Chapter Twenty-One
Jaxton
“Kam and Lennox have been back with us for nearly a week now, and in that time, we've barely left the house—hell, barely left Avery's side. Her bedroom has become our sanctuary, but let’s be honest, it doesn’t even need to be her bedroom. We've had her against the kitchen counter, the living room wall, over the back of the couch, and once, bent over the dryer mid-cycle. There's not a corner in this place that doesn’t carry the memory of her skin pressed against it.
We’re insatiable.
Her curves are a goddamn masterpiece—full and soft, with just the right amount of resistance beneath our hands. Every time she walks by, I feel myself stirring, aching for her all over again like it’s the first time. And judging by the dark heat in my brothers’ eyes, I know they’re suffering the same sweet torture. It’s like we’re all starving, and Avery is the only thing that can satisfy the hunger.
But it’s more than lust. It’s connection. It’s need.
And right now, waking up to her warm, bare body tucked tightly against mine—her firm, delicious ass nestled against my morning wood—yeah, this day is starting out no different. My breath hitches, hips twitching of their own accord, and I know without question...
I was a goner the second she shifted against me.
There’s no way I’m making it through the morning without having her again—not with the way her body fits perfectly against mine, her warmth bleeding into me, her scent driving every thought from my mind but one.
My fingers flex on her hip, unable to resist pulling her closer. She lets out a soft, breathy moan, the kind that makes my pulse spike and my control unravel.
The sheets rustle around us, a quiet signal that we’re not the only ones awake—or affected. I feel the mattress dip slightly as someone slides closer.
Kam’s voice comes low and warm, brushing against Avery’s lips like a kiss. “Morning, baby.”
The way she hums in response—content, loved, safe—damn near undoes me.
“Morning,”
she murmurs, her voice thick with sleep, soft and sweet like a lullaby meant just for me.
She twists in my arms, her body rubbing against mine with slow, unintentional temptation. “Morning, Jax.”
A groan escapes me before I can stop it. “Jesus, Kitten… you’re gonna be the death of me.”
I press a kiss to her shoulder, my teeth grazing her skin just enough to make her shiver. “Are you sore?”
I ask, part concern, part cockiness, searching her eyes for the answer.
Instead of replying right away, she wiggles against me again—her body giving the answer before her lips do. “I need you,”
she whispers, and those three words hit harder than a freight train.
That’s all it takes.
The rest of the world fades as I wrap my hand around her waist, drawn in by the need simmering between us. Her breath hitches, her body already welcoming, already mine. The connection is electric—hot and grounding all at once. It’s all I need to hear, to notch my cock at her entrance, and slide home. A groan vibrates my chest, as I cup her breast, and slam home again. “Always so wet and tight for me.”
She moans softly at my words, her breath catching just before I press another teasing bite to her neck—a reward and a promise wrapped in one. “Kam, play with our girls clit, yeah?”
“My pleasure. Anything for our girl,”
Kamden murmurs, his voice thick with desire. The moment his fingers find her, she trembles, a shiver tearing through her. He captures her moan with a kiss, deepening it instantly as their tongues tangle in a heated dance, pulling her further into the pleasure.
Her breathing increases and by the way she’s clenching around me, she’s not going to last much longer.
“That’s it. Squeeze me tight.”
I encourage her, slapping the cheek of her ass softly, then biting the tendon of her neck. She tightens around me with a force that steals my breath—her release crashing through her so hard, I can’t even thrust. For a few seconds, all I can do is hold still, savoring the pulsing grip of her climax as it ripples through her, drawing every last ounce of control from my body. “Good girl. Now hang onto Kam, baby, I’m going to fuck this pussy hard.”
She responds instantly, wrapping her arms around Kam’s neck and pressing a soft, lingering kiss on his lips.
I take the cue and start to move, building momentum with each deep stroke.
It doesn’t take long before we’re both gasping, lost in the rhythm.
Her sweet cries echo off the walls—soft, breathy squeaks of pleasure that no kiss could ever muffle—as I drive into her again and again, chasing the edge we both crave.
