3. Ash
Ash
I’m stumped. Completely thrown off. And all because of a tiny blonde woman in her overpriced clothes. It is a rare day when someone surprises me. And that Friday night, when I came back to the club, hands covered in metaphorical blood, she did just that.
Such a scared little bunny surrounded by a group of wolves, yet she willingly walked in, all by herself. Shining pointed shoes stark against the sticky floors of our club.
And I didn’t miss her body’s reaction to my filthy words, like a little needy thing. Something about her deep chocolate eyes hooked me, so I made one of my seconds shadow her for the last week.
Imagine my surprise when I found out she is Howard Dally of Dally Enterprise’s daughter, in the flesh. The spawn of one of the most abhorrent human beings in the world... And that means a lot, coming from someone like me.
When Kai first uttered those words, red flashed in my vision, confirming what I first thought when I stripped her and searched her for a wire. My hands itched to go find her and show her what happens to lying, little schemers. But he stopped me when he continued in his soft-spoken, monotone voice.
He told me he believes the blonde woman doesn’t know about her father’s transgressions and that he keeps her far away from certain aspects of his business. And that her name is Maddison. Maddison Dally. The fact that a Dally was here, sitting and drinking in my club still blows me away.
She might be as naive as she looks. All it does is make me even more intrigued. A new little pawn in this game I play.
It really doesn’t hurt that her lithe body makes my cock twitch in fascination.
It’s all I can think about now, sitting in the back room of the bar, a slightly less rundown room than the rest of the place. Our meeting room is the only place I can get an inch of silence in this club.
Music thumps through the walls as the Devils party. On select nights, we let the ladies join. The gang girls. I’m beginning to dread it.
I used to enjoy having them try to cling to me and offer to suck my cock every chance they got. Needy girls with something to prove give amazing head, I’ll give them that. They used to let me sit back with a scotch in hand, and they’d ride me for hours.
But I don’t want that tonight.
I want to play with a particular uptight blonde and wave it in front of her criminal father's face.
My seconds watch me sip on an overfilled tumbler of scotch; their identical faces unblinking as they take me in.
I love my seconds and trust them more than anything, but God, they creep me out sometimes.
It might be a twin thing. Identical pairs of black eyes stare back at me as I slump into the head meeting chair.
They wait for me to give them the signal to talk, ever the obedient men.
They barely even move, apart from the faint rise and fall in their chests; you’d think they were mannequins.
Extremely good-looking, dark and menacing mannequins.
Sighing, I give them a nod, dreading to hear what they have to say.
“Zeke attempted to derail a shipment today. We killed five lesser men. Noone important,” Kaleb informs me.
I think it’s Kaleb, anyway. It’s nearly impossible to tell them apart, with their olive skin and jet-black hair.
I know their tattoos are different, but unless you are looking closely, even that is hard to tell.
Growing up with them has given me a read on the slight differences in their characteristics, but most of the time I just see them as one person. Ever since Dad found them when they were 12, wandering the streets with blood streaked over them, they have been my brothers.
But even I know there is something crucial missing from the pair.
“Any product get taken?” The burn from my scotch barely matches the anger bubbling inside of me. I’m too busy thinking about the little angel to be worrying about a silly rival play at our supply.
They both shake their heads in unison. Kaleb and Kai are probably the most efficient killers on my team. They are ruthless and merciless, and I’m lucky to have them as my seconds.
“One of them is secured next door,” Kaleb adds, a slight spark igniting in his dark eyes. “Ready for you to have a talk.” I huff at the word talk, because that is certainly not what I will be doing, and they know that.
Usually, my seconds handle this kind of work, using knives to make men speak. But with the number of attacks from the Wraiths, I’d like to have a little chat of my own. A little gift to send the unlucky man they left alive home with.
“And the girl?” I finally ask the question that has been clogging my throat.
I’ve had Kai follow her since he is my ghost. Somehow, he can hide in broad daylight, turning invisible whenever he wants or needs. He hasn’t asked why, and he won’t.
“She’s working on an event for Senator Malcolm Hargrove. Has dinner booked for tonight at Aurum 14 at eight. Howard Dally and another associate, Conrad Steele, will be in attendance.” Kai’s voice is soft and eerie as he recites his findings.
“And the father? Any moves on his end?”
“Not yet. He’s been quiet. For now.”
That makes me more nervous than if he were to be flitting around as usual, being the fraudulent, elitest prick he usually is.
“Let’s see how he reacts when he realises his little angel is sullied,” I grin, malice twisting my features. Yet a part of me twists at the words. Although my hands ache to taunt her, tease her, I want it to have nothing to do with vile Howard Dally.
As expected, my seconds don’t reply. Standing ramrod straight, they wait. I sigh, wishing they’d have a drink for once. Let loose, even just a little. But they never do.
“You’re dismissed. Go have a drink and sink into some wet cunt together,” I wink at them, knowing they won’t listen to me. Don’t get me wrong, my brothers have sex. But their tastes are... How do you say, fucked. In a way they won’t find here, in our raucous, grimy club.
They turn and leave, and if I know them, which I do, they will be leaving the club altogether to find what they need.
Shaking my head, I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone, clicking on the number that I’ve had saved for a week now.
Ash: Maddison...it suits you.
In this moment, I wish I could see her face.
Watch her confusion as she looks at the text on her phone.
But I can’t, and that makes me irritated.
I quickly shoot off a text to Leon, our freshest Devil and most talented when it comes to technology, that I want cameras in her office, car and apartment.
I want to be able to watch the mystery girl whenever I please.
My message to her comes up as read straight away, but no reply.
Ash: I like Angel better though, Angel.
Surrounded by the darkness in my club, she looked like a little angel.
Hair so soft and light like a halo and scented like vanilla and honey.
Though I doubt she is completely innocent, even if she has no idea that her father is one of the sickest individuals I know.
Because she still works for Dally Enterprises. She benefits from it.
And her eyes... wide and nervous, hid something beneath that moment of fear. Those brown irises looked haunted. Detached. They didn’t sparkle with the carefree light her angelic appearance promised.
And that… that just intrigues me even more than I already am.
Standing, I crack my neck and narrow my thoughts on the man secured in one of the abandoned factories next door.
The perfect place to torture a man. With the huge, open space made of concrete and metal, screams echo in the most thrilling way.
You haven’t ever really tortured until you have the music on surround sound. Just amazing.
Music hits me as I open the door, as well as the sounds of pure, animalistic sex. Girls scream and men grunt as they fuck and dance and party, the lights low and casting a red glow over the club.
We are a bunch of deranged freaks who love to fuck and kill, party and fuck some more. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are my family, and I owe them my life ten times over.
Walking through the mess, my eyes find Griff. His huge body is sprawled out in a booth, a young girl riding his lap with unrestrained enthusiasm, screaming as his big dick stretches her out. He glances at me over her shoulder, and I wink at him, grinning at the shiner I put on his eye.
I still don’t know why I did. I loved watching the way the angel reacted when he scared her. But after she left, I just couldn’t help myself. And it felt good to split some knuckles on his thick head.
The air is still crisp as I straddle my bike, a low-rider Harley Davidson, and kick it to life, the familiar rumble feeling like home. The asshole tied up in the sheds can wait.
I have an angel to watch.
