Chapter 21
CHAPTER
TWENTY-ONE
Jawan
The grip on my phone was deadly as I read the message from Rex about whoever this nigga was at Tio’s school.
This is exactly what I was talking about when I saw what she had on this morning.
They could play with it if they wanted to, it would be some slow singing and flower bringing around this bitch about mine.
Jalae started to stir in my arms, which is what brought me out of my thoughts.
When I looked down, she was looking up at me with the same eyes that matched her mother and sister.
“Your mommy’s not going to be satisfied ‘til I fuck her up baby girl.”
She just stared at me with an expression on her face like she was saying yeah right. My girls wanna be daddy’s girls when they want something but be looking at me sideways when it comes to they ugly ass mama.
Since I had the girls with me today, I wasn’t cutting any hair other than Shad’s.
I was simply here because I didn’t want to sit at home all day and I finally got a chance to look at my books to see what Tiomi had been carrying the fuck on about.
When I saw what she was trying to show me I was seeing red.
For the past six months somebody has been stealing from me.
I don’t know how they’ve been doing it, but you could bet your last dollar that I was going to find out.
“What’s good nigga?” Shad asked from the doorway holding Rae interrupting my thoughts.
“Shit going over these books ‘til you got here. It’s ‘bout time nigga damn. I was gone say fuck you if you didn’t get here soon, I gotta pick my bitch up.”
“Man, me and Chy got into it this morning, you see my shit all scratched up,” he revealed lifting the sleeves on his shirt with his free hand.
“She popped up at my shit flipping out this morning because she heard I was with one of the dancers last night. I had to bring her crazy ass up here with me because she wouldn’t leave. ”
All I could do was shake my head. After all the shit this nigga talked in Dubai, he still out here fucking up. The bright side was I had somebody to look after my baby while I cut this niggas hair.
“Nigga I told you to leave Chy the fuck alone if you wasn’t ready,” I replied to him as I stood with Lae still in my arms. She was still looking at me like I was the one in the wrong and all I could do was laugh.
My shorty was a straight up trader. We made our way out to the floor where Chy was sitting in Joe’s seat talking to one of the other barbers.
“Aye, my nigga, find you something safe to do.” Shad interrupted them with a mug on his face, which made me laugh. I handed Lae over to her auntie so I could get him in and out my seat. It was burning me up to get to that damn college campus.
“Shad you’re not my father nor are you my man, you need to chill out,” Chy stated.
“I can’t tell. I was just daddy before we got here.” Her face flushed in embarrassment at the statement.
“Shad shut up in front of these kids.” Rae had also made her way over to where Chy was.
“I was going to say Grim; you don’t let me talk like that when the girls are here,” Nia butted in, causing the three of us to look in her direction.
“Bitch I don’t allow you to say shit to me or mine period, the fuck you mean?” I said.
“And these are my nieces hoe, I’ma say what I wanna say around them,” Shad replied.
Nia rolled her eyes, “I wasn’t even talking to your hoe ass, Rashad.”
“Bitch don’t say my name like you know me.”
“Right because who you playing with bitch? Talk to my nigga with some respect before you get yo’ ass beat.”
I smirked at Chy when she made that statement. These were two of the most dysfunctional people that I had ever met. I wouldn’t want anybody else to fuck with Chy though, I really did view her as my little sister.
“So, I’m going to be verbally attacked by everybody that you bring up here? It’s your wife on a daily basis it seems like, your family, friends, and that girl you had in your office the other day,” Nia said making me choke on the spit that I was about to swallow.
“What girl?” Cheyenne asked narrowing her eyes in my direction.
“Mind your business, Chy,” Shad tried to intervene.
“Shut the fuck up, Rashad. Jawan, what girl?” she asked me again.
Nia was standing there looking on with a smirk on her face as if she had done something and I wanted to beat her ugly, bald head ass.
“No girl, that hoe is lying,” I defended. Cheyenne had already had her phone in her hand so I’m sure she had wasted no time telling Tiomi exactly what she heard.
“Hmm, we’ll just see about that,” she responded.
Shad was shaking his head and staring at Nia in disgust. I don’t know why the fuck I had let this girl make it this long. Cheyenne’s ringing phone brought me out of my murderous thoughts.
