Chapter 57
Vesper
Veylor's gaze locked with mine, burning with intensity. In front of him, Oryx knelt on hands and knees, his impossibly long tongue coiled around Veylor's erection.
“Thought it would be you on all fours didn’t you, darling? But look at you? A shadow cock attached so you can fuck your monster, all while my shadow’s hand is between your thighs…” Veylor choked, a slurp came from Oryx’s tongue that squeezed his dick tighter. “Flicking that clit mercilessly.”
My knees buckled as heat pooled between my thighs. I could barely breathe, my chest rising and falling rapidly. "You two are wicked," I whispered, voice trembling.
These flashbacks were tortuous.
Oryx groaned as Veylor came onto the suction of Oryx’s tongue. “I need to fuck.” Oryx snarled. “Get your drenched pussy over here and stop fucking me with a damn shadow dick.”
Veylor fell back against the pillows with me sprawled across him, his sweat-slicked skin hot against mine. Though spent, his arms encircled me with surprising strength as I positioned myself on hands and knees above him. His fingers found my breasts, cupping them possessively.
“He’s in a mood, widen those legs and let him fuck you,” Veylor panted.
In one powerful motion, Oryx claimed me completely. A ragged cry escaped my lips as Veylor's hungry mouth found my breast, his teeth grazing my sensitive skin...
I groaned and slumped against the chair back. "Those replay memories are torture, Oryx. Pure torture." My fist connected with his muscled arm, but he didn't even flinch.
A deep chuckle rumbled from Oryx's chest before he scooped me effortlessly from my chair, settling me across his thighs.
Veylor wasted no time claiming my feet, drawing them into his lap with a possessive touch.
As he slipped my shoes off one by one, his thumbs pressed into my arches, working magik against my soles.
How did I get so lucky?
Veylor had insisted on an elaborate spread across the massive dining table. Crystal glasses catching the light, silver platters heaped with delicacies, and candles flickering between ornate centerpieces. All for my parents who we hadn't seen in a mere four days.
Yes, four.
Not that I didn’t try to go visit my parents, but the noises on the other side of the door were beyond feral and I was not going to go knocking on that door.
Luckily Thackery, aka dad, came out this morning, his hair all sorts of messed up and told me that mom was demanding to see me, but they were forcing her to rest until dinner.
The smirk on his face told me enough as to why.
I was excited to talk to both of my fathers too. I had my long list of questions and I was ready for my answers.
Yet here we sat, them being ten minutes late and Oryx sending replays of our nasty deeds from the past few days.
Who knew shadows could be so much fun? You don’t even need a sex shop because Veylor can just make stuff out of thin air.
Plus a tail?
I bit my lip when I heard Oryx growl.
“Now who is thinking of explicit things?” His hand ran up my dress, and Veylor gave us both an amused look.
“Can’t take either of you anywhere. Naughty things, both of you.” Veylor scooted his chair closer and pulled on the string of his trousers until we heard the door to the dining hall open.
A snort escaped me as dad strode in wearing his frostwhisperer regalia.
Crisp white fabric adorned with blue swirls dancing along the jacket's hem. Father, as Sylvaine preferred to be called now, followed by burnt orange and gold embroidery that caught the light. I attempted to rise, but Oryx and Veylor moved faster. I was in Oryx’s arms as my family approached.
Mom trailed behind my fathers. She’s shorter than me so she looked even tinier than both of the males that led her in.
They looked for any danger that could be in their way, but there is none.
Nothing but the help that has continued to stay at home despite everything that happened at the ball a week ago.
“Mom! Look who crawled out of the bedroom!” I slapped my hand over my mouth, the audacity I had to say such a thing. She just smiled back and waved her hand in front of her.
“What can I say? I’ve missed them both.” She shrugged her shoulders and came closer to give me a kiss on the cheek.
“We will spend more time together alone later, I’ll get my hugs somehow.
” She glared at my two males and then hers.
“You will have to understand bonded males are different from humans.”
I nodded, agreeing and Mom was swiftly picked up by Sylvaine and placed on his lap across the table from us.
We talked about all the things I have wanted. From how Mom even found them both, she had fallen into a fairy trap and was kidnapped by some not so nice fairies that wanted to steal her teeth and sell her human hair… to how she was rescued and fell in love.
How they survived, used magik to secure the funeral home job. As I got older Mom said the real reason she pushed me away and told me to go to school was because Dad had to put her into a coma to freeze the sickness which is now gone.
"We never doubted your return from that school," dad said, leaning forward with intensity in his eyes.
"Your connection to your mother, our kind, runs too deep.
After your mother was put to sleep, I discovered that ancient book, the one the funeral director's son had stumbled upon, I recognized it immediately.
A text from our realm, with all its portal maps carefully rendered in Latin.
I'd planned to leave it where you'd find it, knowing how you'd mastered the language.
" His mouth twisted with annoyance. "But that insufferable boy snatched it away before we could arrange for it to fall into your hands. "
Ugh, Leo.
