Chapter 20

CHAPTER

TWENTY

Tiomi

Me, Chy, Star and the girls were currently in the back of the Escalade Jawan rented for the duration of our stay on the way back to the house.

We had been eating the food that was native to the country, but I had a taste for some soul food.

I wish we had brought Charlie with us so she could have hooked me up with her smothered cubed steaks and potatoes.

Honestly after being out shopping all day, I didn’t care what I ate as long as I ate quick.

We were so occupied during our shopping trip that we forgot to get something to eat, but we’re paying for it now.

“So, do you think things are going to be different when we get back home friend?”

Me and my girls had been talking about everything that’s been going on and honestly, I was over it.

I hadn’t really got to enjoy being a wife and mother of two because of all of the bullshit we’ve been dealing with lately.

I just wanted things to be normal like they were when we met.

No matter how fucked up shit is right now, I was in this thing for life with Jawan, no matter what.

Coming out of my head I let out a slow sigh and answered my best friend.

“Honestly I don’t know friend. I just know it’s back to reality as we know it as soon as the jet touches down in Miami, so I just want to enjoy my husband, our kids, and this vacation.”

“I know Pooh. I also know that Jawan is doing whatever he can to make sure you and the girls are safe, and you know damn well he’s not letting Romeo get anywhere near Jarae. Give him credit for that. It can’t feel good for him to think you’re thinking the worst of him.”

“Girl he’ll be okay. I know he would never let anything happen to us, and Romeo getting Jarae is the least of my concerns. What he seems to not understand is I don’t want anything to happen to him.”

Since the beginning my husband has shown and proved the lengths that he would go through to make sure we were safe. Again, I had never doubted that. We always seemed to bump head when his safety came into question. He’s always so busy worrying about everyone else that he forgets about himself.

Chy, Star, and I engaged in casual conversation until the car was pulling back up to the house.

I had already texted Jawan that we were pulling up so he could send someone out to grab the things we had bought today.

We had accumulated so much stuff during our stay that it was crazy.

Thank God we flew out on our jet because airport fees would have been crazy.

“I missed your fine ass,” Jawan said to me as soon as I stepped into his waiting arms on the porch. He closed me in his embrace and dropped a kiss on the top of my head.

“I wasn’t even gone that long baby.” I grinned up at him.

“You were gone long enough. I been wanting to fuck since you left.”

I rolled my eyes and pushed him off of me so I could go inside. Jawan thinks I’m supposed to bend over and fuck him on command all day every day. We literally had sex three times before I left to go shopping, and here he comes saying that he wants to fuck again.

“So, you’re denying me Tiomi Jones?” he asked, following me into the kitchen.

“Do I ever, Grim? I’m just hungry.”

“Quit playing with me yo. Come on, let me fuck before Lae get her lil’ cock blocking ass up, then I’ma make sure you eat.”

Shaking my head, no, I opened the refrigerator to grab a bottled water. He wasn’t getting his way this time. After taking a few sips from my water I placed the bottle down and invaded my husband’s personal space.

“How about I eat first because I need the energy, then we put the crew on babysitting duties so I can be all yours, uninterrupted.”

Letting out a low groan, he again closed me in his arms, letting his hands grip my ass. “You drive a hard bargain Tio, but how could I say no to that?”

Smiling brightly, I replied. “You can’t. I want grilled food.”

“And I want you naked as soon as you swallow your last bite.”

Laughing at his request, I agreed because he was dead serious, and I knew it. When I tried to step out of his embrace, he tightened his grip. I looked back into his awaiting eyes and he was wearing a serious expression. He lifted me on to the kitchen counter and stepped between my legs.

“I love you baby.”

“I know. I love you more.”

He scoffed, “Negative.”

I tried to hop down so I could shower. We had been out shopping in the sun, so I wanted to freshen up. I also wanted to check on my girls. Jawan said Lae was sleep, but there’s no telling where Rae was and what she was into.

“Where you in a rush to?”

“I wanna take a shower and check on the girls baby.”

“They aight. Why you wear this little ass shit out of here today?”

I looked down at the sundress that was damn near to my ankles, then back up at Jawan. Of course, he was wearing a frown on his face.

“My dress is not little, Jawan. It doesn’t even show any skin.”

