Chapter 16

Chapter Sixteen

ADAM

“Now I get to reward you, Princess.”

Fuck, I’ve never seen anything like her. Both of my people are the most gorgeous, sexiest beings on the planet, but when Alex flushes like this, when her soft body is laid out for me and her pussy is swollen, ready for my cock, I feel like the luckiest man in existence.

“What do I get?” She bites that lower lip, and I tug it free with my thumb before I lean in and bite it myself.

“Me.”

A smile spreads over her gorgeous face. She hikes her legs up around my hips, and I slide my hard, pulsing cock through her wet slit.

“Best prize ever.”

With my lips on hers, I slowly, almost painstakingly, slide into her, and when I’ve bottomed out, I pause.

“Please tell me I can move now,” she whispers against my lips.

“It’s sexy as fuck that you asked, but you can do whatever the fuck you want.”

“I want to ride you.”

Without having to be told twice, I roll us, reversing our positions, and she straddles me. Her hands are planted on my chest, all that glorious dark hair falling around her shoulders, and she starts to move. Her hips circle, and my hands glide up her thighs to her ass.

“Such good hands,” she says on a sigh.

I love touching them. They both tell me that I have good hands, but it’s only because I can’t stop touching them. They’re my miracle. I spent my entire childhood feeling like an outsider, like I wasn’t loved. There was no affection in my household.

And now that I have Gabe and Alex, I constantly want to touch them. I want to soak them up and remind myself that they’re mine. I’m never letting them go.

“Fuck, Adam,” she groans, letting her head fall back and her breasts just beg for my hands. When I tweak her already hard nipples, she groans, and I can’t stand it anymore.

I sit up and wrap her legs around my hips. With my hands under the globes of her ass, I start to move her up and down my shaft.

“Oh God.” She rests her forehead on mine, moving with me, her pussy clenching around me so deliciously, I know that I won’t last long. “It’s so good, babe. So damn good. I love the way you fill me up.”

“You’re everything.” I nip at her lips and push up into her even harder, making her gasp. “Every fucking good thing in this world. You and Gabe are mine. Do you understand me?”

“And you’re both mine,” she whispers, sinking her fingers into my hair and tugging. I bite her collarbone as my spine starts to tingle.

I take her hips in my hands and change her movements to slide back and forth. The way she gasps and clenches down tells me that I hit her G-spot.

“There it is,” I whisper against her skin before I suck her nipple into my mouth and give it a good tug.

“Adam.”

“That’s right, baby.” She starts to flutter around me. “Fuck, you’re going to take me with you. Come for me, Alex.”

She buries her face in my neck and starts to shiver, coming so hard that she pulls my own climax right out of me. I come inside her, grinding up against her clit and making us both groan.

I want to tell her that I love her.

But I want to say it for the first time when Gabe’s with us.

“Whew.” She’s panting, leaning into me, and I fall back onto the bed, roll her onto her back, and kiss the fuck out of her, pouring all of my love into this kiss.

When we come up for air, Alex stretches and hugs me, then bounds out of bed and runs for the bathroom. I can’t help but chuckle and admire her backside.

Christ, she has a beautiful ass.

I hear the shower turn on, and I take that as my cue to get out of bed, throw on some sweats and a tee, and then pad out to the kitchen to make some breakfast.

To my surprise, there’s a note on the counter from Gabe.

Hey you two-

You looked gorgeous, all snuggled up together in our bed. I wish I could have stayed. There are fresh huckleberry muffins from The Sugar Studio in the oven.

Don’t have too much fun without me.

-G

Fuck, I love him.

Grabbing my phone, I shoot him a text.

Me: You know I love you, right? Thanks for the muffins. I’ll make bacon and eggs to go with them. We might have had a little fun without you this morning. I’ll make it up to you later.

I set the phone aside and pull the eggs and bacon out of the fridge, heat a pan, and am about to start cooking when he replies.

Mine: Those muffins are fucking delicious. But not nearly as delicious as you. Kiss her for me. I’ll kiss you myself when I get home.

Grinning, I set the phone aside again and get to work feeding our girl.

“I have to work at some point today.” Alex stretches her arms over her head and flops back on the couch.

She’s so fucking adorable.

“Why?”

“Because these articles won’t write themselves. But I don’t remember the last time I had a lazy day.”

“I wouldn’t call today lazy.”

She frowns over at me. “We had sex, had breakfast, watched cooking shows, took a nap, had sex again, and now we’re lying on the couch in our sweats watching a Marvel movie.”

“Productive day, if you ask me.”

I tug her into my lap, cup her chin in my hand, and kiss her thoroughly.

“I’ve had a fun day,” she admits with a sweet smile. “Thanks for spending it with me.”

“We’ll do it more often.”

Her eyebrow kicks up, making me smirk. “You’re going to voluntarily take more time off work?”

“I take days off, you know.”

She gives me the you’re full of shit look, and I kiss her cheek.

“Hey, you’re one to talk, little Miss I have to work on my lazy day with my man.”

She snorts, then shrugs. “You said it wasn’t lazy.”

“I love your smart mouth.”

