Chapter 6 #4

“The detective just hit me a couple of hours ago. They closed the case. They did all their digging, and they couldn’t find out who was responsible for popping Toby, so they dropped it.

I got that fuckin monkey off my back, and I’m about to go, and celebrate.

Come party with us tonight,” Rico was hype.

Hearing him say that, it caused me to smile.

I was worried about this nigga. I knew that Rico wasn’t a killer, so I had fears that he didn’t cover his tracks correctly, and that he was going to get caught.

Hearing him announce that the case had been closed, and that that was one less thing for him to worry about, it made me happy.

“You had a lot of people praying for you, man. My mama ain’t stop praying for you since I told her what happened.

My girl put your name on the prayer list at church, so they prayed over you too.

I been over here praying as well. That’s good shit, Rico.

I swear I would have lost my fuckin mind if you had to go to prison.

That shit would have honestly hurt me, man.

That’s one monkey off your back. What about football though?

Where you at with that?” I wanted to know.

“So, a few days ago, I pulled up on attorney Alecia King? You know her? Her fine ass,” he said, and I laughed at that.

“I don’t know her personally, but I know who she is.

She gangsta in that court room, I heard.

Her nigga used to move dope. Montana had the streets on lock,” I called out, remembering the time when Montana was moving weight throughout Miami, and now like a lot of us, he’d gone legit, and was making his money the legal way.

“Yeah. Shit, I thought that I was going to be facing a murder charge, so I pulled up on her, needing her to represent me. She was able to get me in for a meeting the next day. It’s crazy because in the meeting, she was telling me that she believed they would drop the case because they didn’t have the evidence to pin it on me.

I got her on payroll now, so if I ever find myself in some shit again, all I gotta do is hit her up.

As far as football, she was able to get me hooked up with a sports attorney because you know that’s not really her field.

I have a meeting with him tomorrow. He’s helped some of the biggest athletes in the game get out of the stickiest situations.

Man, I’m hoping that I can apologize to the league, and they just hit my ass with a fine or something.

I ain’t the first nigga to do some dumb ass shit like this, and I know that I’m not going to be the last,” he let me know.

“Yeah but we not worrying about what other niggas did, or what they doing. We worried about you. I personally feel like you need to sit the fuck down and stay inside tonight. The case may be dropped, but shit might still be hot out there for you, you know? What’s Toby’s cousin’s name?

The nigga that pulled up to grandma’s crib with him that day,” I wanted to know.

“Jax. I ain’t worried about that nigga. Toby was the mastermind between the two of them. Toby was the nigga that would slide and handle his business. Jax not like that. He was a follower. He followed behind whatever it was that Toby would do,” he said, and I sucked my teeth at that bullshit.

“Ay, don’t ever underestimate what a nigga would do, especially when it comes to him sliding, and wanting his get back for his family.

We underestimated that Toby would be a green ass nigga and turn over the shit that he had you doing, yet he still did it.

I ain’t trying to be your daddy, or tell you how to move, but just move smart is all I’m saying.

Case might be closed, but it’s some street niggas that may still feel like you popped Toby, and they might want their get back.

Just sit the fuck down is all I’m saying,” I voiced, and like it was funny, he started laughing.

“You over there in a relationship now, and you turning into an old fuckin man. The old Tank used to love going outside,” he said.

“I have more fun when I’m in the house with my lady. Ain’t shit out there for me, man. As you get older, you’ll understand that shit,” I finished.

What I said to him went in one ear, and out the other because he was still going to go out and do what he wanted to do. I kept my foot on his neck though, letting him know to be safe, and to hit me tomorrow after his meeting with the lawyer.

I finished up my food, which was good as fuck by the way, so when I made it back upstairs to the room, I was going to have to wake Dionne up and let her know that she did a good job with dinner.

Once I finished, I washed the dishes, and I went out back for a little bit, so that I could sit, and chill with Noir.

I missed my girl while I was away. Dionne knew how to take care of Noir while I was away.

I still hadn’t taught her to how to ride her yet because we always had a lot of shit going on, but the maintenance part, and the other basics, she knew what to do because I’d taught her, and she was eager to learn.

She knew how to put hay out in the mornings and evenings.

She knew how to check her trough a couple of times out of the day, making sure that it was clean.

She would give her stall light cleaning if it needed it, light grooming, which was mainly just brushing her because I hadn’t taught her the deeper shit. Dionne was good with Noire.

I stayed out here with my girl for about twenty minutes, and then I went inside the house. I closed the sliding boor back, put the alarm on, and I jogged upstairs.

I got in bed with Dionne, spooning her from behind, burying my head into the crook of her neck, and placing my right hand between her legs. I had to hold onto that pussy when I went to sleep. It was a must at this point.

She jumped at my touch, but her body settled back.

“You cooked that food for real, or you had somebody come, and make it?” I asked her.

She let out an annoyed breath, and that shit made me laugh.

“Answer what I asked you,” I wanted to know.

“I cooked it. Let me sleepppp,” she whined, not wanting shit to do with a nigga right now because she wanted her rest.

“That food was good baby. Good job. Goodnight,” I responded, kissing her neck.

She didn’t say anything else because she went back to sleep. It wasn’t long before I closed my eyes and joined her. I prayed for more quiet, peaceful nights like this. Seems like all we were getting these days was a bunch of bullshit. I loved the quietness. The peacefulness. Shit, the calm.