“That’s it. Fuck, baby. Right there. Best. Fucking. Pussy.”
A guttural groan tears from my throat as release crashes over me—hot, intense, and deeper than anything I’ve ever felt. My body shudders, overtaken by the sheer force of it, leaving me breathless and completely unraveled. “Fuu—”
The word splinters as wave after wave of aftershocks rip through me, leaving my body twitching and drained. “Damn,”
I finally breathe out, pressing a kiss to her shoulder, then gently guiding her face toward mine for a lingering kiss. “Love you, Kitten,” I whisper against her lips, my hand trailing down to give her ass a playful smack. “No way the twins slept through that. Go give them and Kam a proper good morning.”
Her lips part, a knowing smile tugging at the corners, ready with a teasing reply—but before she can speak, Kamden’s voice cuts in with playful intent.
“Don’t mind if I do.”
He grabs her hips with firm hands and draws her toward him, guiding her off my cock and seamlessly onto his waiting length. A low growl rumbles from his chest as he hooks her top leg over his hip, driving into her with slow, powerful thrusts that leave no question of his intent.
Her head falls back, nearly brushing my chest as she cries out, completely undone by the pleasure. “Yes—Kammy, harder! Don’t stop!”
she gasps, her voice thick with need and bliss.
The sound of his nickname on her lip’s snaps something inside him. In a blur of motion, he shifts their positions—taking control as he moves over her, lifting her knees until they’re hooked over his elbows. She’s nearly folded in half beneath him, completely at his mercy.
It’s hard to tear my eyes away, but movement in the background catches my attention—Liam and Lennox are sitting up now, fully awake and quietly taking in the scene, their gazes locked on Avery with a mix of awe and hunger. Both stroking their lengths in appreciation of our girl’s insatiable appetite.
“Come on, Sunshine. Come on my cock. Let me feel you squeeze me again.”
Moments after his words leave his mouth, she cries out her release, head tilted back as her voice echoes toward the ceiling. “Fuck, yes. That’s it…”
Kam lets out a deep, guttural groan, his hips jerking in short, desperate thrusts before going still.
Their heavy breathing fills the room as he leans in, brushing tender kisses along her lips, whispering something soft and intimate meant only for her.
After a long moment, he presses a gentle kiss to the tip of her nose and slowly pulls back, giving her one last lingering look before easing away.
“You ready for us, Bee?”
Liam slides in beside her with quiet confidence, then gently shifts her until she’s straddling his lap.
His hands find her hips as he guides her down onto him, both of them letting out a low gasp as their bodies connect.
His head falls back against the pillow, a groan escaping his lips so raw and deep it makes me grin—because I know that sound.
I know exactly what it feels like to be wrapped in her warmth, to be completely consumed by her.
Liam slides his hands up her sides, cupping her breasts with a reverence that sends a shiver down her spine.
His touch draws a soft gasp from her lips, and she arches into him, instinctively rocking forward in a slow, sensual rhythm.
“Fuck, yes.”
He groans, the sound low and raw, as one hand slips from her breast to her hip, fingers tightening with purpose. With gentle control, he guides her movements, helping her rock back and forth along his length, drawing out every delicious inch with each glide.
“Yes, yes! Liam… God, you’re so deep,”
she moans, her voice a sultry purr as she rolls her hips with slow, purposeful grace. Her body moves like a wave against him, chasing every ounce of pleasure while Lennox shifts behind her, eyes dark with hunger as he moves into position.
“Lean forward for me, Honeybee,”
Lennox murmurs, pressing a soft kiss between her shoulder blades as he gently guides her down against Liam’s chest. His voice drops, husky and wicked. “Ever been filled by two cocks at once? Either hole?”
The raw edge in his tone sends a shiver straight down her spine.
“No,”
she moans, the word breathy and laced with anticipation—but the way her hips roll, needy and inviting, says she’s more than ready to try.
“Hmm…”
Lenn rubs the beautiful globes of her ass, while we all watch Liam slide in and out of her wet pussy. “We’ll save your ass for another day then. That means you get two cocks in this pussy. You think you can handle the twin bond? You want both of us sliding inside you at the same time?”
