them. "...you'll get used to being this close to me."
Their breaths mingled, warm and uneven. A helpless smile tugged at Safiya's lips despite herself.
"You're such an opportunist," she accused, narrowing her eyes at him. "Every time you distract me with your sweet words, you somehow end up this close."
A smug smile curved his lips., "Ilzaam laga rahi hain aap mujhpe."
(You're accusing me.)
His fingers gently curled beneath her chin, tilting her face upwards until their eyes met.
"Ab ilzaam lag hi chuka hai toh..."
(Now that you've already accused me...)
"T-Toh..."
(Then...)
The word barely escaped her lips before they brushed against his. That was all the invitation he needed.
His mouth claimed hers in a slow, lingering kiss, unhurried yet consuming enough to steal every coherent thought from her mind. By the time he finally pulled away, her knees felt weak and her breaths came in soft, uneven pants.
The distance between them lasted barely a second.
A small, involuntary whine escaped her when he leaned back, making his smile widen.
"Careful, lawyer," he murmured against her lips. "You're losing your argument."
She narrowed her eyes, though the blush creeping across her cheeks betrayed her far too easily.
"Chup chap kiss karo wapas, warna main No Entry ka sign laga dungi room ke bahar."
(Quietly kiss me again, otherwise I'll put a 'No Entry' sign outside the room.)
A laugh escaped him, rich and effortless.
"Achha? Phir main khidki se aa jaunga.", He rubbed the tip of his nose against hers affectionately.
(Really? Then I'll come through the window.)
"Tum bhi na...", Her heart swelled.
(You're impossible.)
