Chapter One Peyton

Six Months Later

The talk with my father went really well and he was totally understanding about me needing to move forward and wanting to do the rest of my undergrad here in Devil’s Hollow, North Carolina.

I think he was relieved to have one less child around to have to worry about anything that could happen to them at home with that psycho still on the loose.

I have been taking a crazy amount of credits in hopes that I will be finished with my program early and it is looking like I could finish my undergrad in two years.

Which is amazing. My mama finally woke up four months ago and Knox and I flew in to visit with her and make sure she was okay.

Everything appeared fine after she woke up, so I was able to go back to North Carolina relieved that she was going to be okay.

I have been loving getting to know the family I have here and all the women are such badass bitches.

The club here is run so differently than the club at home because women have a more involved role and they have a seat at the table, it is kind of like their own table to be honest.

It is amazing to think about all that these women can do.

I have loved getting to know Knox and his family.

They have been truly welcoming and I have never felt like an outsider.

I can truly say that in the time I have spent with Knox, I have fallen in love with him.

I don’t understand how you can be in love with two people at once, but I am.

I wish it weren’t true, but Cooper still is there in my heart.

Knox and I have had more than one conversation about it and he understands and has said he is okay that there is another man in my heart.

He feels like maybe this relationship has room for both of them. The man is crazy.

When I moved here I didn’t hear from Cooper for a couple of weeks, then all of the sudden he started trying to reach out.

After that happened I decided the best thing for me was to block him.

We are nothing and I don’t want to hear from him anymore.

It did feel like ripping out part of my heart and soul, but I’m focusing on the here and the now.

I don’t need a man who thinks that free pussy is the way to go.

I need a man who is going to stand by me and let me stand by him.

That is what I have found with Knox. Our relationship has been going really well and we just keep getting stronger, a couple of months ago he made me his ol’ lady.

It has all been pretty amazing, I just haven’t been very open and honest with my family about everything.

I will contact them when I need to, but things are really tense with Parker and I don’t like sharing things with my parents before her, but she’s still angry with me and has barely talked with me.

A couple of our friends back home Rose and Liza have been hooking up with some of Chaos and normally this would be something Parker and I would chat about, but she wants nothing to do with me.

Liza has been with our brother, Cane, for a few months now and honestly I love that for both of them, I’m just hoping that he doesn’t do anything stupid to fuck it up.

I think he’s still in the we aren’t that serious part, but from what Liza tells me he’s brought her to his home on the compound and not just his room at the clubhouse.

He’s even met her kids, I think he’ll pretend for a while it’s nothing serious because he doesn’t want to make it seem like he’s settling down, when we all know he doesn’t do these things for other girls.

Which like I said I’d love to talk to my sister about.

Rose has been with Caleb, or as the brothers call him Rage.

That one I am afraid will end badly, but she won’t hear any of it when I talk with her.

Another thing that I wish I could talk to my sister about is how I’ve been feeling off lately, not just emotionally, but physically.

I’ve been really run down and nauseous. I decided that I wanted to talk to one of my siblings before I decided I should take my ass to the doctor.

I’ve chalked a lot of it up to being stressed with school, but I don’t think I can do that anymore.

I’ve gained some weight in the belly region and honestly it’s been a few months since my period.

Which in my case isn’t weird, I have never been regular.

So since Knox is out doing stuff at the mechanic shop the club owns and I don’t have any classes I decided I was going to call Sophie.

My phone rings two times before I hear it connect.

“Hey there Pey! To what do I owe this phone call?”

“Oh you know I just wanted to talk with my big sister, how’s everything going at home?”

I hear her sigh into the phone, “It’s fine. You know what I’ve dealt with, those club whore bitches don’t let me do anything without trying to tell me Toby is fucking them. It’s gotten so much worse now that they’ve got some new girls here.

Plus he still has his nasty ass receptionist also doing that as well. Telling me she has to cut out footage at the shop because Toby is so downright dirty with her. That you know he feels more alive than he is when he’s with me. That he never got to experience anyone else you know blah blah blah.

All that stupid shit that I know isn’t true because Toby has never even had a wandering eye, but it’s just so rough being constantly attacked by disgusting women wherever you go.”

