Chapter Fifteen – Colt

Colt

I stepped out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror.

I didn’t get much sleep the night before because today was the day I was going to talk to my parents about Grady’s room.

After I got home from Vivianne and Ladd’s house last night, I texted Ensley and told her that I wanted to talk to them as soon as possible before I changed my mind. So, today was the day.

I sighed as I closed my eyes and took in a few moments of silence.

I could hear the windchimes in the tree out front, which my mother had hung just the other day.

They used to hang outside my childhood bedroom window.

I’d made one comment about how much I missed hearing them, and the next thing I knew, they were in the tree out front of the little cabin where I was staying.

Opening my eyes once again, I gave a firm head nod to my reflection. Ensley would be calling soon, and just knowing that she’d be with me made me breathe a bit easier.

As I dried myself, a knock on the cabin door had me turning to look out the bathroom door and through the small living room. Frowning, I picked up my watch and saw it was only seven in the morning. Ensley planned on coming over around nine.

I wrapped the towel around my waist and headed to the door, pulling back the blue-and-white checkered curtain my mother had hung, and smiled when I saw Ensley standing there. I had no idea why she was so early, but I wasn’t about to complain.

I unlocked the deadbolt and swung the door open just as she turned. Her eyes widened as they slowly traveled down my nearly naked body, then back up to meet my amused gaze. When she swallowed hard, I couldn’t help but tease her.

“Like what you see?” I asked with a wink.

“Liking your body was never a problem, Colt Owens.”

I laughed as I motioned her to come in. “What brings you by so early? I thought we said nine.”

She walked in, took off her coat, and handed it to me. I hung it up as she tossed her purse onto the sofa and started to pace the small living room.

“We did, but I couldn’t sleep last night, and then I woke up earlier than usual.

I was going to work out, but then I thought I should just come straight over so we can figure out what we want—or what you want—to say to your parents.

Then, once I got here, I thought maybe I should have worked out after all, because I feel as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Had I worked out, maybe all this nervous energy would be gone.

Plus, you clearly weren’t ready for company, given the fact you’re only wearing a towel. ”

I stared at her as she wrung her hands together and continued to pace.

“I mean, are you nervous? I don’t know why I am.” She rolled her eyes. “No, I do know why, it’s just— Why aren’t you saying anything?”

“Because you’ve been talking nonstop since you walked in.”

She stopped and dropped her hands to her sides. “Oh, sorry about that.”

“For the record, I am nervous. And you probably should have gone to work out.”

Lifting a brow, she said, “Are you saying I need to work out?”

A bark of laughter slipped free. “No, Pippa, I’m not saying that at all. But now we’re here, alone, and I want nothing more than to kiss you.”

She held up both hands. “Oh no. You’re dressed in a towel, Colt.”

I shrugged. “So.”

“So?” she asked with a laugh. “It’s been months since I’ve been with a man, and seeing you…”

She swept her hands up and down the length of my body.

“Seeing me?” I prompted.

“Well, it makes me a bit…”

I fought to keep the smile off my face. “A bit?”

“Stop doing that, Colt!”

“Doing what?” I asked with a laugh. “You’re the one not finishing your sentences.”

“Because I can’t think with you standing there naked!”

Glancing down, I said, “I’m not naked.”

“You might as well be. How can a girl even think with all that muscle on display? And that V thing you’ve got going on. It’s just pointing to your dick, which, I might add, I remember very well. My body’s humming right now, and…well…I can’t think straight!”

“I should go get dressed then.”

Ensley bit her lower lip.

“Or…” I let the word hang in the air.

Clearing her throat, Ensley asked, “Or what?”

With what I hoped was a wicked smile on my face, I replied, “I could help take away some of your nervousness.”

Her tongue swept across her lips as she stared at me. “How?”

I made my way closer and stopped just inches shy of her. “You said no sex.”

“On the first date. I don’t think this is a date.”

“No,” I purred. “It’s not a date.” Lifting my hand, I ran a finger down the side of her face. “We could do other things.”

Her breathing increased, and her voice sounded breathy as she asked, “What kinds of things?”

Taking her hand in mine, I walked her to the bedroom.

“Colt,” she warned.

“I promise, no sex.” Pointing to the chair in the corner, I said, “Sit down.”

Ensley bounced her eyes from the chair to me and back. She finally walked over and sat down.

