Thank you for your letter. I am flattered that you thought to ask for my opinion on this sighting.

I am sorry to say that this appears not to be a hybridization but simply a male juvenile ruby-throated with his eponymous feathers beginning to emerge.

It is certainly an interesting pattern though (and you have captured the bird in such impressive detail!).