The wonton moan that leaves Avery is out of this world. I’m full-on hard again, watching them play. Fuck, this is the best show. I grip my hard cock and start pumping as I watch Lennox line himself up with her already full pussy and stretch her even wider, slipping in slowly, as he makes both Avery and Liam groan with pleasure.
"Almost there, Honeybee," Lennox murmurs, his voice thick with need. "Let me hear you hum for me." He eases forward, slow and steady, until he’s fully seated, filling every inch with reverent precision.
I swear, every single one of us lets out a groan. Even Kamden, who’s on the other side of the bed—partially blocked by the show in front of us—can’t keep quiet. His low, guttural sound confirms it. This isn’t just morning affection anymore… it’s a full-blown, no-holds-barred fuck-fest.
Only minutes in, and the room is filled with a symphony of breathy gasps and soft moans. The connection between all of us feels electric, humming just beneath the surface. My chest rises and falls with deep, uneven breaths as I shift onto my knees, moving closer to the bed—closer to her.
Avery lifts her head from where she’s just kissed Liam, her eyes locking onto mine. They’re heavy-lidded, shimmering with affection and something deeper—trust, love, desire. Her lip’s part on a shaky exhale, and the look she gives me nearly undoes me.
“Come here,”
she whispers, voice barely audible over the chaos of our joined emotions.
I lean in, brushing her damp hair back from her face. My forehead presses to hers, grounding us in the middle of the storm. “You’re incredible, Kitten,”
I murmur, running my hand down the curve of her spine. “I don’t think I’ll ever get over the way you look at me.”
A small smile touches her lips. “Good. Because I’m not going anywhere.”
She sees my hand pumping my cock and licks her lips, then opens wide without question.
“God, you’re perfect,”
I groan, voice rough with awe and desire. Her mouth is warm velvet, and as I thread my fingers gently through her hair, the sensation of her surrounding me nearly steals my breath. Her gag reflex tightens around the tip of my cock while her tongue flattens and strokes the underside, blowing my mind. I swear my eyes roll completely around in my head. “Just like that… Fuck, Kitten, I’m gonna…”
The sentence ends in a groan as I come quicker than ever before. My hand grips the back of her head, holding her deep until every last drop has shuttered from my body. Then plop against the headboard, completely spent, and ready to watch the grand finale.
Her breaths come fast and shallow as she pulls back, her cheeks flushed and lips swollen, the heat of the moment still painting her features. Lennox trails a hand between her breasts and then grips her throat, kissing the side of her neck, while he and Liam continue thrusting into what’s got to be a tight as fuck pussy.
“Don’t forget Kam, baby. Liam and I aren’t going to last much longer.”
Liam grunts his agreement as a nipple pops from his mouth. “The faster you get him off, the faster I’ll let you come. Okay?”
He punctuates the word with a slap to her sensitive clit.
She squeals and they groan.
“Fuck, Lenn.”
Liam groans. “She liked that. One more of those and I’ll paint this pussy.”
Lenn caresses her until he’s gripping her hair, guiding her onto our oldest brother dripping cock, shoving her down until her nose brushes his abs.
“Jesus!”
Kam shouts, adding a second grip to her silky hair. She hasn’t even started bobbing her head but whatever she’s doing with her tongue has him seeing stars. “Yes, flatten your tongue agaiii…”
the arm holding him up gives out and he flops back onto the bed, his head smacking the headboard.
Avery startles, attempting to pull off him, worried. Only to be held down and muffled by his member, because he won’t let her up.
“No. Don’t stop. I swear, I’m ok. I’m almost there. Do what you were dooo...”
Avery dives back in like a starved woman and Kam’s grip in her hair looks borderline painful but she doesn’t object, so I let it go. All at once his muscles tighten with a groan of pleasure and then relax, as he pets the hair back from her face, and pulls her up to kiss her lips. “You’re the love of my life.”
She giggles, thinking he’s only being sarcastic because she gave him the best head of his life, but he’s serious.