“Have you told any of the brothers about what’s going on? Or even mama? Maybe she can talk to dad about it.”

“I’ve mentioned it to Toby, mentioned it to dad, mentioned it to mama. Nothing. I swear the brothers apparently care more about the free pussy they can share rather than the ol’ ladies like they are supposed to. Apparently everything was brought to the table.

The brothers voted and they gave them talking to's and made them do more bathroom cleaning. I mean glad to see that’s what I’m worth to all these men that I’ve seen as my family my entire life. Toby has said he wishes there is more he can do,

but until he’s on the council there isn’t anything he can do. It is horrible because my father is president, but he seems to not want to disrupt any balance to have my back,

then you’ve got all these men I’ve seen as uncles and they are cool with these women talking to me like that because they are ‘new’ and don’t understand the way our club works. Like you can’t take five minutes out of your day to explain rules and make sure they are followed.”

“That’s fucked up Soph, I’m sorry. After being an ol’ lady for all these years, being a wife and a daughter of a club member you shouldn’t have to deal with that and they really should do more.

I mean here they let the women be club members and the ol’ ladies here are never disrespected by the club girls. They are literally told when they come in new that if you say anything to the ol’ ladies you are out and if you go after a taken brother who is not asking for anything then you are

kicked out. They don’t put up with shit. I think that might have a lot to do with Uncle Garrett and Uncle Gavin’s mama though. How she turned out to be someone they didn’t realize she was. So they don’t put up with the lying bitches that Chaos does.

I don’t know why dad hasn’t had enough of it especially when it’s you they are targeting.”

“Yeah the more I’ve learned about the Untamed Rebels and how they treat their ol’ ladies and how they are involved in things has really made me wish we had that here too. I think dad just doesn’t want to piss off the other brothers. Which really, I’m sorry shouldn’t matter.

You’ve got bitches that think they run the club and the brothers that’s dangerous. Anyway, how are things going with Knox?”

“Great! We’ve talked about getting our own home on the compound, but we want to wait til I’m at least done with undergrad before we decide to move forward with designing a house. He made me his ol’ lady a little while ago.”

She started shrieking with excitement at that then paused. “Wait, how come no one else has told me this? Like why didn’t Park say anything? Or even mama and dad?”

“Um, well I haven’t told mama or dad and Parker is still barely speaking to me, so she wouldn’t know. It’s been really hard, but I can’t change what I did. Not that I’d want to. I wanted to explore who I was without all the other siblings everywhere.”

“Oh Peyton, that is horrible. I can’t even imagine, you and Parker have always been so close. I don’t understand a lot about her feelings about you leaving. Everyone else is so happy for you and understands why you wanted to have a fresh start there. It definitely wasn’t all about Whip.

Sometimes you just have to spread your wings to find out who you truly are.”

“Yeah well, she apparently doesn’t see it that way. I mean shit Soph, she said a lot of fucked up shit to me before she left here. Still haven’t recovered from it. Knowing that the sister you shared a womb with thinks those horrible things about you is hard. Saying that I’m easy and all that shit.

It’s horrible and I mean if she asked me to forgive her tomorrow I would, but I’d still have scars from all the venom she spewed at me.”

“You know she doesn’t really think anything horrible about you. Something is going on more than just you leaving. She’s been moodier and snippy. I don’t know, I honestly think Doc pissed her off while you guys were there.

I mean I can’t believe dad sent the two guys that the two of you have been crushing on for your entire lives with you. That just seems messy.”

“Yeah, well my crush was crushed while I was here. Hope that isn’t what happened with Parker, but she didn’t tell me anything when we were here. I don’t know. We also didn’t spend a lot of time together while she was here. She got comfortable with the cousins,

I got comfortable with the cousins and Knox. But um, there is something else I wanted to talk to you about. I have an appointment to head to the doctor here shortly.”

“Is everything okay Peyton?”

“Well I think I may be pregnant. Like months pregnant.”

“How do you not know if you are months pregnant, Peyton? I mean I know your cycle and everything has always been wacky, but I’m sure there have been other signs.”
