Chapter 10 Hunting Season

Chapter ten

Hunting Season

Asher

Glancing at the clock I see it’s almost time for Riley’s shift to end. I take out my phone and shoot a text to Peyton.

Me:

I got off early. I’ll scoop up our girl.

Little Dove:

Alrighty. See you soon. xox

Switching over to Riley’s thread, I notice our chat is green. That’s weird. What the fuck?

Me:

Hey baby. I got off early. I’ll be in the parking lot waiting for you.

Placing my phone in the cup holder, I turn up the music and head to the theater.

I really thought today’s job was going to be longer then anticipated but the mother fucker were after disappeared like a ghost leaving nothing but dust in his wake.

We’ve been searching for months and we keep coming up empty.

I’m not sure what the fuck we’re missing or how he keeps getting by us but it’s starting to get irritating.

Former Senator Dalton Callaghan is like a roach you can’t fucking kill.

Everytime we get close he vanishes. It’s like he knows we’re coming and is ten steps ahead of us. Fucking stupid!

Pulling into the parking lot of the theater, I pick up my phone to see if she wrote back. She didn’t. It doesn’t even say it’s delivered. What the fuck? Maybe she doesn’t have service inside and that’s the problem.

Checking the time, I see she has a few minutes left then I’ll go inside to get her.

I don’t want her to leave the building and think Peyton forgot about her.

That’s the last thing I ever want her to feel.

Riley’s back story is sad and I know it’s done some emotional and mental damage to her.

I fucking hate it for her. So knowing what she went through, me and Peyton make sure she feels how much we love her and want her with us.

We show her everyday how much she means to us.

Words are words but actions speak volumes and she is truly the center of our world.

I love that girl so goddamn much. I’m pretty sure I loved her since the moment I laid eyes on her and Peyton…

welll the moment my dick sank into her—there was no escaping me even if we are step siblings.

I didn’t give a shit. That girl matches my energy and her tight cunt is a perfect fit.

I’m so thankful that I get both of them and that they love each other just as much.

A smile spreads across my face seeing that Riley’s shift is over.

Shutting off my car, I grab my phone and get out.

Walking to the front of the building I swing the door open and am immediately greeted with the smell of fresh buttered popcorn and Mark smiling at me.

“Yo bro, where’s my girl at?” I ask, putting my fist out for him to bump.

“Yo Ash,” he bumps back then finishes filling the bucket with popcorn. “I told her to vacuum theater five but that was like over an hour or so ago,” He shrugs and I nod.

“Thanks bro. I’ll go find her.” I tell him then head past Burt at the ticket booth who nods at me.

Making a left, I see the utility closet door open and smile.

“Boo!” I yell, thinking I’m going to scare the shit out of her but she’s not in here.

The vacuum is here but she's not. What the fuck? I look back where I came from then the opposite way and there’s no one in sight.

Maybe she’s in the theater? Walking a few feet from the closet I open the door to theater five but don't see her.

“Riley! You in here baby?” I yell, my voice echoing through the empty space.

Where the fuck is she? Taking out my phone, I text her again

Me:

Baby where you at? I'm here to take you home.

But it's still green and not delivered. Something is wrong! I run back out the theater and head back to mark as I dial for Peyton, bringing the phone to my ear.

“Hey you on your way?” She answers.

“Something's wrong babe. I can't find her! Text her phone! My messages won’t deliver!” I growl.

“What do you mean you can't find her! Fuck Ash its green for me too!” She yells. Fuck!

“Stay on the line!” I tell her as I get back to the concession stand.

“Mark, she's not back there! You didn't see her leave or anything?” I ask and his eyes widen, shaking his head. “Anyone suspicious come in today?"

“Na its been slow as fuck.” He answers and my jaw clenches. “Cameras? Do they work?”

“Yeah, let's go in the back and see if we can spot her. It's not like her to leave without saying bye to me.” He informs me and I nod as we walk to the security room.

“Peyton, track her phone.” I order.

“Opening the program,” she responds as Mark opens the door and we step inside.

“It's bouncing all over the place. What the fuck!” she yells down the line.

“What the fuck is right!” I fire back as Mark, rewinds the footage to when he left her. We watch as she disappears into the theater then comes back out and into the closet.

“Wait. Right there!” I point out when I see a hooded figure shove her then carry her out the exit door.

“Mark, who came in here today. There's no way a masked man just waltzes in here unnoticed.” I growl but he doesn’t say anything.

His hands shake as he moves through the footage.

“There’s something you’re not telling me.

How much did he pay you? I’ll fucking double that! ” I spit but he shakes his head.

“I can’t. He will come after me!” He says, fear laced in his tone. I slam my fist against the desk causing him to jump. Then I bend down and get close to the side of his face.

“If you don’t tell me who took her…” I trail off, taking my knife from its sheath and press the blade against his rapidly beating artery.

“I will fucking kill you right here right now. All I have to do is flick my wrist and you will bleed out all over this office. Now give me a fucking name!” I threaten.

“I-it was J-jake Ra-Radley,” He confesses and I remove my blade from his throat and slam the handle against his temple knocking him out. I place the knife back in my holder and leave the room.

“You heard that Little Dove. Jake has her. We need to find the location now!” I growl.

“I swear if he hurts her I’m going to kill him myself.” She spits.

“Oh, he’s dead and doesn’t even know it. Keep searching. I’ll be home in a few. It’s time to go hunting.” I grin and hang up the phone.

First stop. The warehouse. It looks like I’m going to need some tools.