“Hey bestie,” she answered with her eyes on me until she rolled them. She stood to her feet and made her towards my office with Lae in her arms and Rae in tow. Once I was sure she was out of earshot I turned my attention to Nia, who was still temporarily wearing a smirk. Heavy on the temporary.
“Bitch if my wife confirms anything you said in here today out of your hoe ass mouth, Jesus himself won’t be able to get me off your ass.”
Her smile dropped and now her appearance mirrored the fear that I knew had consumed her.
She knew just as well as I did that Chy was in my office telling Tio her version of what she thought she knew and that was fine because I expected it.
I also expected Tiomi to snap off as soon as she saw me later, so for that I was gone make bald head Nia’s life a living hell.
Delivering her one final smirk I finished up my boy’s cut so I could go get my wife from school.
“Y’all took care of that old bitch, right?” I asked in a tone that only Shad could hear.
“You know it, bitch is Jaws food by now.”
“My nigga, now to get that bitch ass son of hers.”
“We gone do that tonight.”
That was all that needed to be said. I wanted to go ahead and get this taken care of so my wife could sleep a little better.
We had been back home for twenty minutes and Tiomi had been cussing me out the entire time, not even allowing a nigga to get one word in.
She was going off about this mystery bitch that she assumed that I was fucking in my office, and that was the reason that I had been spending as much time as I have been at the shop.
She even went so far as to say that this bitch had to be the only reason that I agreed to let her go back to school.
Since the moment I made shit official with my wife I hadn’t thought about another bitch and she knew that, so I was confused on why she was going on and on right now.
“Tio I’m really letting you get your rocks off right now, but you need to bring that ten to a two while I got my kid in my arms. I’m telling you now if you hit me I’ma beat yo’ little ass in here.
” She loved to put them little ass hands on a nigga when she was tight, but if she played with me while I had Lae I wasn’t gone let up off her ass.
“Nigga you ain’t gone do a bitch ass thing to me,” she continued to rant as she moved around the room. “As a matter a fact give me my damn baby so I can bathe her. Ain’t no telling what hoes you had breathing all over her today.”
“Yeah, aight. You know ain’t no bitch been around my kids but yo’ ass if they ain’t family,” I let her take Lae out of my arms because I’m sure she was hungry, and she did need a bath.
Rae stayed with Shad and Chy, which I’m grateful for because a nigga is tired.
I stayed up all night with them last night so their mother could rest, but I needed a good night’s rest myself tonight.
Although I let Tio release her frustrations, I still was gone turn up about this nigga from her school. I was going to wait until she got my baby washed, fed, and asleep but she was for sure going to hear my mouth about that shit.
By the time I had showered and came back into the room Tiomi’s fine ass was sitting on our bed applying moisturizer to her body.
Her attitude was still present because although she didn’t make eye contact with me, I saw her roll her eyes.
I dropped my towel and stepped into my boxer briefs before making my way over to where she was snatching her body butter out of her hands.
“Jawan give me my stuff and move. I’m mad at you,” she whined.
“Girl shut yo’ ass up. Wasn’t no bitch in my office, I told you that a hundred times,” I argued.
“Yeah, well I don’t believe your lying ass.”
“Tiomi watch how the fuck you talk to me, aight? I told you I don’t let no bitches in my shit. Why the fuck you taking the word of some hoe over me?” I asked. Although it was a bitch in my office, nothing happened and it’s not like I knew that bitch was going to be there.
“Oh, so Chy is some hoe?” she sarcastically asked me with her arms folded in front of her which further irritated me.
“No. You know I don’t think Chy is a hoe,” I sighed out. I was over this conversation and needed to get on to more pressing matters. “Tell me about the nigga that was in your space today.”
Unlike before, she had nothing to say. That tough guy act was long gone, and the look of fear and guilt made itself present.
She stood to her feet and went into the closet likely to put her body butter away, then made her way back into the room now wearing a short robe.
When she tried to walk past me out of the room, I gently grabbed her arm and pulled her back into my direction into my lap.
“Who the fuck was the nigga in your space today Tiomi Jones?” I reiterated.
Still avoiding eye contact, she took a second to finally answer. “I don’t know who he was, Jawan. I ran into him, literally. I dropped all of my stuff and all the man did was try to help pick the stuff up, but your do boy came running being extremely rude.”
