Wife’s Divorce and Daughter’s Death
© lokepub
Prologue
Divorce had been final for a year when my ex-husband suddenly called.
His tone was harsh.
"Come collect your daughter's body. She was hit at the school corner."
He added that it was her own fault for running into traffic, that he knew the driver and had arranged compensation so the matter could end quietly.
Tears poured down my face before I could stop them. I was ready to explode.
Then my daughter's sweet voice cut through the line and pulled me back.
"Mom, is the food ready? I'm hungry."
I had forgotten I gave her the day off from school.
Who was the child that died?