She blinks rapidly. I notice hearing the word love unsettles her, but she’d better get used to it because Gabe and I say it often, and I plan to tell her, too.

Words matter.

“Honeys, I’m home.”

We both turn our heads at the sound of Gabe’s voice. When he walks into the living room and takes in the scene before him—the bowl of half-eaten popcorn, the blankets strewn about, and our girl on my lap—his eyes warm as he grins.

“How was work?” Alex tries to get out of my lap, but I hold her firm, and she scowls at me. “I need to go hug him hello.”

“He’ll come hug us both hello.”

Gabe chuckles, and the next thing I know, he dive bombs on top of both of us, hugging and kissing us, making us laugh.

“Mercy!” Alex yells. “I can’t breathe! You two are too heavy.”

Once we’re disentangled from each other, Gabe lifts Alex into his arms, she wraps her legs around his waist, and he kisses the fuck out of her.

“We missed you today,” she says to him, brushing his hair off his forehead.

“I missed you both,” he replies. “Especially because I knew exactly what you were doing, and I was jealous as fuck. I love cooking shows.”

We sent him texts throughout the day, keeping him posted on what we were doing. It was Alex’s idea.

“I didn’t want you to feel left out,” she says, kissing his nose before wiggling out of his arms. I move in, kissing the fuck out of my man.

“I like coming home to this,” he mutters against my lips.

“Doesn’t suck, does it?”

“Let’s tell her.”

“Tell me what?” Alex asks, her hands on her hips, watching both of us. Her gorgeous blue eyes go round, and her face falls as I see panic start to set in. “Oh God, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong, Princess.” I tug her between us, and we sandwich her.

It always seems to calm her down. Gabe’s lips immediately fall to her crown, and I kiss his cheek.

Today was a lot of fun, and there’s something to be said for one-on-one time, but when the three of us are like this, it’s home.

It’s perfect. And the way Gabe sighs, leaning his cheek into me, I know he feels the same way.

“We just want to discuss the construction that’s about to be going on around here. ”

Her head snaps up, and she frowns. “What construction?”

“That’s what we’re going to tell you, Shorty.” Gabe brushes his fingers through her hair. “We’re going to build you your own room. Or rooms. You need space to work and read, and anything else you might want to do in there.”

“Oh.” She blinks again and steps out of both of our reach entirely, wrapping her arms around her stomach. I feel the walls she just erected in my fucking soul. “You don’t have to do that.”

“We want to,” I assure her. “But we want to discuss options with you. We’re happy to add on to the footprint of the house, but if you prefer, we could build a little building out back that stands by itself. I’m fine with either, but personally, I’d rather have you in the house.”

“It might be better in the winter,” Gabe agrees, nodding. “No one will have to trudge through the snow to get there.”

“You don’t have to build me anything. If I’m in the way, I’m happy to go back to my apartment—”

“Did anyone say anything about you being in the way?” I tilt my head to the side, staring at her. “Princess, we love having you with us, every fucking minute of the day. We went and got you last night because the thought of you sleeping anywhere else is not an option for us.”

“But you want to build me my own bedroom.”

Gabe and I look at each other in surprise, and then back at her.

“No,” Gabe says as I tug her back into my arms.

Christ. My poor girl.

“No, baby. We want to build you an office that doubles as a library since you love to read so much.”

“You sleep with us, Shorty. Nowhere else. If we need to buy a bigger bed, that’s fine, but we all sleep together. I’m a possessive fucker. I want you both next to me at night.”

“Same goes,” I say and tilt her head up so I can see her face. My gut clenches when I see tears in her eyes. “Hey, no crying. This is a good thing. We didn’t mean to scare you.”

She swallows hard and blinks the wetness away. “I just … that’s a big step. Adding on to the house. It feels like a big decision.”

She still has those walls up, and I don’t like it. Have I misread her? Are Gabe and I more invested in this relationship with her than she is with us?

Whenever I say the word love, in any context, she almost flinches.

And I get it. With the childhoods we both had, trusting love isn’t easy. But I need her to know that she’s everything to us. That we are her safe place, and we’re never letting her go.

“I also want you to give up your apartment,” I tell her, needing to see her reaction. “I want you to move the rest of your things here, to our home. To your home.”

She scowls.

“I’m not ready to do that.”

“Why not?” Gabe demands before I can. “You haven’t spent any time there in more than two months. It’s a waste of money, Alex. You live here, with us.”

She’s shaking her head and paces away from us. The blood is rushing through my veins. This is not going the way we thought it would.

I reach out for Gabe’s hand and give it a squeeze, silently asking him to trust me.

“When would you be comfortable letting the apartment go, Alex?”

She’s still shaking her head, facing away from us, staring out the window to the mountains.

“I don’t know if I ever will,” she admits softly.

Gabe starts to walk to her, but I hold him back and lean over to kiss his cheek, then whisper in his ear, “Hold on.”

I turn back her way. “Have we missed the mark here, Princess?”

She sighs, her shoulders sag, and she turns around to look at both of us. Her eyes fall to our linked hands, and she winces.

“Shorty—”

“You know, I think I need a break.”

My heart stutters to a standstill. “What the fuck does that mean?”