Liam and Lennox don’t give her time to soak in his confession, when Lenn snatches her hair again, pulling her against his chest, creating a deeper angle.
“Now it’s our turn. Bite me hard if it’s too much but nip and lick if you’re enjoying yourself. We’re not going to hold back now that we’ve stretched you out a bit.”
Lenn sucks his thumb into his mouth and then trails it along Avery’s lips, sliding it inside, and then pinning her tongue down until she closes her lips around his digit moaning.
They don’t warn her again. She practically melts between them with pleasure, allowing them to maneuver her where they need her, seeming to know the best angle for the deepest penetration.
Liam and Lenn both yell Fuck at the same time as Avery screams and shatters, collapsing against Liams chest as they both slam into her one last time and come together, groaning out twin pleasures.
Once they recover, they pull out of her slowly, trying to be careful if she’s sensitive. But when we look down, she’s completely passes out.
“Avery?”
Liam shakes her a little, since she’s lying on top of him. When she doesn’t answer, he looks up at us with a smirk. “I think she passed out.”
I lean over her, brushing the hair back grom her face. “Are you sure?”
I glance down at her flush body, enjoying the view of her swollen wet pussy. “Kitten? You ok, sweet girl?”
She cuddles against Liam, mumbling. “Sleepy time. Let me have a nap, then we’ll do that again.”
Kam slaps her ass. “Sounds like a great idea.”
He covers Liam and her up, while the rest of us go shower and start making breakfast to feed our sex demon.
Some time later, I clap my hands together, the sound echoing like a starting pistol and instantly drawing everyone's attention. A slow grin spreads across my face as I turn to her.
"Alright, Kitten," I say, voice laced with playful command. "You've got four capable men at your beck and call, and I can assure you—we don’t break easy." I flex for dramatic effect, earning a chuckle or two. "So, how about you put us to work? What needs tackling out in that yard of yours?"
Her whole face lights up like I’ve just handed her the keys to a candy store. She scrunches her nose, letting out this adorable little squeal as she wiggles in place. “Really? I’d love the extra hands! Some of the rocks for the landscaping are too heavy for me to move on my own, and I don’t want to rent equipment if I can avoid tearing up the yard.”
Kamden leans casually against the doorway to the kitchen, his biceps flexing as he crosses his arms—showing off, plain and simple. “Just point out where you want the big ones, Sunshine,”
he says, his voice as smooth as butter. “We’ll handle them for you. No equipment needed.”
Her gaze shifts to him, her words faltering for a moment as she gets distracted. Her eyes are glued to the way his shirt stretches taut across his chest and arms, practically daring the seams to hold. Kam knows exactly what he’s doing, the smug bastard.
As if on cue, he lifts his arms to rest against the doorframe, the muscles in his biceps bulging just enough to make her breath hitch. He’s peacocking, full tilt.
Lennox and Liam notice it too. Lennox snorts, nudging Kamden with his elbow as he walks past him into the living room. “Show-off,”
he mutters, shaking his head with a smirk.
Liam doesn’t let the moment go either. He steps closer to Avery and, with a teasing grin, uses his pointer finger to gently nudge her chin up, closing her slack-jawed gape. “Careful, Bee,”
he says, his tone dripping with mock seriousness. “You’re going to catch flies if you keep staring like that.”
She startles, snapping out of her trance with a little grunt of surprise. “What? Oh!”
Her cheeks turn a fiery shade of red as she scrambles to recover. “I wasn’t staring... I mean, I was, but... Oh my God, I’m sorry.”
She presses her hands to her face, groaning softly.
Kamden, of course, grins like the cat that got the cream, his ego inflating by the second. “Don’t apologize, Sunshine,”
he says, pushing off the doorframe and stretching his arms overhead, just to give her another look. “I don’t mind being admired.”
The twins and I burst out laughing as she mutters something under her breath that sounds suspiciously like men, before spinning on her heel and heading toward the door. “Come on, guys!”
she calls back, her voice a little higher pitched than usual. “Let’s get to work before I change my mind about letting you help.”
The chuckles die down as we follow her outside, the warm sunlight spilling over the yard.
