Chapter 34 #2

He wasn’t rough, in fact he was careful. The subtle flex of his arms revealed how much he restrained himself. He was making sure that he didn’t take more than I offered. Yet something inside me wanted him to take, take, take.

I wasn't a precious thing he could break. That had already been done to me by Kavish, by Rhodes, by my father, by my mother . . . by The Grey.

But when Nik kissed me, or touched me, it wasn’t in a way that made me feel scared. It spoke to a part of my soul I hadn’t let anyone see, and it made that warm part between the apex of my thighs ache.

“Do you need me to stop?” he whispered against my lips.

I shook my head, hands fisting in his shirt. “Don’t.”

That was all it took for his mouth to devour mine, hungry and unrestrained, like he’d been holding himself together all day and finally let go. I kissed him back just as fiercely, opening to him, tasting wine and heat.

His hands left my waist to cup my face, his tongue dancing with mine as my fingers fumbled on the buttons of his shirt but they were shaking so much that Nik tore his lips from mine, grabbed his shirt and ripped it wide. Buttons popped off, clattering to the ground like pebbles.

I dragged my hands over his chest, moaning at the way my fingers dipped and rose over his defined muscles. “How are you even real?” I murmured before leaning down to brush my lips over his shoulder and collar bone.

Nik chuckled, his hands finding my waist again. “Plenty of years training in the ring, trust me.”

He was all carved muscle, and honeyed skin. And he wasn’t naked enough for my liking. I danced my fingers across the waistline of his trousers. Nik sucked in a breath, forehead dropping to rest on my head as I teased him. “Blythe . . .” he softly moaned.

I tipped my head up to look at him. “You can undress me if you like.”

Heat rushed through me as his darkened gaze dragged over my face, pausing on my lips.

He looked down, sliding his hands around my waist. Gently, he turned me around.

My breath caught, wings splaying either side of me, his warm fingers tracing the line of my spine.

He found the fastening at the back of my dress, his breath warm on my neck as he loosened it.

Each movement was slow and unhurried, like he wasn’t in a rush to get past this moment.

I moaned when the fabric gave way, and before I could think to cover myself, he spun me back around to face him, his hands still firm at my hips. The dress slipped from my shoulders and pooled at my feet.

He pulled back to look at me, his emerald eyes trailing over every inch of my skin. I didn’t flinch from his gaze. Men had looked before, but not like this. Not like I was something to be adored. The thought both frightened and soothed me.

“You can touch me,” I uttered. “I promise I won’t break.”

Nik swallowed, I saw the bob in his throat. He wasn’t afraid. He was cautious, but I was impatient and needed the ache between my thighs to be sated. I’d tasted ecstasy; now I wanted more.

He took a step towards me, gripping my hips, his gaze relenting as he pulled me closer. “I’m finding it very hard to control myself.”

I reached up and brushed a copper wave from his face. “Then don’t.”

With a grin and a swoop of his hands, he ran them down the back of my thighs and lifted me effortlessly. My legs wrapped around his waist on instinct, my arms threaded around his neck, and I leaned down to kiss him hungrily as we started to move.

We reached his room. He stopped at the edge of the bed, tearing his lips from mine, breath ragged and eyes glinting. “I would like to do things to you.”

I ran a finger over the lines of his lips. “Show me.”

The smile that broke across his face was anything but gentle—feral, unguarded, and then he caught himself.

Hands firm, careful, he laid me back against the mattress like I was something precious, not something to be taken.

I watched him undo his trousers, the movement quick and unceremonious, before he stepped between my legs.

His cock bounced free, and heat soared through my veins at the sight of it.

I never cared for any cocks before. They were a weapon. Something to threaten me with. But Nik’s was different, it had only ever shown me passion, and desire. And for the first time ever, I wanted to taste it.

The air felt thick . . . charged.

With slow, intentional fingers, he tugged down my undergarments and tossed them to the floor. When he dropped to his knees between my legs, the sight of him there stole the breath straight from my lungs.

I pushed up onto my elbows, needing to see him. Needing to brace myself.

“Nik—wait,” I said, the words shaking loose before I could stop them. “Are you sure?”

He stilled instantly. Completely.

His gaze lifted to mine, searching. “Do you want me to stop?”

I shook my head. “I don’t think so.”

Something softened in his expression. “Then let me,” he murmured, hands warm as they settled against my thighs, parting them slowly, deliberately. “Let me give you pleasure.”

I couldn’t do anything but hold my breath and nod.

With a slight grin he tugged me closer to the edge of the bed, dragging the tip of his nose up the inside of my thigh. I squirmed under his touch, my skin pebbling with every kiss he offered. Then he dragged his warm tongue up my centre, and I bucked my hips into his face out of pure shock.

“Nik!” I cried out, but he didn’t let me catch my breath, he simply dragged his tongue over me again.

My hands fisted in the bed sheets either side of me as he began to consume me in ways I’d never known before. Every flick of his tongue, every nip of his teeth, was electric, sending shockwaves through my bones.

Like a wildfire in a dry, barren field, heat spread through my veins, setting me ablaze. I arched my back, releasing a moan as he buried his face between my legs. “Nikolas . . .” I hissed.

He looked up at me with eyes so dark, barely any green was visible. Seeing him between my legs unravelled me, and I rocked my hips into him, needing to feed the hunger he’d awoken. Needing to shatter so he could put me back together again.

He drew his warm, wet tongue away, and though my body softened beneath the sensation, I hadn’t yet found my release. Every fibre in my being hummed, turning my limbs boneless.
