I smirked. “He tried. About six times. Bought me this ring and everything.” I lifted my hand and wiggled my finger.

“Then what’s the hold up?”

I sighed. “He kept trying to get me to go to a courthouse. And that’s not what I envisioned for myself. And until he gets it right, then we won’t be married.”

“What do you envision?”

“I want a grand proposal,” I readily admitted.

“Let’s start there. I want all my family and friends there, in a romantic setting.

I want a big ass ring. And that nigga to damn near have tears in his eyes while he’s proposing.

Then I want a massive wedding at a exotic venue.

I want my wedding to be the talk of the hood.

And until I can have that, I’m in no hurry to be married. ”

I smirked. “So, the actual wedding means more than being married to the man you love?”

“I didn’t say that. But sometimes we have visions of how we want our lives to be.

Then we grow up, and realize that most of that shit was nothing but a fantasy.

But a big wedding is something tangible.

So, in this fucked up world, where nothing is like we thought it would be as kids, I still wanna have my dream wedding.
