Chapter 7 #2

I stood up as well, and I picked Bagel up, so that I could walk him back over to his bed.

I wasn’t the type of doggy mom that would keep my baby locked up in a cage.

I didn’t even own a cage. The only time Bagel was in a cage is when I first purchased him, and that first month of potty training him.

After that, I was able to train him to the point where he was such a well-behaved dog, and when I left the house, he wouldn’t destroy it.

“Where we going to go?” I asked them, after I stood up, and stopped loving on my baby.

“It’s this new lounge about twenty minutes away from here. They were hyping it up on TikTok. Supposedly, the food and drinks are good. They say that they play good music too. It’s a chill spot, so we are cool with what we have on. We don’t have to go super dressy,” Free announced.

My attire for this evening was super laid back.

I was in a pair of light blue distressed jeans.

They fit perfect around my waist, but the jeans themselves weren’t tight or anything on me.

I wore a white, cropped tank top, which exposed my stomach.

Before we went shopping this morning, I was up bright and early, going to the salon, so that I could get my hair washed, treated, and a nice blow out.

Instead of getting my hair bone straight, I opted on some cute, beach curls, and it’s been hours later, and my curls were still intact.

My Dior slides were sitting by the door, which matched my Dior purse that I grabbed from the kitchen counter, where I left it, once we were in the house.

We all had everything, so we walked out of the house together, I locked the door behind us, and we headed down to the elevator, where I had to use my key fob to even get the elevator doors to open.

“See, this is why I like you living over here. The security is top of the fuckin line. Just to get on the elevator, you gotta have a key fob. I like that because you don’t have to worry about somebody popping up on you, or trying to break into your house,” Tommie said the second we got on the elevator.

“Trust me, criminals are smart, so they’ll find a way,” is what I said, but it’s not what I wanted to say.

I wanted to use Garrus as an example, but then I would be forced to tell my sisters what had taken place between the two of us, and I didn’t want to do that.

They still didn’t know about it, and to be honest, I didn’t have any plans of saying anything.

We eventually made it out of the elevator, and we walked through the building, going out front, where valet was, and Free’s jeep was still parked out front.

When we’d got here earlier, she asked them if they could leave her truck out front, since we were going to come back.

She dug into her purse, handing the valet driver a tip, and he thanked her as he walked around the truck, opening all the doors for us.

I sat in the passenger seat, while Tommie got in the back, and Free was the designated driver.

Before she pulled out, she put the name of the lounge into the navigation system, and I looked at the map, seeing the route, and I also was able to see what was near the lounge.

The first thing that I saw was the Pilates spot that I used to go, along with the smoke shop named Pure 24k.

This lounge that we were getting ready to go to was in the same plaza as Tank’s smoke shop.

I saw that, scratched at my hair, and I sighed.

“Can we go to another spot?” I asked, as Free was pulling out of the valet area.

“No. Go to another spot for what? Me, and Free been wanting to check this spot out for weeks,” Tommie’s ass said from the back seat. I didn’t want to be the shit starter for tonight, so I just sighed, keeping quiet, not wanting to get into it with my sisters.

“Why don’t you want to go to the lounge anymore? Free asked me, as she stopped the car at a red light.

“Nothing,” was all I said, and she rolled her eyes at me.

“And I hope you get a fuckin drink when we get there too. I can already tell that your about to work my damn nerves,” Free spat, reaching for the nob, so that she could turn the music up in the car.

What would have been a twenty-minute drive, turned into fifteen because Free drove so fuckin fast. The plaza where the lounge was located was a busy plaza, so when we arrived, there wasn’t many places to park.

The lounge offered valet, but the valet services had a sign out front, informing everyone that valet was full.

Free had to circle this big ass parking lot, and before we knew it, we were on the side where Tank’s smoke shop was.

I squinted at the sign on his door, so that I could see what time he closed, and it said that they closed at 9:00 P.M. It was about ten minutes after nine.

I didn’t think that my sisters knew that that was Tank’s smoke shop because the second we saw it, they would have called it out.

I only knew from when I saw him as I was leaving Pilates, and he’d told me.

