Chapter 18 The Prison Visit

Chen Yuxuan had been sentenced for intentional homicide.

I went to see him.

The moment Chen Yuxuan spotted me, his face twisted.

He grabbed the intercom phone, his roar nearly bursting my eardrums.

"You bitch! You still dare to come see me?"

I pressed the Divorce Agreement against the glass, pointing at the signature line.

He shook with fury and tore the Divorce Agreement the guard had handed him into shreds.

"Divorce? Dream on! Even if I die, I'll drag you, this venomous woman, down to hell with me!"

He pounded the glass like a madman until the guards rushed in to stop him.

I calmly pulled another copy of the Divorce Agreement from my bag and pressed it to the glass again.

"Sign it."

I said coldly.

"For the sake of our marriage, sign it and I'll get you the best lawyer."

"You'll never get rid of me!"

Veins bulged on Chen Yuxuan's forehead.

"You ruined me, left me with nothing, and now you want me to help you? I'll sue you! I'll sue you for setting me up!"

The corner of my mouth curved into a mocking smile.

"Sue me? Where's your evidence?"

I leaned closer and lowered my voice into the receiver.

"All the evidence now points to you killing Li Chengde. Murder carries the death penalty."

Chen Yuxuan's pupils shrank, his fingers turning white around the phone.

I continued softly, "But it doesn't matter. If you die, I'm a widow."

He glared at me with pure hatred.

I met his gaze without flinching.

After a long silence, he finally broke.

"You really will get me a lawyer?"

I answered firmly, "Of course. I give you my word. Chen Yuxuan, right now you have no choice but to trust me."

Chen Yuxuan looked drained of all strength. He collapsed into the chair, took the pen the guard offered with shaking hands, and signed the agreement.

He never noticed the thick stack of pages. It already stated that all marital assets, including the fully paid house and the stock account, would go to the wife.

He walked away with nothing.

After signing, Chen Yuxuan looked at me desperately.

"I signed! You said you'd get me a lawyer!"

I checked the signature carefully before raising my eyes and giving him a cold smile.

"That's right. Don't worry. I'll get you the best lawyer. The kind that can make sure you get the death penalty. You're welcome."

"Su Lin! I'll kill you, you bitch! Even as a ghost I won't let you go!!!"

His frenzied curses echoed through the receiver.

I hung up, stood, and walked away.
