Chapter 34 The Beautiful Sin

POV: Sienna

The scalding water of the rainfall shower hit us like a localized absolution, washing away the coppery evidence of Jorath Nethra’s ruin. The blood swirled into a diluted, pale pink river around our feet, spiraling down the obsidian drain until nothing remained but the raw truth between us.

Roman had stripped me of my ruined clothes with a frantic reverence, discarding the soaked, blood-stained fabric onto the slate floor.

The glacial Don was gone. Beneath the heavy cascade of the water, he pinned me against the frosted glass, his scarred chest heaving.

His hands braced on either side of my head, trapping me not in a cage, but in a sanctuary forged of his own nuclear heat.

He leaned down, burying his face in my neck. I felt the wet, heavy slide of his lips against my pulse point, followed by the sharp scrape of his teeth. It wasn't a bite meant to hurt; it was a desperate tethering.

"You gave it back," Roman murmured, his baritone voice a ragged vibration against the tiles. "You held the analog key. The door was open, Sienna. You could have let me tear the city apart searching for a ghost."

"I was never going to be a ghost," I whispered, reaching up to thread my wet fingers through his dark hair.

I tugged lightly, forcing him to meet my gaze.

The pitch-black voids of his eyes were swirling with obsession, entirely stripped of their icy defenses.

"I tried the dark without you. It was cold.

It was full of men who only wanted to siphon my blood. "

I slid my palms down his chest, tracing the slick, corded muscle and the jagged, silver scars that mapped his violent ascent to power. "I don't want their dark, Roman. I only want yours."

A shattered groan tore from his throat. He crushed his mouth down onto mine, a bruising collision that completely devoured the oxygen from my lungs.

The kiss was absolute, unhinged devotion.

He tasted like the storm, his tongue sweeping possessively against mine, claiming the territory I was willingly surrendering.

He didn't wait for the water to turn cold. Roman hooked his arms beneath my knees, lifting me effortlessly. I wrapped my legs around his waist, my wet skin sliding against his. He carried me out of the bathroom, kicking the oak door shut, and strode into the shadows of the master suite.

He laid me down in the center of the low-profile bed, the silk sheets cool against my flushed skin. He followed me down immediately, caging my body beneath his towering frame. The ambient, bruised violet light from the storm washed over us, highlighting the lethal planes of his face.

"Tell me," Roman rasped, his calloused thumb dragging roughly over my swollen lower lip. His chest hammered violently against mine. "Tell me this isn't a trauma response. Tell me you aren't just clinging to the monster who killed the wolves. Say the words, wife."

My spine arched instinctively as his hips settled heavily between my thighs. The undeniable ridge of his arousal pressed flush against my aching center, sending a blinding spike of liquid heat pooling in my stomach.

"I am not a victim, Roman," I breathed, my voice trembling with the weight of my own realization.

I reached for his left hand, lacing my fingers through his, pressing the heavy platinum crest of my ring against his knuckles.

"I am Sienna Luvaris. I accept the cage.

I accept the blood on your hands. And I accept you. "

Roman’s eyes flared, a dark, consuming fire incinerating the last shreds of his restraint.

He didn't ask again. He shifted his weight, his large hands sliding down my ribs to grip my hips with a bruising, immovable force. With a single, fluid motion, he buried himself entirely inside me.

A sharp, breathless cry tore from my throat, my nails digging into his broad shoulders.

The physical magnitude of him was overwhelming—an agonizing fullness that instantly eclipsed every rational thought.

It wasn't gentle. It wasn't the slow, reverent consummation of a traditional marriage.

It was a violent, absolute claiming, a brand seared directly into my soul.

He remained perfectly still for a fraction of a second, his jaw clenched in exquisite agony as he let my body adjust. He stared down at me, his chest heaving, watching the exact moment the initial sting melted into a suffocating wave of pleasure.

Then, he began to move.

It was a relentless, punishing rhythm. Each deep thrust pulled a fractured gasp from my lips, the sound swallowed by his scorching mouth.

The slate-grey sheets twisted around our legs, a manifestation of the chaotic pact we were forging.

My hands mapped the corded muscles of his back, pulling him deeper, demanding more of the heavy pressure.

I wanted him to shatter me. I wanted him to break me down and rebuild me entirely in his image.

"Mine," Roman snarled against my collarbone, his pace turning feral, unhinged. "My wife. My queen. My beautiful sin."

The world outside the windows dissolved into a meaningless blur of neon and rain. There was only the blistering heat of his skin, the violent friction of his hips, and the inescapable gravity of his obsession pulling me entirely into the abyss.

When the climax ripped through me, it was apocalyptic.

I arched off the mattress, a breathless sound escaping my throat as violent tremors wracked my frame.

Roman let out a final, guttural roar, driving into me one last time as he surrendered his ironclad control, spilling his seed deep into my core, sealing the corrupted vows we had whispered in the dark.

Minutes later, the only sound in the cavernous suite was the erratic, synchronized heaving of our chests.

I lay tangled against his side, my head resting over his hammering heart. The platinum ring on my finger gleamed, heavier than it had ever been. Roman’s arm was banded tightly around my waist, keeping me caged against his side, his thumb tracing possessive circles into my bare hip.

I was safe. I was finally allied with the most dangerous creature in the Vesperine District.

But as I stared at the stormy skyline, a chilling, thrilling thought settled into my veins.

Roman had burned down a warehouse to protect me tonight, but tomorrow, the syndicates would learn what happens when a Luvaris queen realizes she likes the taste of blood.