That asshole.
The whole funeral home was put under a spell so that no one would really know what happened to her. She was just buried, no questions.
I’m glad I stayed in my mother’s place. I almost left. It was fate that I caught Leo doing those stupid spells in the woods that night, and Oryx finding me.
I was glad everything worked out.
“And everyone is good? Everyone has made up?” I looked between all three of my parents.
Father nodded. “Yes, I’ve learned not to be as hot headed as I was before. It was my punishment.” A leaf bended and twisted around his fingers.
Veylor raised a brow. “Really now?”
I nudged him and gave him a smile.
“Yes, and I will do everything in my power to communicate better. We have years to catch up and we will be sure to rebuild what we have lost.”
My stomach growled again, after all, it had been so long after dinner and tea. It was well into the night at this point.
“I say we have some of Benedict's chocolate cake. Just wait until you try it, Mom!” I clapped my hands together. “Benedict!” I yelled for him, in the direction he usually stood.
I tilted my head.
“You know, I haven’t seen him in a couple days. Gah, I’m a terrible friend.” I chuckled nervously. “Benedict?”
Oryx and Veylor stilled beneath me. Veylor cleared his throat. “Darling, Pyrrah will bring out the cake, Benedict is…”
Oryx whimpered and his tail wrapped around my leg. The cake was large as it came out, but obviously not made by Benedict. He liked to create little details on the cake, this one was more plain.
Pyrrah sat the cake on the table and began to cut the cake into slices.
“Pyrrah, where is Benedict?”
She dropped the cutting knife and stilled. “Pardon! I have such slippery fingers! How many pieces of cake?”
I wiggled in Oryx’s arms to let me go. “Pyrrah, where is Benedict?”
She looked to me and then to the two men behind me.
I ground my teeth together and a cool wind along with leaves skipped across the table. Father’s face turned pale.
“Father, you wouldn’t have something to do with this would you?”
Father pressed a napkin to his lips. “I personally have nothing to do with his disappearance.” He cleared his throat. “Might have provoked some emotions, perhaps?”
My nails tapped the table. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Oryx whimpered again, his claw tapped the side of his skull. “He… he… betrayed us. He sided with Sylvaine!” Oryx pointed across the table.
I scoffed. “What? What do you mean Benedict betrayed us, he would nev—”
“He did.” Veylor crossed his arms. “He sided with Sylvaine, got intel about who you were, every move you made in this house. When it would be the perfect time to take you, all from Benedict.”
My jaw dropped. “He did not, he wouldn’t have! Benedict is my friend!”
Veylor stood, his eyes filled with sadness. “He betrayed all of us, he wanted what Sylvaine offered and he took it with no regrets.” Veylor pulled me into his arms.
Oryx wailed, fell to his knees. “I bit off his head!”
I winced.
“Actually,” Sylvaine stood and buttoned his coat. “He was swayed more than you realize, pumpkin.”
He did not just call me pumpkin.
“What do you mean?” I wiped a tear from my cheek.
“I told Benedict if he helped me, I would tell him who his mate was, where he could find her. I also said, if he did not help me, I would make sure she would never find her...”
I gasped. “Father!”
He held up his hands in surrender. “But, my little squash, I never said I would kill her.”
I wiped my hand down my face. Meanwhile Mom laid her forehead on the table and tapped it several times until she kept it there. “Since this happened before our talk, I will let it slide. Don’t do this again, Sylvaine.”
“I am sorry, my beloved. I will never. It was only in our daughter’s best interest. Please—” Father directed his attention toward me. “My sweet pecan pie, may I please hug you, beg for your forgiveness for your friend. It is my fault, and I am sorry.”
Oryx huffed. “What is a pecan pie?” He scratched his snout.
I rounded the table and came toward my father. Thackery looked like he was about to explode with laughter. I didn’t see how any of this was funny. Benedict was dead, his head bitten off by my Oryx.
Father petted my head, “My sweet potato,…”
I grimaced. “Stop, why are you calling me weird names?”
Dad snorted and buried his face into mom’s chest.
“I am coming up with a pet name for you. Every father gives his daughter a pet name right? I am an autumn fae, so I thought something like autumn would be nice…”
“Vesper is fine. I’ve got more than enough nicknames to know what to do with. I don’t know what to answer to anymore. ‘Hey you,’ is just fine too.”
Father chuckled. “Fine.” He petted my head as I wrapped my arms around him. “Just so you know, your male can bring back Benedict, he just needs a new vessel to create and then I can tell Benedict where his mate is for all the trouble. No harm no foul.”
I rolled my eyes. Poor Benedict.
He probably peed himself.
“He did!” Oryx chirped. “And this pecan pie sounds delicious, I would very much like to taste it.”
Veylor snorted. “If that is what you wish, I will be sure to eat a whole pie so my blood is saturated in the taste.”
I groaned and rubbed my belly. “I will be most appreciative”
