2. Chapter Two

CHAPTER TWO

ORA

Three Weeks Later

I’m putting the icing on a batch of red velvet cupcakes, daydreaming about Levi and the night I spent with him. He fucked me all night, making me come over and over again. I’ve only slept with two other men—exes of mine—and I didn’t know it could be like that. Just the flashbacks with Levi alone make me wetter than I ever was with Leo or Mason.

The things he did to me.

My cheeks heat as I remember me on all fours and him behind me with his mouth on me, telling me to touch my clit for him. There isn’t an inch of me he didn’t see that night. I woke up early and left the hotel, sneaking out before he woke up. I wonder if he’s spent any time thinking about me like I have about him.

The bell to the bakery chimes, letting me know a customer has walked in. I’m the only one here in the afternoon since it’s not usually busy after the breakfast and lunch rush.

“They have the best cinnamon rolls here that I’ve ever tasted,” I hear a woman announce, which makes me smile because I’m the one who makes the rolls using my own recipe.

“Hello,” I say, smiling in welcome at the woman first, a tall blonde wearing a tight dress and leather boots. But then my smile drops when I notice whose arm she is on. Because standing in Lu’s Sweet Treats is none other than Levi, with his arm around the blonde’s waist. His dark eyes flare as they land on mine, the two of us freezing.

And yet another surprise?

Levi is wearing a cut. A Serpents of Chaos MC cut, to be precise.

My eyes drop to the VP patch he wears.

Vice President.

Second only to my biological father.

The man I thought was passing through clearly lives here.

How come I haven’t seen him at any of the charity events?

How has the hottest night of my life come to bite me in the ass?

Fuck me.

Or not because that led me to this moment.

The blonde prattles on, oblivious to the tension in the air that is suddenly suffocating me. “Oooh, they have some of the cookie and cream slices left over too.”

I don’t miss Levi dropping his arm from around the woman, instead crossing both of them over his chest and watching me with a slightly narrowed gaze.

The bell chimes again, and I’m thankful for the reprieve—another customer to keep me busy and avoid staring at the man I was just daydreaming about, who is now here with another woman? Oh God, is this his girlfriend? He didn’t cheat on her with me, did he? Is that why we went to a hotel?

Forcing a smile, I turn to the door, only to see two more bikers.

Twins.

I’ve seen them at the charity events. Both are identical—tall, lean, and muscular with blond, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. They are wearing tight white T-shirts underneath their leather cuts, and they grin when they see me. They even have the same enforcer patch on their leather.

“Well, what do we have here?” the one on the right purrs, flashing me a charming smile I’m sure many women have lost their panties to.

And then the other twin blesses me with a slow-spreading smile of his own, giving me a once-over, lingering on my boobs a little too long to be considered polite. “I think I’ve suddenly developed a sweet tooth.”

“No, Bones, you haven’t,” Levi barks, and my attention returns to him and his girlfriend.

She gives him a funny look, then turns to me. “Could we get two rolls and two slices? Oh, and two of the chocolate croissants.”

“Sure,” I reply, packing up her order and placing it on the table. Levi comes to stand in front of me, his gaze on my face like a physical touch.

“Go wait outside,” he rumbles, and my brow furrows until I realize he’s not talking to me.

“War—”

War?

That’s his nickname?

“ Now ,” he barks, and the woman stomps her foot before walking outside.

“Both of you, too,” he orders, and the twins share a confused look before following the blonde. “You better get us something,” one of the brothers calls out through the door.

When we are alone, he leans over the pastel pink counter, bracing himself on his arms, which bulge with the movement. Yeah, they are some nice arms. It’s a shame they potentially belong to a cheater.

“You snuck out…” he says, staring into my eyes, “… without a fucking word. You gonna tell me why?”

“Pretty sure that’s what a one-night stand is,” I reply, picking up some other desserts and putting them into a tray for the twins. I slide them both in front of him, avoiding his heated stare until I have to. “Let me guess, it’s usually you doing the running out?”

Dark eyes flash with annoyance.

Yep.

I bet it’s the first time a woman has left him alone in bed. I get a sick sense of satisfaction at that fact.

“I wasn’t done with you.”

My eyes narrow. This cocky bastard.

Well, I’m done with this conversation. “That will be forty dollars. Wouldn’t want to keep your little girlfriend waiting.”

His lips twitch like I’ve said something amusing. “Give me your phone.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m going to give you my number, and I’m going to get yours. Then tomorrow, I’m going to come pick you up and take you for a ride.”

Yeah, I know what kind of ride he wants to give me. My brows furrow as I look toward the door, where the blonde is waiting for him. “No, thank you.”

He pulls out his wallet and places a stack of money on the counter, then picks up one of the trays. I nod to the second one. “For the twins.”

His jaw instantly tightens, any humor in his eyes disappearing. “You don’t give the twins anything, Ora.”

“I can do what I want, War ,” I reply, pasting a fake smile on my lips. “And I’m many things, but I’m not a home-wrecker. So fuck you if you made me one.”

“Jealousy looks good on you, baby,” he replies, flashing me a smug grin before picking up the trays and walking out.

When I count the money, there’s one hundred dollars.

I don’t need his sixty-dollar tip.

I simply need him to leave me alone.