“Here goes one right here. You almost got your wish Dionne because I was getting ready to leave, and find another spot,” Free said, turning her head to look at me.

Someone was getting in their car, and Free turned on her turn signal, so that she could wait for the spot.

Free damn near raced for the spot, drove past it, so that she could back in park the car.

“You drive so fuckin un-lady like,” I spat, which made Tommie crack up laughing from the back seat.

“My man loves it,” she shot back at me.

“I’m sure he does,” I sassed, opening the door, now that she had the car parked.

The second we got out the car, my eyes were on the door of the smoke shop, and because these days, God has been having a field day making me the butt of a joke, I saw where the door was opening from the inside.

I was standing here, literally fighting like hell for it to be anyone other than Tank that walked out of the door, and sure enough, it was him, and he was carrying a classic Louis Vuitton briefcase in his hands, and for some reason, I felt like that briefcase might have been filled with money.

He turned around, so that he could lock the door, and as he was doing that, you could see the gun that was showcased in the back of his jeans. Tommie and Free were too busy talking amongst themselves that they hadn’t seen him yet.

“Let’s go this way,” I said, pulling Free’s hand, so that we could all just cut through the parking lot.

“Dionne, girl why would we walk through the damn parking lot when we could just walk through the shopping strip? Come on,” Free argued, still having her hand in mine, but she tried to direct me, and go the other way.

I didn’t even have to announce why I was trying to cut through the parking lot because she eventually looked over, and she saw Tank. Her and Tommie saw him because they giggled, as they looked at each other, and then back at me.

“Oh bitch, this is why you wanted to change the location? How the hell you knew his shop was here?” Tommie inquired.

“I saw him one day when I was leaving my Pilates class. Don’t say anything to him,” I argued because I knew how Tommie was. Her ass talked too fuckin much.

“Heyyyy Tank,” Tommie did the exact opposite of what I told her to do. I wasn’t even a violent person, but I wanted to fight her ass. I really did.

Free thought the shit was so funny because she was cracking up, as we walked up. Tank saw the three of us, and he started smiling. His eyes literally only stayed on my sisters for about two seconds, before he did that thing where he turned to look at me, and he boldly did it.

“What’s good with ya’ll? What ya’ll got going on?

” he asked, once we approached him. Like we were all family, and my sisters were his sisters-in-law, he went for them, giving them one armed hugs, and when he got to me, he stood right in front of me, both hands on his briefcase, holding it below him, and he had a smile on his face, watching me, wanting to see what my next move was going to be.

“We’re about to go to the lounge that’s on the other side,” Free responded to him.

“Oh yeah? I’ll walk ya’ll over there, and get ya’ll in. My homie owns that spot,” he took his eyes off me for a second, so that he could respond to Free.

“We didn’t know your smoke shop was right here,” Tommie released.

“Your sister knew. Didn’t you, Dionne?” he asked me. I sighed, not answering his question. When I ignored him, he laughed.

“Damn, you back being mean to me, baby? We had a fun night the last time you were around me, and now you treating me like a stranger all over again,” he voiced, and when he said that, I wanted to kill him, and then turn around, and kill my sisters for the loud ass outburst that they were making.

“Wait, wait. When did the two of you have a fun night out together? Dionne, what the fuck?” Free asked, as if she was genuinely offended that I wouldn’t tell her that I hung out with Tank.

“It was nothing like that. He happened to be at the same place that I was,” I lied. Well, I didn’t lie. I just left certain details out.

“And tell them the rest. Don’t leave shit out.

We left that place, and I took you to a nice lounge, and had your ass there with me until three in the morning.

Ima tell all your fuckin business. You took shots with me, we exchanged numbers, and you even let me get a little hug from you at the end of the night,” he was getting a kick out of this, as he stood here, smiling the entire time that he was snitching on me, and my sisters were getting a kick out of it as well, as they were screaming like some dumb ass schoolgirls.

“Oh, we got a lot to talk about when we get a booth tonight,” Free said to me, once she calmed down.

“What kind of products you have in your shop, Tank? Dionne don’t smoke, but me, and Free do,” Tommie said to him.
