37. Lily
CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
lily
Two Weeks Later - Christmas Day
W armth spreads through me, as prickles of awareness touch my senses. My eyes flutter open, orienting myself to the pinks of the morning light peeking through the curtains. It’s too early, but as another wave of pleasure rocks through me, I realize exactly why I’m awake. Thoren’s mouth latches around my clit, sucking it into his mouth as he pushes my thighs further apart.
Reaching below the blankets, my fingers tangle through his hair, holding him to me. He growls, doubling his efforts as one of his hands trails up my thigh to my aching center. He swirls one finger around my entrance before pushing in, stroking it against the spot that makes me see stars.
I pull the blankets off me, wanting to watch as he devours me for breakfast. His hazel eyes fix on mine, the green glinting when he winks. His tongue swirls around and around, driving me closer to climax.
“Don’t stop,” I pant out as he adds a second finger. His teeth come out to play, lightly scraping over my sensitive nerves before he sucks my clit hard again. I shatter around him, my hands clenched tightly in his hair, holding him to me as I ride out my orgasm. When my body slumps onto the bed, he kisses his way up until his lips cover mine.
“Merry Christmas,” he whispers against my lips. I kiss along his bottom lip before slipping my tongue inside. He groans his approval, deepening the kiss as his hands spear into my hair. His hard dick rubs against my pussy, soaking himself in my cum. Reaching down, I line him up to slide inside.
Our moans come in unison as his thick cock stretches me, filling me completely in one thrust. I shift my hips, rolling us so I am on top. I love waking up to his tongue inside me, but he loves watching me ride him, and on Christmas, the least I can do is oblige. I rock my hips over him, rubbing my clit against him with every back-and-forth motion.
“Fuck, baby, you look so pretty riding me.” One rough hand grips my hip tight, the other drawing small circles on my already sensitive clit. My head falls back, focusing on the feel of his hands on me as I rock on his hard cock.
“I’m so… close..” I moan as he doubles his efforts, guiding me over him faster. The deep ache inside explodes through me as my pussy clamps down on him like a vise. Thoren’s deep grunts follow my cries of pleasure as his cock pulses, spilling himself in me. He pulls me down, burying his head in my neck, as his fingers skate down my back.
“Merry Christmas, baby.”
Thoren rolled us to the side, letting his spent dick fall from me. It’s quickly replaced by his fingers as he pushes his cum back in me with a wicked smirk on his lips. “Does this count as a Christmas gift?”
I choke on a laugh. “We promised only two gifts, so I should be mad if this is one of them, but I’m not. I’ll take this gift any day.”
Satisfied his cum is back inside me, he climbs out of bed. “I think I have proven I will fuck you every day of your life,” he calls over his shoulder as he turns on the shower. “Get your sweet ass in here, I am excited for gifts!”
I happily follow him in, soaking in the feel of the hot water. I thought the honeymoon phase of our relationship would have faded by now, but it is far from it. We love to shower together, taking the time to wash each other. Even out of the shower, we still love to cook together, watch shows and read together, spend every moment we can tucked into each other's arms.
I have been off birth control since the hospital, but I haven’t had a positive test yet. As much as I want to build a family with him, I know he isn’t going anywhere and we have our whole lives ahead of us to have babies. Until then, I will continue to enjoy trying, because holy cow does he make it fun. I love that he can be sweet like this morning, but if I push him enough, he will bend me over and make it rough in the most delicious of ways.
“Whatcha thinking about over there?” his deep voice rumbles against my back as his nose runs along my neck. “You just got the prettiest flush.”
“Nothing,” my denial sounds weak. “Present time.”
I turn off the shower, and we step out, getting our towels. “Christmas pajamas only,” he tells me sternly as he moves to the bedroom to get dressed. “We are looking like a family in our matching jammies when we go to my parents later. I also might have bought some for Shadow.”
He holds up dog pajamas that match the ones we have, and I am instantly in love. The pup in question is eyeing us warily, but she is going to look adorable in them. The three of us dress in our matching reindeer pajamas before heading downstairs. We agreed on two gifts each, one big and one small. Not that money is an issue, but something about it felt special. Plus, he warned me we would get spoiled when we went to brunch at his parents later. Something about River not believing in budgets.
Thoren lights a fire as I let Shadow out and start the coffee. The snow is piled high outside, a glistening white blanket, but thankfully no more is falling. I knew living in the mountains meant snowy winters, but I wasn’t prepared for multiple feet of snow. It is so serene, and I don’t find myself hating it. I usher Shadow back in, wiping down her paws and sending her to the rug in front of the fireplace to dry her pajamas.
“Shadow’s first?” I ask, passing Thoren a mug as we sit in front of the Christmas tree, one we cut down and decorated together while blasting Christmas music.
