A couple of days passed. I was heading out when I saw Reid coming back.

He was soaked in sweat and clearly had just been for a run.

He wore a white T-shirt, which had become see-through.

I enjoyed the sight of his muscles and the thick bed of hair stretching across his wide torso.

He nodded to me and emptied the contents of his water bottle over his face.

"Good run?" I asked.

"Not too bad. What are you up to?"

"Just running some errands. How was your game the other night?"

He wore a pained look. "We lost. Couldn't get a replacement. Guess I need to make some more friends."

"I doubt you'd have any trouble with that."

A moment of silence lingered between us.

I wondered if he was going to invite me upstairs again.

Then again, with Reid, he didn't generally invite me, not with words, anyway.

There was always a look in his eyes that made things seem obvious.

However, it didn't feel right, not when I hadn't been fully honest with him.

I lowered my voice, even though we were alone. "Reid, there's something you should know. The other night was great, but ... I'm seeing someone."

"Right. That's good. You exclusive?"

I ran a hand through my hair and laughed awkwardly. "We haven't had the chance to have that conversation yet, but I think maybe I should before anything else happens."

"Always a good idea. I'd hate to get involved in a messy situation."

"I didn't think you had a problem with getting messy," I replied with a teasing smile.

He smirked and gave me a look that suggested he wanted to get messy again as soon as possible.

"I'm going to clean up. I'll catch you around. Have a word with your boyfriend. I don't mind if he doesn't."

I watched him leave, knowing that if I didn't have any scruples at all, I could have been getting hot with him in the shower, but that would have to wait.

"I'll have a word with Greg as soon as he's back," I said.

Reid paused then and looked over his shoulder. He gave me a look that I couldn't quite decipher but didn't think much of it. Reid loved giving little looks to keep me on my toes. He probably thought that I was stupid for playing by the rules in the first place.
