Chapter 12 #2
“You’re fine.” He said when he got to ten.
Turning back around he looked at the woman, considering if he should move father in line with the front of the car to make things easier on her neck.
Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he asked, “Is this position comfortable on your neck or do you want me to move farther forward?”
She gave a light shake of her head. She was obviously confused about what was happening. “No. This is fine.” She hesitated. “Ansell, what’s going on?”
“Use your jacket to bite down on.” He said, rather than answer.
She frowned disagreeably. ”Ansell, I don’t think—”
“Do it or I’m going inside.” He put his foot down. Figuratively. He wasn’t about to watch her choke on her own tongue from shock and he definitely had no intentions of doing this more than once. She’d do it or he wouldn’t. Simple as that.
She heaved a reluctant sigh, but did as he requested.
“Tie it behind your head so it won’t fall off.”
She hesitated a moment before doing as he’d told her. He waited until her hands were back on the trunk.
“Do I have permission to touch you?”
Her first instinct was to speak, but it came out garbled by the gag at her mouth.
It was probably something about how far away he was or to ask what he was doing again or whatever.
Either way, Ansell’s patience was wearing thin.
It was time for him to go get some much needed rest and the sooner they finished here, the sooner he could go upstairs to his apartment.
She nodded uncomfortably and he sighed. He couldn’t believe he was actually doing this, but he reached for and coaxed gently the ever waiting reserve of magick within him.
He closed his eyes and let his head roll back as he felt it fill him.
Soothe him, strengthen him. His magick was tired as well, but apparently he was bursting with embryonic magick.
There was almost an overabundance and he wasn’t entirely certain what to do with it all or much less where it had come from, but this definitely explained his recent moodiness and reticence.
He sighed again, rolling his head forward to drop his chin to his chest and brought up a hand to scratch between his eyebrows with his thumb nail.
She was watching him. He could feel the way her gaze held to him doubtfully.
He really didn’t want to do this. . . But then, he’d already said that he would.
And he was nothing if not a man of his word.
She mumbled something around her gag that sounded a bit like his name as he pursed his lips resolutely, stuffing his hand back into his pocket. She had technically given him permission, but he really hoped he didn’t just scare the hell out of her.
Shaking his head, Ansell reached for her with his magick, envisioning two spectral hands reaching out to touch her. It was the same type of magick used for telekinesis. . . Just in a slightly different form.
He envisioned touching her. Running the backs of his fingers down the soft smooth skin of her cheek.
She gasped and he opened his eyes to see her looking in the opposite direction.
Looking for someone to be there he suspected.
“I won’t let anyone approach you.” He called over the short distance to her.
When she turned back to him, brows knit on her forehead and eyes unsure, he said.
“Keep your eyes on me. Don’t look away.”
Her brows bunched further together on her forehead in obvious unease.
“I won’t hurt you.” He watched as she cast another glance behind her and he touched her again.
Envisioning his intangible fingers touching her chin and applying a light pressure.
Turning her back to look at him. She obeyed easily enough.
She didn’t fight or struggle, but her eyes did widen considerably in her beautiful mocha face, her skin paling.
He used his actual hand to motion, touching between his eyes and then pointing as though touching her between hers.
“Right here.” He said as he synchronized the phantasmic touch between her eyes and projected his soft speech to echo around her.
“Don’t look away.” He stuck his hand back in his pocket.
“Want to up the ante?” He raised an eyebrow at her.
She nodded hesitantly and he said. “Lean onto the car if you need support.”
She frowned around the gag, started mumbling and then gasped when he ran an invisible hand down her clothed side.
He could feel the smooth fabric of the woman’s maternity shirt.
How it was so soft and cool to the touch.
He ran a hand down over her rounding stomach, keeping the cloth between his spectral skin and hers.
Right now, he was only focused on transmitting sensation.
Sascha twitched, chin falling as though she wanted to look down and see who was touching her, but she forced herself to hold his gaze.
He figured a reward was in order. He knew it had to be hard to resist one’s instincts.
Especially when it was a bit less than a week to the full moon.
He breathed a smile. “I’d ask if you had any questions so far, but seeing as your mouth is a bit indisposed, just nod or shake your head.
” He glanced at the ground before looking back at her and running a thumb gently along her jawline. “Do I have permission to touch you?”
Her brows came together with such force, it seemed as though she had a unibrow when she frowned at him. This time she didn’t attempt to speak though.
“Yes or no, Sascha.” He said firmly, seriously. “I need an answer.”
After a moment’s hesitation, she nodded.
He smiled. “Good girl.” He crooned, throwing his voice to sound at her right ear. He took a deep breath and sighed. He’d get her off once and go to bed.