He pulls out the two wrapped presents for her, each of us helping her unwrap one. The first one is a new bag of bones which she quickly dismisses for the new purple dragon. Hers had a hole in it and we had to throw it away. She’s been moping ever since, but her ears perk up when she spots the new one.
“Our turn, big ones first,” Thoren declares. We both get up to retrieve our hidden gifts. Apparently, neither of us trusted the other not to snoop. We sit back down with an envelope in hand, as we stare at each other wide eyed. “We said big gifts, Lily,” he says accusingly,
“You literally have an envelope in your hand, too, dummy.” I hand him mine, my anxiety spiking. “You first.”
With careful fingers, he opens the envelope and pulls out the small packet of folded papers. It’s not the official documents, those are hidden in the safe upstairs, but I made copies for this. I watch his face carefully, as his expression morphs from confusion to surprise.
“I really hated that you sold land for me, so I bought you some more. Specifically, the rest of the land and the other cabin on our lane. The owners took some convincing, but we reached an agreement. I thought we could rent it out or renovate it. Maybe as your parents get older, we can convince them to move in there so we can keep a closer eye on your mom.”
Thoren looks up at me with glassy eyes and the softest expression. “You bought us a cabin to take care of my parents?”
I nod, my throat thick with emotion. I may not have my parents around, but David and Evelyn have taken me in with no questions asked and shown up for me constantly. Of course I want them close to us and want to show them an ounce of the kindness they have shown me.
Thoren pulls me into his lap, kissing me deep. “It will take a miracle to get them out of their home, but I love it. I love it so much and I love you. Thank you, baby. This is amazing and so thoughtful.”
“Good,” I croak, “Because my next gift is not nearly as thoughtful.”
He places me next to him, turning me sideways so he can see my face. “Your turn.”
I take the envelope from him, pulling open the tab and taking out the papers inside. My hands shake as I read the itinerary for a trip for two to Iceland next month. It is a week-long trip with hotels and activities all planned out for us. It is even better than the trip I dreamed of.
I turn to find him kneeling beside me on one knee, a small black box in his hands. His smile is nervous, but the glint in his eye shows pure love.
“Lily, I know we are doing this all sorts of backwards, sideways and upside-down, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. From the moment you walked into my life, you have captivated me, heart and soul. You are the reason my sun rises in the morning. The reason the flowers around me bloom, the leaves turn, and the rain falls. You are the reason my life makes sense and has purpose. Without you, I can't breathe, I can't think. You are my reason for everything, Lily. With you by my side, I have felt true peace. I want to spend the rest of my days making you feel that, too. Marry me, Lily Wilks.”
With tears streaming down my face, I tackle him, wrapping my arms around his neck. “Yes, Thoren, yes!” His arms hold me tight as I try to pull myself together. I finally pull back to take in the ring, causing more tears to fall.
Inside the small box is an oval diamond with purple gems along the band. It’s dainty and shiny, something I would have picked for myself. His hands tremble slightly as he slides the ring onto my finger before bringing it to his lips.
“It looks perfect on you, Lily James,” he muses, as he pulls me into his lap again. “I know the honeymoon is supposed to come after the wedding, but we’ve done everything else backwards; living together, trying for a baby, so I just thought we could do this the same.”
“I love you so much, Thoren James. You have shown me every day what true love looks like. You make my life bigger and brighter just by being in it. I can’t wait to be your wife.”
I kiss him deep, letting him feel the strength of my love. “But I kind of hate you right now. This really puts my other gift to shame.” I already struggled with what to get him, but went practical. I’m a practical person, and he has mentioned needing a new one of these a few times over the last month. I felt fine about the gift until now.
“Hand it over, baby.”
I pull the box from where I was sitting and place it in front of him. I watch as he rips open the wrapping, opening the box to pull out a new axe.
“This is exactly what I needed,” he says, inspecting it like a prized treasure.
“It’s no ring,” I grumble under my breath. His laugh is hearty as he puts down the axe and squeezes me tighter. “It was a selfish gift, really. I like sitting on the porch while you chop wood.”
“You just agreed to be my wife. There is no gift on this planet that can top that,” he nips at my ear. “But if it’s a close second, it’s you letting me bend you over the stump again,” he smirks. “Now you get to plan the wedding of your dreams.”
“The wedding of my dreams is right here, in our backyard, surrounded by our friends and family, and the prettiest flowers around.” I never really wanted a big wedding. I didn’t have a whole huge list of family and friends that I want to attend, and I want the day to be about Thoren and I. A beautiful white dress on a warm spring day in the place that we love sounds like a dream.
“That sounds perfect, baby. Come on, let’s go tell the family.”
