Wicked Daddy — 19 Book Mega Bundle
Chapter One — Alex
“Rumor is, the longest any girl has lasted is five days,” my friend Lori says.
I nod, my eyes still glued to the weirdest email I’ve read this month — hell, maybe the weirdest email I’ve read ever.
“How many girls did you say he’s tried?” I murmur, eyes still fixed on the screen.
“Twenty-nine. But come on, Alex. It’s a rumor. Don’t tell me you’re planning on being the thirtieth girl he scams.”
“But what if it isn’t?” I ask.
“Isn’t what?” Lori says.
“A rumor.”
Lori huffs, blowing a strand of straw-colored hair off her upturned nose.
“It is, though. Don’t you know that rich people hate giving away their money?” she says.
“Yeah, but if every girl gave up, he wouldn’t have to give away his money, would he?” I ask.
Lori shakes her head and sighs. “Does it matter? Either it’s all made up, or it’s a scam. Either way, those Benjamins aren’t leaving Callum’s pockets.”
“Yet,” I say.
Lori rolls her eyes. “Are you serious, Alex? Remind me to never forward you an email again, okay?”
“Remind me to tell you I told you so when I’m rolling around in my red Bentley two weeks from now.”
Lori tries to scowl, but her expression softens, and a chuckle slips out.
“You’re insane,” she says. “But I guess anyone who plays Callum’s game is.”
“Win,” I say. “I’m not going to play Callum’s game. I’m going to win his game. Big difference.”
“If you say so.” Lori rolls her eyes.
I ignore her and look back at the screen, a feeling of excitement rushing through me. I’m gonna do it, I decide, a feeling of resolve rushing through me. I’m going to be the girl to break Callum’s streak.
I’ve always loved a good challenge.
And I never lose.
