3. Chapter 3 #4

One hand dropped to his balls, rolling and palming them. Milo had already been flirting with the edge, but that tipped him right over and he came with a scream, hips almost arching off the ground before he realized he’d choke Rowan and managed to curb the instinct.

He flopped back onto his bedroll, wide eyes staring sightlessly up at the sky. Holy shit. That had been… No words. No words existed to describe it. Definitely the best oral sex of his life. Was this what actual chemistry felt like?

Rowan stood up, fetching a cloth from the cart before coming back to him. He even carried the cloak Milo had thought he’d oh-so-carefully hidden behind a trunk. Under his incredulous eyes, Rowan just matter-of-factly cleaned Milo up and fixed his shirt and pants. He even redid the buttons!

Milo tried to remember the last person who’d been so considerate of him after sex.

Drew a blank. Memory insisted no one had been.

Two thoughts collided: One, Rowan had said everyone he’d dated had broken up with him.

Two, this man was a very considerate lover.

So naturally, what Milo blurted out was: “Every single person who broke up with you is insane.”

Rowan paused, still kneeling on his bedroll, and oh, there was his little smile again. The one showing he was quite pleased. “Because my mouth on you felt that good?”

“Well, yeah, but also because you’re so considerate of me after it’s over.”

Twin brows twitched into a line, Rowan’s frown deepening. “This is a pretty basic thing to do.”

“Not basic, good sir.” Milo snorted in denial. “Not basic at all. I’ve had plenty of sex, and not a single other man has done this for me.”

“You’ve also dated assholes,” Rowan pointed out.

“Uh. You got me there.”

Rowan stood up, tossed the cloth into the cart, then returned to the bedroll. He donned his shirt before lying down on his own bed but offered an arm. It took Milo a second longer than it should have for him to realize Rowan was offering cuddles.

Hell yeah, cuddles!

He promptly scooted in closer and snuggled his way under Rowan’s chin, arm around his waist, so happy he could have expired on the spot. Cuddling was another sore spot with those other lovers, something Milo had to wheedle or bargain for. Rowan just offering it was delightful.

Also the man’s downfall. Milo was absolutely latching on to this teddy bear. “Rowan?”

“Hmm?”

“Can we date?”

Rowan paused, then tilted his head down to look at Milo. The way his eyes narrowed, brows mushed together, showed how taken aback he was. “Because the sex was good?”

If Milo had to guess, those other people who had broken this man’s heart again and again were why Rowan looked so baffled right now. Milo made a mental note to get their names later so he could curse them all properly. How fucking dare they do that to Rowan.

“That’s part of it,” Milo admitted candidly.

“But also because you’re really sweet to me.

I mean, you spent half a day with me and didn’t once try to shut me up, or hit me, or anything!

It’s incredible. I annoy people sometimes, I know I do, although it’s never on purpose.

But you’re not annoyed with me. Third reason is you’re not an asshole.

Fourth reason is I like you. Fifth reason—”

“I have to ask, how many reasons do you have?”

“I can keep going for, like, an hour? Maybe longer.”

Milo would have expanded on his list except Rowan’s expression changed. It softened, his lips curving up a little more beneath his beard, almost into a full-blown smile. There was a new warmth in his eyes that stole Milo’s breath away.

“I don’t find you annoying,” Rowan murmured, sweeping a hand over Milo’s hair in a gentle caress. “We can date if you’d like.”

“Yes!” Milo hauled him back in for a kiss, and to his delight, Rowan simply laughed before kissing him back.

Rowan was the one who eventually ended the kiss. “Don’t get me riled up again. Tomorrow, we’ll stop at a town for the night.”

Milo heard the unspoken words. “Oil and bed?”

“Oil and bed,” Rowan agreed, stealing another kiss.

“And you’ll fuck me hard enough to break my back?”

“You need your back, Milo.” Leaning in, he huskily whispered against Milo’s ear, the words enough to send a shiver up and down his spine. “But I’ll fuck you until you can’t walk tomorrow.”

“Fuck yeah,” Milo agreed dreamily.

“For now, sleep.”

“Sure. Oh, are you a side sleeper, stomach, back?”

“Mostly side.”

“Want to be the big spoon to my little spoon, then?”

Rowan nodded, and they arranged themselves into something more comfortable and conducive to sleep, Rowan moving the cloak so it was tucked around them.

Honestly, Milo expected it to take a minute for him to settle. He was so excited for a bed tomorrow, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to even sleep tonight. But the second he got comfortable, Rowan’s heat warming him up, he found his eyelids drooping.

Turned out getting a new boyfriend was exhausting. Who’da thunk?

Notes:

AJ: Milo. Milo, seriously, you jump the man twelve hours after meeting him?

Milo: I was tragically born without a restraint button.

AJ: Clearly.