She starts pointing out the problem areas in her landscaping, explaining what she’s been working on and where she could use some extra muscle.
Kamden immediately jumps into action, hauling the larger rocks like they weigh nothing. Lennox and Liam move to assist, teasing him about how he’s showing off again.
Meanwhile, I hang back just a little, watching her. There’s something about the way her face lights up when she’s in her element—when she’s explaining her vision for the yard and how she wants everything to come together. It’s captivating.
“Hey, Kitten,”
I call out, walking over to where she’s crouched near a flowerbed. “You’re in charge here. Just say the word, and we’ll make it happen.”
She looks up at me, her smile wide and genuine. “You guys are seriously the best,”
she says, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
“Don’t forget it,”
I reply with a wink, and her laugh is the kind of sound I could get used to hearing every day.
As the afternoon rolls on, we fall into an easy rhythm. The banter flows freely, the work gets done faster than any of us expected, and Avery’s excitement is infectious. Watching her interact with each of us—her warmth, her joy—it’s impossible not to feel like this is exactly where we’re all meant to be.
The sharp slam of a car door reverberates through the quiet morning, followed by the crunch of boots on gravel. Instinctively, the four of us rise, moving as one. Without needing to speak, we form a wall, positioning ourselves between Avery and whoever just pulled up. It’s not planned—it’s just reflex. A protective instinct, like a pack closing ranks around its most precious member.
The tension in the air is thick as we wait, each of us pretending to be calm while silently running through the scenarios of how this could go. Liam glances at me, one brow raised in that familiar way that says, Well, here we go. I smirk back, masking my own nerves with bravado. We’ve got this... I think.
Avery is already halfway across the yard, her arms flying around her dad as she hugs him tightly. “Hi, Dad!”
she says, her voice light and cheerful.
Her dad—Daniel—returns her hug, patting her back with a sort of quiet affection that’s instantly disarming. He’s tall, solidly built, and radiates that old-school protective energy that has all four of us on alert. His sharp gaze sweeps the yard, already sizing us up before we even get a chance to introduce ourselves.
Liam leans a little closer to me, his voice low. “You ready for this?”
I huff a quiet laugh. “Ready as I’ll ever be. He’s her dad—I wouldn’t expect anything less than an interrogation.”
Kamden, standing on my other side, crosses his arms as he watches the scene unfold. His expression is steady, but I can tell he’s analyzing Daniel just as much as Daniel is analyzing us. “So, that’s him,”
Kam murmurs, his tone thoughtful.
“That’s him,”
I confirm, my voice just as quiet. “He’s a good guy—protective, no-nonsense. Just don’t take it personally when he starts grilling you.”
Liam and I have never had the chance to meet him in person—just a couple of brief conversations over the phone. Avery wanted to wait until we could all be here together for the introduction, and apparently, today’s the day.
Lennox chuckles under his breath, his calm demeanor unshaken. “I wouldn’t expect anything less. I like a man who cares enough to put people through their paces.”
“Oh, he’ll put you through your paces, alright,”
Liam chimes in, grinning. “Just wait.”
As Avery chats animatedly with her dad, her hands gesturing as she fills him in on something, I notice his gaze flicks to us a few times. Each glance feels like a silent assessment, his sharp eyes missing nothing.
“Come on, guys!”
Avery calls, waving us over. “Don’t just stand there!”
Liam nudges Lennox playfully. “Your turn, twin. Let’s see how you hold up under pressure.”
Lennox smirks, his confidence unwavering, and starts walking toward them. Kamden follows with that quiet strength of his, and I bring up the rear, already bracing myself for the inevitable scrutiny.
When we reach them, Avery turns to her dad with a wide smile. “Dad, this is Kamden and Lennox, and you remember Jaxton and Liam. Kam, Lenn, this is my dad, Daniel.”
Daniel nods, his expression unreadable as his gaze lands on Kamden first. “Kamden,”
he says, shaking his hand firmly. “I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Kam meets his grip without hesitation, his voice warm but respectful. “Good things, I hope.”
Daniel’s lips twitch, almost a smile. “Depends on who’s talking.”
