SNOW FALLS IN A steady, lazy drift outside Ken and Jen’s house, blanketing their large backyard and creating the kind of picture-perfect backdrop that Lila loves. Inside, it’s warm chaos wrapped in twinkling lights and the unmistakable aroma of sugar cookies.
The Walkers came to town to spend Christmas with their kids, and the Harpers were kind enough to invite us all over. I could feel like the odd man out, but spending holidays with the Walkers feels more familiar than with my own family. Plus, the Walkers and the Harpers have a way of making you feel like you belong, like their home and their traditions have space for one more.
