“Your wife, Face?” She squinted. “Yeah. My wife, Babi.”

“And where is Too Low gonna be while you’re making me your wife?”

I shrugged. “The hell if I know. Probably somewhere crying his self to sleep. I can’t call it. Nigga, should’ve stayed out of jail. Or moved you far away to another city. Cause as long as you was in Houston, then I was destined to find you.”

“No.” She shook her head. “You’re using some strong ass language, when not everybody plays like that. I been with that man for most of my life, Face.”

“I understand that, and you gone always remember those times. But it’s a new era. That’s old.”

“You tripping,” she sighed.

I peered around. “Go ‘head and grab some clothes, so we can head to the house.”

She shook her head. “I can’t.” “And why not?”

“Cause I have hair to do tomorrow.”

I sucked my teeth. “Man, I aint trying to hear that.” “Well it doesn’t matter what you wanna hear. I—”

After digging into my pocket, I produced a bankroll. “That’s about six thousand, right there. I can give you ten more when we get to the house. So, you aint gotta do shit, but wake up in the bed with me in the morning.”

She inhaled. “Why you doing all this?”

“Cause I want to see what this is. With no limitations. And I can’t do that with you halfway invested.”