Lennox steps forward next, his handshake just as solid. “Nice to finally meet you, sir,”
he says evenly. “Avery’s talked about you a lot.”
“She’d better,”
Daniel replies, his eyes narrowing slightly as they flick back to Avery. “She’s my girl.”
The pride in his voice is unmistakable, and it tugs at something in my chest. It’s clear how much he loves her, how fiercely he’s protected her all these years.
“Dad,”
Avery groans lightly, rolling her eyes, but the smile tugging at her lips betrays her affection. “Be nice.”
“I am nice,”
he says with a faint smile that makes me think he’s enjoying this a little too much.
The tension eases as the conversation starts to flow more naturally. Kamden’s steady, thoughtful demeanor pairs well with Daniel’s no-nonsense attitude, while Lennox’s quiet confidence seems to earn him an approving nod. Liam and I hang back slightly, letting the new introductions play out, but I can tell we’re all equally invested in making a good impression.
By the time we head back toward the house, Daniel’s stance has relaxed, and there’s even a faint smile playing on his face. As we step inside, he claps Kamden on the shoulder, his voice firm but approving. “You boys seem alright. Take care of her, and we won’t have any problems.”
“Always,”
Kamden replies simply, his tone steady and sincere.
Avery catches my eye as her dad heads toward the door, her face glowing with relief. Her hand brushes against mine, a silent thank-you for helping this moment go smoothly.
Liam leans over as her dad disappears down the driveway, his voice low. “That wasn’t so bad, was it?”
I grin, my gaze shifting back to Avery, who’s laughing softly at something Kamden just said. “No,”
I murmur. “I’d say it went pretty damn well.”
As Avery waves goodbye to her dad, her smile wide and her shoulders visibly lighter, I know this moment means the world to her. And seeing her this happy? It makes every second of nerves worth it.
But as much as she’s beaming, I don’t miss the little signs of exhaustion creeping in—the way her smile fades a touch when she thinks we’re not looking or how she leans against Kamden just a little longer than usual. It’s a quiet reminder that we’ve already pushed her too hard today. Between the yard work, her dad’s visit, and—well—the hours we spent reacquainting ourselves with her, it’s no wonder she’s starting to wear down.
“Guys,”
I say, dropping my voice as we gather in the living room. “We need to dial it back. She was pretty sick yesterday, and she’s already overdone it today.”
Kamden nods, concern flickering across his face. “You’re right. She didn’t eat much at lunch, either.”
“I’ll make her something light to snack on,”
Liam adds, always quick to take care of her.
“Good idea,”
Lennox agrees. “She’s stubborn, but we’ve got to make sure she doesn’t push herself too hard.”
Before we can put our plan into action, Avery comes in, rubbing her eyes as she yawns. “You guys,”
she starts, her voice soft but firm, “need to go out.”
We all stare at her, clearly caught off guard.
“Excuse me?”
Liam says, raising an eyebrow.
She rolls her eyes, crossing her arms in that way that makes her look both adorable and completely unyielding. “You’ve been cooped up because of me. You should take Kam and Lenn out, show them around. Have some brother time.”
“We don’t mind staying in,”
Kamden says, his tone gentle but insistent. “Especially if you’re tired.”
“I am tired,”
she admits, “but that’s exactly why you should go. I’m just going to take a bath and head to bed early. You don’t need to babysit me.”
“Avery—”
Lennox starts, but she cuts him off with a shake of her head.
“Nope. I mean it. You guys need time together. Go out, have fun, and I’ll be here when you get back.”
I step forward, hands on my hips as I tilt my head. “Kitten, we don’t need to go out to have fun. We’re fine staying with you.”
“And that’s why I love you guys,”
she says, her smile softening. “But I’ll feel better knowing you’re spending time together, just the four of you. Please.”
Did Avery just say she loved us?
The words hit me like a sucker punch—sharp, unexpected, and leaving me momentarily winded. I blink, letting the weight of it settle before I speak.
"Kitten," I drawl, tilting my head, watching the way her blush deepens, "did you just say you love us and are still kicking us out after that little admission?"