He sucked his teeth at the response.

“This shit tight as fuck, you may as well have gone out of here naked.”

“I’ll keep that in mind next time babe.” I winked and hopped off the counter.

“Yeah, aight, get you and a nigga killed in another country,” he replied to my back.

I knew better than anyone to play with my husband like that. I’ve already gotten two men killed and I have to live with that every day. If he even thinks that another man is breathing the same air as me Grim will come out to play.

The vacation that we were on is just what our family needed.

We got some much-needed alone time and the girls were happy to have all of their fathers attention.

Now we were back home, and I was online shopping to fill in all of these rooms that we have in the new house.

Jawan said he wanted all new furniture and I agreed. I think we all needed a fresh start.

“Why the fuck do the girls need separate playrooms, Tio?”

I was currently setting up the playroom that was going to be designated for Jalae with Jawan hanging over my shoulder. She’s younger than her sister so their likes for toys will be different, too. To avoid them fighting and arguing in the future I decided to separate their playing areas.

“Because Jawan, Lae is selfish already. This is going to avoid them fighting over what belongs to who.”

“Bruh I don’t care about that. I want a man cave. I made that clear when we moved in here.”

“Yeah, I know but—” My words were interrupted by a kiss to my lips.

“Naw ain’t no buts. I want a man cave and you’re going to make sure I get one. The girls will have to learn to share and coexist.”

Letting out a deep sigh, I dropped my head. There was no sense in arguing with him.

“Fine,” I said back with an attitude.

“The fuck you got an attitude for, Tio? We got seven rooms in this muhfucka. Our room, the girls have their own rooms, my man cave, your office, their playroom, and we’re having another baby soon, so they’ll need their own room.”

This was his way to bring up us having another baby soon. As much as I say I need time and I’m not ready, he counters it and tells me that I am. Jalae is so little and he still hadn’t gotten out of that life, so a baby was the last thing on my mind.

“We aren’t having a baby anytime soon, Jawan. It’s an entire guest house out back, why can’t your man cave be out there?”

“Two reasons actually, our family will need somewhere to stay when they visit so we have that space out there for them.”

“We live on a compound, all of us, why would they need to visit?” I interrupted him.”

“Because they are going to visit. We have the biggest house, the only ones with kids, and we’re going to host most of our shit.

Plus, we have security and they gone house out there, too.

Look, I pay the bills, so I don’t even understand why this is a conversation,” he looked like he regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth once he saw the shock on my face.

“Tio I didn’t mean it like that,” he quickly rebutted and tried to grab my hand which I quickly moved.

“No Grim, you meant it just like that, but let’s get something completely understood, the day you made me your wife your money became mine so nigga WE pay these bills,” I said as I stood from the kitchen table.

Jawan had me fucked up thinking that I was one of those lil’ has been hoes he use to fuck with.

I got ready to walk away, but I wasn’t done popping my shit, so I turned around.

“And like the fuck I said, your man cave is going to be outside in the guest house or you won’t have one. Play with it.”

I made my way upstairs to peek in on the girls.

Neither of their rooms were done because their furniture wasn’t set to deliver ‘til tomorrow, so they were in the guest room that I had completed.

They were both still asleep, so I headed to our room to take a shower.

Our room was complete as well because we had recently purchased this bedroom set, so it was no sense in leaving it at our old place.

While I was moving around the room to get the things I needed for my shower Jawan appeared in our doorway, prompting me to roll my eyes.

“Tiomi I really wasn’t meaning it like that, but I still shouldn’t have said it.”

“You’re right, you shouldn’t have.”

“I just fuckin’ said that didn’t I?” he raised his voice, so I knew he was getting frustrated. Truthfully, I wasn’t really that mad at the comment because he knows first-hand what my bag looks like and it was him that decided that I didn’t need to work right after I had the baby.

“Look, I don’t want to argue, I just wanted to apologize about what I said.”

I stepped in front of him, wrapped my arms around his waist and looked up at him. “I know baby. I wasn’t even tripping for real.”

“You play too much, Tiomi,” he said shaking his head. “Look, I’m about to step out with Shad to handle some shit. Do what you want to the house, it’s yours, I’ll set up a spot in the guest house like you said.”
