Chapter 19 Chance

CHANCE

It’s been three days since I kicked Gia out, and I know not everyone is happy about it. Gia was the leader of the club girls, so I think they’re all feeling a little lost. However, I don’t give a fuck about Gia. I’m just glad she didn’t chase Kenzie off with her bullshit.

Lust is choosing another club girl to move in, but I have bigger problems right now than the men getting their dick sucked.

The Bloody Scorpions MC seemed to have moved into a property on the outskirts of town.

We have eyes on them, but I’m still wondering what the best way to handle this is.

Do I go in guns blazing? I’m hoping to be a little sneakier to get them out of our town without losing any of my men.

Not to mention, I have Kenzie to worry about now.

I have someone protecting her at all times, even when she doesn’t know it. The men have been giving me shit about whether or not I’m going to claim her officially. Do I want to? Fuck yes. Am I terrified when she finds out how it’s done here that she’s going to run? Also fuck yes.

“We have a problem,” Gunner calls out as he steps into my office at Steel. “Jack is dead, and our shipment has been stolen.”

“Bloody Scorpions?”

He nods, his onyx eyes glittering with anger. “It’s looking that way. We need to get rid of them fucking now.”

He’s right.

I just need to choose Plan A or Plan B.

One is bloody and brutal, but will get this over with sooner.

My gut is telling me to go with that one, but the only thing stopping me is Kenzie.

I’m terrified of losing her.

But if I don’t put an end to the Bloody Scorpions, and they hurt her, I will never forgive myself.

“Call the other chapters. We’re going in,” I announce, and Gunner nods. “Put the clubhouse on lockdown.”

War is coming.

I hope my relationship can survive it.

Before we go into lockdown, we agree to hold our Friday night fight night.

Kenzie is sitting on my lap, sipping on her cocktail, and chatting with Freya.

She’s wearing a white lace dress that is molded to her body, and bright red lips that I want to see staining my cock later tonight.

I can tell she still gets uncomfortable when the brothers do anything sexual in public, but she hasn’t walked out over it.

She usually tries not to look, but I see her secretly watching when she can.

And why wouldn’t she? It’s hot. Although I don’t like the idea of her seeing any man’s cock, I know that my brothers would never touch her.

If they ever made her purposely feel uncomfortable, I’d kick their asses.

There are so many reasons for us not to be with each other—the age gap, the fact that she’s a good girl, a teacher, and I’m a criminal—but we’ve been making it work.

I mean, that might have to do with the fact that she still doesn’t know about the illegal businesses we run, like the weed and guns.

She only sees the bars and the restaurants.

She sees what she wants to see, and I’m more than okay with that.

If we ever get taken in by the cops, the less she knows, the better. I never want my shit to touch her.

“Gunner is going to beat Dutch,” Freya is saying, brown eyes on the men in question. “Oh, look, my favorite show is on, they’re removing their clothes.”

“I’m surprised you’ve kept your hands to yourself with Gunner,” Kenzie comments, whispering something to Freya that makes her laugh.

“I like hanging here with you, and I don’t want to make it awkward by fucking where I chill,” she says bluntly.

“I mean, all the other women here do it.” Kenzie smirks, glancing toward me. “But I guess it is a gamble.”

“Well, you gambled and won. But I’m woman enough to admit that I’m not as accepting as you.

If I fell in love with one of these men, I’d be challenging every woman they slept with here to a fight, and you know that I’d win.

Then the single men would hate me, and it would cause a division amongst the brothers. ”

“Wow, you’ve really thought about this then,” Kenzie teases, wincing when Dutch gets Gunner with a few hits in quick succession. “A little too much.”

“Shush.” Freya smirks, tipping back the rest of her drink and placing down the empty glass.

Kenzie gets up. “I’ll go get us another round. You want anything, babe?”

“I’m okay, Siren.”

She heads over to Honey at the bar, who forgave Kenzie instantly after apologizing to her for hurting her feelings with the stray comments she caught when Kenzie yelled at Gia.

“You look at her like you love her,” Freya says, never once mincing words. “And she looks at you the same.”

“I don’t know about love,” I reply, watching as Kenzie laughs at something Honey says. “I don’t think I’ve ever been in love before.”

“Hmm.” She hums, cheering when Gunner sweeps Dutch onto the ground. “See, I know how to pick a winner.” She turns to me and taps her white-painted fingernail against her chin. “The ones that fight it usually fall the hardest.”

“You been playing with those crystals and tarot cards again?”

She laughs, tucking her blue-black hair back behind her ear. “Always. Kenzie is happier than I’ve ever seen her. I don’t think she ever planned on dating again after her ex cheated on her. You know that’s why she left Melbourne, right? She wanted a fresh start.”

“And walked straight into my bar.”

“Yeah. Ran from a suit and straight into the arms of a biker.”

“I’ll keep her safe,” I promise. “No matter what.”

Kenzie takes that moment to place a tray of drinks down and sit back in my lap. “Where’s Cash tonight? Gone to another party?”

Pressing a kiss to her temple, I nod. “Yeah, he had plans with his friends. And as soon as we get out of here, I have plans for you.”

“What do you have in mind?” she asks breathily.

“I’m going to get down on my knees, push you back against the wall, lift your legs over my shoulders, and eat that sweet cunt until you come all over my face,” I whisper to her. “And then I’m going to fuck you all night long. I missed you last night, and now we’re going to make up for it.”

“Fuck,” she pants, leaning forward and picking up her drink. “I’m going to finish my drink, and then let’s get the hell out of here.”

She says something quietly to Freya, who shakes her head in amusement.

“You’re a lucky bitch, you know that?”

Kenzie looks down at me. “Every day.”