I let my eyes drink her in. She was wearing sweatpants and a long-sleeved T-shirt that said: “Buy Me Books and Tell Me I’m Pretty.” Her blonde hair was pulled up in a ponytail, and she wore just the lightest bit of makeup. Ensley had always been so naturally beautiful.

“You wore the perfect thing for what I have planned.”

She gripped the arms of the chair as she raised one eyebrow. She was trying to play it cool, but I could see how heavily she was breathing. “What exactly do you have planned?”

My hands slid up her legs. “Do you want me to tell you or surprise you?”

Her mouth opened, but when I grabbed her sweats and yanked them down, she laughed. I pulled off her sneakers and tossed them to the side, then finished removing her sweats.

Reaching up, I pulled off her shirt and dropped it to the side.

God, she was so gorgeous. Her body was curvier than the nineteen-year-old Ensley’s had been.

Every soft, sexy inch filled my hands perfectly as I let them explore every part of her.

He blue eyes turned dark when I ran my thumb over her lace-covered nipple.

Leaning in, I sucked it through the fabric and nearly came on the spot when Ensley moaned in pleasure. Sitting back on my heels, I drew in a deep breath.

“You’re so beautiful.”

Her tongue swept across her lips as I let my hands move softly over her thighs.

I ran my hands back up her legs, then spread them open, causing her to let out a soft gasp.

She wore pink lacy panties, and it was all I could do not to grab her and toss her onto my bed.

Instead, I whispered, “Lift your hips, Pip,” as I slowly drew her panties down.

I set them aside before taking one of her legs and putting it over the arm of the chair.

I repeated the same thing with her other leg.

Then I sat back and stared at her. She was clean-shaven—and she looked fucking delicious.

“God, you’re so fucking perfect. The number of nights I dreamed about doing this to you, I can’t even begin to tell you.”

“Colt,” she whispered, as she shifted in the seat. “If you make me beg…”

Smiling, I kissed the inside of her thigh. “Never would I make you beg.”

“Then do something!”

“I see some things never change, like how you lack patience.”

Moving slowly up her thigh, I blew softly on her clit.

“If you don’t do something soon, Colt, I’m going to take matters into my own hands.”

The second I buried my face between her legs, she cried out and slid her fingers into my hair.

She tasted like heaven. Better than any dream I could ever have. It didn’t take long before she was crying out my name as she came.

“Stop! Colt, stop!” she begged, pushing me away when I would have continued. Her head fell back, and she drew in long, deep breaths. “Oh my God! That felt amazing.”

Smiling, I sat back and ran a hand through my hair. I hadn’t done that to another woman since…well…since Ensley.

When she lifted her head and met my smile with one of her own, she bit her lip again. God, how I wanted to push right into her and lose myself. Lord knows I was hard as a rock.

“I’m glad to see I haven’t lost my touch when it comes to oral.”

Her eyes searched my face.

“I haven’t done that since that last time with you, in the barn.”

A wide smile broke out over her face. “I haven’t either. I remember that night. I screamed your name so loud, the horses all started to go crazy.”

I chuckled.

She chewed on her lip and let her eyes move down my body. The towel had long since dropped, and my hard erection was on display. “Do you need a little something?”

“The only thing I wanted was for you to feel good.”

She leaned forward. “But—”

“But nothing, Pip. That was for you. I’m good.”

Her eyes watched my every move as I stood, adjusted the towel back around my waist and said, “I’m going to go get dressed.”

“Colt?”

Turning, I watched as she stood and walked toward me. “Yeah?”

“You didn’t have to do that.”

I cupped her face in my hands. “I wanted to, Ensley. And I know you feel like you have to do something in return, but that’s not what this is. I wanted to make you feel relaxed. Are you relaxed?”

She laughed. “I’m very relaxed.”

Kissing the tip of her nose, I replied, “Good. Then you get dressed, and I’ll get dressed, before we both lose control.”

She nodded.

“Make yourself at home. I have some freshly squeezed orange juice if you want some.”

“Did you make it?”

“Mom did,” I called out, as I moved into the bathroom and shut the door, but not all the way.

I could hear Ensley moving about in my kitchen.

It did something to me, knowing she was here, in my place.

A part of me wanted to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

I was just glad I hadn’t lost it like a teenage boy when she started to come.

I nearly had, yet somehow managed to rein it in.

After getting dressed, I walked out and saw Ensley standing at the back door looking out. I walked up behind her and let my eyes search for what she was looking at.

“What is it?” I asked.