Her soft pink cheeks darken further as she nods shyly, playing with the hem of her shirt. "I do. Love you all, that is," she clarifies, peeking up at me through her lashes. "And I am still asking you to spend time together. It’s important. Our relationship might be moving at lightning speed, but from what I’ve gathered, you guys haven’t had time alone in months. So go—have a good time, catch up, be brothers—and get a hold of me tomorrow."
Liam groans dramatically, throwing his head back like she just told him Christmas was canceled. "Bee, I get what you're saying, I do, but do you really think we want to be anywhere that you aren’t?"
Kamden smirks, arms crossing over his chest as he leans against the doorway. "Gotta say, Sunshine, I’m feeling a little used here. You lure us in with those big doe eyes, steal our hearts, drop an I love you bomb, and then kick us out like we’re some summer fling?"
Avery rolls her eyes but smiles, clearly entertained by our antics. "You’re all being ridiculous. I’m not kicking you out—I’m encouraging bonding time between brothers."
Lennox finally pipes up from where he’s lounging on the couch, rubbing his jaw with mock consideration. "Hate to say it, but she’s kinda got a point. We haven’t all been together in months—"
"Traitor," Liam huffs, glaring at his twin.
Lenn shrugs. "Just stating facts. But," he turns his gaze to Avery, arching a brow, "I still think it’s suspicious that you’re so insistent on this. What, you got a secret hot date while we’re gone?"
Avery gasps, pressing a hand to her chest in mock offense. "How dare you! I’ll have you know, my big plans include a bath, a book, and probably passing out early because a certain group of men exhausted me today."
Kamden smirks, stepping closer. "Damn right we did," he murmurs, eyes flicking over her like he’s cataloging every inch of her.
I sigh dramatically, throwing my hands up in mock defeat. "Alright, alright. If Kitten insists that we take a boys’ night, who are we to argue?"
Avery beams, clearly pleased. "Exactly! See? That wasn’t so hard."
Liam groans again, dragging a hand down his face. "You say that like you didn’t just emotionally traumatize us by dropping the L word and then kicking us out in the same breath."
Avery laughs, pushing him toward the door. "Oh, please. You’ll survive one night without me. Now, go."
Kamden leans down, brushing his lips against hers. "You sure you don’t want to change your mind?"
She smiles against his lips before pulling back. "Nope. But you guys will text me when you’re back at the hotel."
Lennox winks, leaning in for his own kiss. "Only if you promise to dream about us."
Avery giggles, letting each of us steal one more kiss before finally shoving Liam toward the door. "Now go before I change my mind and decide I do want to keep you here."
I smirk as I follow my brothers out, already counting down the hours until we’re back in her arms. “Trust me, Kitten, we’ll be the ones counting the minutes.”
After we all pile into the car, a heavy silence stretches between us as we settle in. No one speaks right away, the weight of her absence pressing down, making the space feel oddly empty. It hits us all at once—she’s already woven herself so deeply into our days that the moment she’s not with us, we feel it.
Finally, Liam breaks the quiet. “I already miss her,”
he admits, his tone almost sheepish.
Kamden grunts in agreement, his arms crossed as he stares out the window. “I don’t want to spend another night without her. Feels... wrong.”
“Same,”
Lennox adds, his voice low. “Hotel’s fine and all, but it’s not home. She’s home.”
I nod, gripping the steering wheel tighter as I navigate toward the restaurant we agreed to check out. “We’ll figure it out,”
I say, my voice firm. “If we’re all thinking it, maybe we stop pretending we need the hotel at all.”
“Every night with her?”
Kamden asks, his tone thoughtful.
“Why not?”
Liam replies. “We’re here for her, aren’t we? Let’s act like it.”
A quiet agreement settles over us, the tension easing as we focus on the plan ahead. One thing is clear—we’re not just here for a visit. We’re here for her, for us, and it’s time to make that count.
The night out feels lighter after that, a reminder of the bond we share not just with her but with each other. There’s no hesitation—our place isn’t at a hotel. It’s with her.
