Chapter 14 #2

My eyes danced around the room, and they landed on Dionne, who was in her own little world.

She was sitting with my cousin Seren, my auntie Shawn, and the other women that were in the family.

Dionne fit right in with them, in which I knew she would.

Dionne didn’t know shit about football, so on the way over here, I was trying to explain little shit to her, that I could tell was only going in one ear, and out the other.

She told me that she’s been to games before, but she still didn’t understand how football worked.

I went to the back of the room, filling my plate with meatballs, hamburger sliders, and a slice of pizza. Once I had everything on my plate, I walked over to where Dionne was, standing behind the chair that she was sitting in, and she turned her head, so that she could look back at me.

“You good?” I asked her, and she smiled, letting me know that she was fine.

“We got her. Gone on,” my auntie Shawn responded.

“Shit, I’m just trying to make sure my lady good. That’s all,” I let her know.

The game eventually came to an end, and we lost. As much as I wanted to get in Rico’s ass about what just happened, I had to accept that all players had their good, and their bad games.

From what I saw, the nigga tried his best, but Bama just tried harder.

I wasn’t going to get on him once I saw him because I’m sure that he was already feeling down about the loss.

We’d piled out of the suite that we were in, so that we could meet him out back. I was walking in the back of the women, while they were in front of us.

“Dionne,” I called out for her, and she turned around, looking for me, and once her eyes landed, she smiled, and walked over.

I fucked with the outfit that she had on tonight.

She had on a pair of light blue, denim shorts, and the shorts were tight, and short on her, showing off her long, slender, but firm thighs, and legs.

She wore a white thank top, with a green, and white bomber jacket.

Beige, Givenchy shark boots were on her feet, which really made her look a 10/10 look.

She wore make-up, that she did herself, and it was applied so fuckin beautifully.

Her hair, that she’d gotten done was in a middle part, with bouncy curls.

Because of the way she had the arm of the left side of the jacket rolled up a little bit, you could see her pricey bracelet stack that she was rocking, and once she was closer to me, I got a whiff of her perfume, that smelled good, just like it always did.

“I had so much fun, Tank. I want to come to football games all the time,” her bougie ass told me, making me laugh.

“What was the score, bae?” I asked because I knew damn well her ass didn’t know.

“I don’t know. I know they lost, but it was still fun. I gotta use the restroom,” she let me know.

“Aight, go ahead. Ima wait out here for you,” I stated, and before she walked off, she kissed me on the lips, and I stood out, waiting for her to handle her business.

The rest of my family had already walked off, so I would just meet up with them. I stood outside of the restrooms, with my hands in my pockets, waiting for Dionne to come back.

As I was posted up, a group of women could be heard laughing, as they made their way through the rest of the crowd.

I looked over, seeing that it was Renee, and she was with her homegirls.

I quickly tried to look away, but our eyes had already locked, and I read her lips, seeing where she told her girls to wait up for her because she was going to come and speak to me.

All I could think about was all the reassurance that I had been giving to Dionne, telling her that she didn’t have to worry about Renee, so the plan was to make this shit quick, so that Dionne didn’t see her when she came out of the restroom.

“I been calling you,” was the first thing that she said when she made it to me.

“And you know why I haven’t been answering. Watch out. Go back over there with your girls,” I responded, and she sucked her teeth.

“Tank don’t be like this. You know I didn’t mean any of that shit that I said.

I said it out of anger, and to hurt you.

Who are you here with? I’ll leave my girls and go back with you.

Let me make it up to you,” she bribed, and just as I was moving myself from against the wall, so that I could walk away, Dionne walked out of the restroom, and because I was standing right outside of it, the second she walked out, her head tuned, looked at me, and Renee, and that plain look that she had on her face, was quickly replaced by one of annoyance.

I pulled Dionne by her arm, and when Renee saw me do that, she got angry.

“This bitch,” I heard her mumble.

“The same bitch you swore you didn’t like is the same bitch that you ended up with. You’re a motha fuckin joke,” Renee spat.

“Watch that bitch word. I haven’t disrespected you, so don’t disrespect me!” Dionne spat, trying to walk closer to Renee, but I grabbed her arm tighter, not going to let her do it.

“Girl, fuck you! I can call you whatever the fuck I want! I asked this nigga about you, and he swore that ya’ll didn’t have shit going on!” she screamed.

“Bitch because we didn’t have anything going on!

The fact that you even had to question him about me should prove to you that he was checking for me.

I’m pretty, but I’ll fight. I’m telling you, you better crawl back to wherever you just left.

I’m not going to be a lot of more bitches,” Dionne wasn’t even yelling at her.

She was calm, and usually, the calmest ones are the ones that will show out.

“Move around. Go back over there with your girls,” I said to Renee, trying to defuse the situation.

“Tank, fuck you!” was all she said to me, and then she stormed off.

I kept my eyes on her, watching her as she went over to her girls, and I saw the way her neck was rolling, finger was twirling, as she pointed back, telling them what just finished happening.

“Strike one Tavion,” Dionne snapped, snatching her hand away from me. I laughed, while pulling her my way again.

“Nah, don’t count that. Ima be real baby; you and I both knew that something like that might have happened. Don’t give me a strike for something another bitch did. She was over here for less than a minute before you came out the restroom,” I said, hands on her ass, pulling her closer.

“I don’t care. You better check the bitch or something because I’m not going to be arguing with your hoes every time that I step out the house. I told you that I live a peaceful life, and I want it to remain that way. Get your hoe in check!” she snapped.

“Aight. Calm down, bad ass. That fake ass tough shit don’t scare me!” I replied, taking a hand off her ass, so that I could slap her on it.

“I only give out two strikes. One more, and I’m done,” she threatened me.

“Come on. Your ass tripping,” I said, pulling her hand, so that we could meet back up with the rest of the family.

I held her hand, as we walked through the crowd. Not going to lie, I was a little worried. I guess I was so happy that I got Dionne, that I totally forgot about the bullshit that we could possibly face with Renee.

I knew the kind of woman that Renee was.

She wasn’t going to easily let this shit go with me, and Dionne being together.

She was going to try and shake shit up. On the other hand, I knew Dionne, and I believed her when she told me that she wasn’t going to stick around for bullshit.

I could look at her and tell that she was dead ass serious about a nigga only having one strike left.

I felt like all my fuckin strikes were going to come from Renee fuckin with Dionne, and I didn’t want that to be the way that I lost my girl. This was some bullshit.
