Chapter Seven — Callum

It hurt me watching her suffer like that in the cold plunge. She was so cold, her little teeth chattering, lips turning blue, but I couldn’t let her win that. Not even because of the competition, but because I needed to prove myself to her in that moment.

She was parading around with those Swedish Fish losers, and in that moment I had to show her that she could count on me. As much as it hurt to watch my little princess suffer, I had to wait for her to call it and wave the white flag.

And she did. She held out longer than I expected, to her credit, longer than any of the women. Hell, I almost felt bad for beating her. I felt like she deserved a win because of how hard she tried.

I couldn’t give it to her, though. I’ve thrown enough games. And of course, I’m not going to complain about the fact that I now have a very valid excuse to punish her for her little antics in the sauna.

And I’m going to enjoy every damn second of it.
