Chapter 8 My Eyes On Her

Dexter

I didn’t know who Tiffany was, but the moment I saw her approach the bar, everyone else around me seemed to vanish.

I wanted to speak, but I was nervous and decided to stay put at the bar.

I decided that if I saw her again, then I’d work up the courage to approach her, but figured it wouldn’t happen with how crowded it was.

Then I saw her again on the dance floor.

I wanted her. I watched as her curvy body moved effortlessly with each song, and the way her outfit showed off her bare back with each arch and dip.

She had my body on fire. The moment her beautiful face lit up when a song she enjoyed played had my heart racing.

I didn’t know who this woman was, but there was no denying my attraction to her.

I was out with Key and Leonard, whom I liked to call Black, and was relaxing in the smoke lounge.

If I had the choice, I would have stayed in my room at my parents’ house and celebrated my graduation by playing a few of my favorite games.

Since this was such a monumental accomplishment for us, I agreed to get out of my comfort zone and celebrate with my best friend.

For a bit, I was having fun until I got uncomfortable.

The two women, Tara and Whitney, were all over Key, and it was getting awkward to watch.

Well, Whitney was the one doing the most, and Tara was simply vibing.

However, her friend kept pulling her into her shenanigans.

Black and I got tired of watching that and decided to sit at the bar for a bit.

I was enjoying myself and allowing the music to quiet my loud thoughts.

Hell, I was feeling so good that I wanted to dance, but no one had grabbed my attention.

Don’t get me wrong, there were some beautiful women in the building, but none of them appealed to me.

Then there was Tiffany. I wanted to fuck that other man up who approached her to dance, but she dismissed his ass.

Hell, his ass was drunk as fuck and trying to dance with every woman in here.

Not saying there’s anything wrong with a few drinks and having fun, but that guy was doing too much, and his homeboys needed to take his ass home.

“Want to get out of here?” Tiffany’s seductive voice whispered up to me.

Her brown eyes were full of need, and I wanted nothing more than to fulfil her every desire.

But I couldn’t lie; I was anxious. I rarely went out to clubs and bars, which meant I wasn’t used to bringing strange women back to my home.

However, there was something about Tiffany that drew me to her, and I didn’t want my time with her to end.

So, despite my nerves, I nodded my head.

“I’m going to let my friend know I’m about to leave,” she said, running her hand down my forearm.

“Cool, I’m going to let my homeboy know, too. I can meet you by the door.”

She winked. “That works for me.”

With that, she disappeared into the crowd.

I swallowed and made my way back upstairs.

I’m pretty sure Key didn’t give a damn that I was leaving, but I still wanted to give him a heads-up.

Besides, I could use a pep talk. My best friend was more of the outgoing type and didn’t have a problem stepping up to a woman.

I was not that bold. It may not have seemed like it in this club, but the people who really knew us knew that Key and I were opposites.

It wasn’t like I was shy, merely cautious of who I allowed around me.

Seeing Tiff, however, brought out an urge that I hadn’t felt for anyone before.

The need to be in her presence pulled me in from the moment my eyes landed on her.

I had no problem stepping out of my comfort zone, but only for her.

On the inside, however, I was one thread away from unraveling with panic, but I had to talk to her. Hell, I’d be a damn fool if I didn’t.

Looking around the lounge, I noticed another group of people had already taken our section. Grabbing my phone out of my back pocket, I saw a text from Key.

Key:

Yo, I’m heading out. I would have told you, but you seemed preoccupied.

(lol) Do your thing and don’t get in your head.

You and I both know how you overthink yourself into one of your attacks.

So, remember, have fun, and it’s perfectly fine to have a one-night stand. (strong emoji) I’ll hit you up later.

I laughed and shook my head. I wasn’t mad because he wasn’t lying. Key knew me too well, because I sure would have changed my mind if I had thought about it long enough. Then again, my attraction to Tiffany ensured nothing would change my mind.

Heading back downstairs, I saw Tiff waving goodbye to the same woman she came into the club with.

Standing next to her was the same man whom I saw her dancing with earlier.

I tilted my head to the side as I examined him a bit more.

Shaking my head, I realized I had seen him hugged up with another woman about an hour ago before he started dancing with Tiff’s friend.

I shrugged. That wasn’t my business, and besides, I didn’t have any context about their situation.

“Ready?” Tiff asked as I walked up to her. Her friend was already gone in the sea of people on the dance floor.

“Yeah.”

My heart was pounding in my chest. It wasn’t like I was a virgin, but as I mentioned, I rarely hooked up with strange women.

Hell, throughout my time in college, as many times as I got dragged out of the house to some party, I hardly ever brought anyone back to our shared apartment.

Not saying I didn’t, but it was rare. Plus, if I brought anyone back to my room, it was with a woman I was already familiar with and my age.

I for sure never brought a woman back eight years older than me.

I exhaled a breath and remembered the text from Key. I needed to get out of my head. Who gives a damn if she was older than me? Tiff was beautiful and sexy. I’d be dumb to miss the opportunity to spend time with her. Besides, she may show me a new thing or two.

“You can follow me.”

I nodded as she took my hand and pulled us into the coatroom to grab our belongings and out the door. Once we made it outside, Tiff began walking in the opposite direction from the parking lot.

“Yo, Tiffany, where are you going?” I asked, confused.

“Oh, I parked in the back. I was going to pull around and meet you up here.”

I furrowed my eyebrows. “Nah.”

“Nah?” she mocked, folding her arms across her chest. “Look, I’m a big girl and I can–”

“Ma,” I interrupted. “If you don’t come get your fine ass in my truck so I can take you to your car! What do I look like letting you walk behind a dark ass building by yourself? Stop playing with me.”

She opened her mouth to protest, but I didn’t give her the chance. Before she knew it, I had closed the distance between us and grabbed her hand before walking us to my truck. She must have been out of her mind if she thought I was about to allow her to walk behind a dark building by herself.

“So, you’re the controlling type?”

I shook my head. “Not hardly. There’s too many crazy and evil ass muthafucka’s in this world, and I’m not about to let anybody hurt you under my care.”

Looking down at her, I watched as she stared ahead, but I could see the grin on her face. I smirked as a wave of confidence washed over me.

“You like that?”

Peeking up at me, she bit down on her bottom lip, causing my heart to speed up again.

“Actually, I do.”

This time, I smiled as I helped her into my truck.

Tiffany was bold and went after what she wanted.

I liked that. So why shouldn’t I do the same for her?

Shit, the hell with my nerves. Whatever she wanted, I’d give it to her.

I stayed to myself and went with the flow, but tonight, I was going to allow myself to let loose.
