Chapter 32

Chapter Thirty-Two

The Salt and Pepper Shakers

Grayson

Okay, which one of you assholes stole my toolbox?

Holt

Why would any of us have stolen it? We all have our own.

Emmett

What Holt said. Are you sure you didn’t misplace it?

Grayson

It literally never leaves the garage.

Knox

Except when you use it and don’t put it back.

Holt

Weren’t you fixing Luddy’s bookshelf the other day?

Grayson

Oh, fuck. I’m never going to see any of my tools again.

Emmett

Knox

Serves you right for forgetting to put your toolbox away.

Grayson

Why do you have to be mean in my time of mourning?

Holt:

Because you’re an idiot?

Grayson

Judas!

Emmett

Go ask London where she put them.

Holt

He’s got a point. She probably remembers better than you do.

Grayson:

She put them in her closet because I never actually finished hanging the shelf and they were taking up space in her room.

Fuck. Why am I such a shitty dad?

Knox

No.

Holt

Take that back right now.

Emmett

That is the furthest thing from the truth, and you know it.

Knox

Think back, Gray. Why did you stop putting up the shelf?

Grayson

Because Luddy asked if I would color with her, and I did.

Knox

What was more important?

Grayson

Coloring with my kid.

Knox

Exactly.

Grayson

Thanks, guys.

Grayson changed the name of the group to The Best Daddies in the World.

Knox

If you call me Daddy, I will punch you straight in the teeth.

Emmett

Same.

Grayson
