Chapter 11
He knew how much Victoria loved Henry.
Even though he only came home once a week, it was obvious. Whenever Henry was around, her focus was solely on him, and she went out of her way to care for him. No matter how impatient Henry got, she pretended not to notice and continued to hover around him.
Sometimes, Jude found it annoying. He couldn't help but think Henry was impressive for tolerating such a tiresome woman.
Jude couldn't stand it, so he came home once a week.
But now, Victoria claimed she didn't like Henry anymore. He didn't buy it for a second!
After a moment of silence, Jude continued, "If you're planning to do something and threaten Dad with divorce, I'd advise you to stop it. He'll be furious."
Jennifer shot Victoria a cold look. "Are you pulling some sort of stunt?"
Victoria just found it amusing. Jude was so young; how could he even have such an idea? She cast a frosty glance at Jennifer, convinced she was behind this.
Deep down, Victoria felt regret for not insisting on keeping Jude by her side. But the thought was fleeting. It didn't matter anymore.
Jude's personality was set, and she didn't think she could change that.
"Just tell me if you agree or not," Victoria said calmly.
"As long as Dad agrees, that's fine," Jude replied, implying that his approval hinged on Henry's.
Victoria tightened her grip on the handrail at his response. As expected, they were all eager for her to leave.
Victoria smiled. "Alright, I'll divorce him as soon as possible, and then you can ask him to find you a mother you actually like."
With that, she strode towards the door.
Jennifer watched Victoria's retreating figure with an ambiguous expression.
"Grandma, do you think she'll really divorce Dad?" Jude asked.
Jennifer looked at him, her expression softening. "No. She's a scheming woman. She played tricks to marry your father. How would she willingly leave? I suspect her amnesia is just an act.'
A look of disgust crossed Jude's face at his mother's behavior. He didn't like her one bit. He preferred Sarah; to him, she was a graceful dancer, kind to him, and never preached. Plus, his dad liked her, too.
After leaving the Harrison Villa, Victoria messaged Henry: [Jude said if you agree to the divorce, he will too, so let's go ahead and get divorced tomorrow!]
She then hailed a taxi and left.
When Henry saw the message, he was at the Lumina Club, where his friends had gathered in the private room. He sat at the head of the table, with Sarah next to him, smiling. "I just got back from abroad, but Barrett insisted on throwing a welcome party. It's quite embarrassing."
Henry took out his phone and replied, "He has the money, so let him. Just enjoy yourself."
When he read Victoria's message, his expression darkened. Sarah noticed and paused before asking, "Henry, why didn't you bring Victoria tonight? I haven't seen her for a long time."
Henry replied coolly, "We're getting a divorce. Why would I bring her?"
Sarah felt a thrill of excitement at the thought of their divorce-did that mean he was considering her?
She quickly suppressed her glee and frowned. "But if you divorce, what about Jude? He's still so young and needs a mother."
Henry pocketed his phone without responding, then stood up to drink with Barrett and the others.
Sarah felt disappointed but quickly reassured herself. He said they were divorcing, which meant her chance was finally here. This time, she was determined to seize the opportunity.
After a night of drinking, Barrett Lynch took a drunken Henry back to Rose Villa, laid him on the couch, and shouted, "Victoria, come take care of your husband!"
When no one responded, Barrett grew puzzled and walked around the living room. "Henry, where's Victoria?" Henry remained sprawled on the couch, unconscious.
Barrett didn't dwell on it; Victoria had always been the one to look after Henry. He left without a second thought.
The living room returned to silence. A while later, Henry frowned and mumbled, "Victoria, I want lemonade," tugging at his collar as if he were uncomfortable.
After a long wait with no one giving him lemonade or a gentle head massage, Henry's eyes snapped open. The room was empty, with no trace of Victoria.
A servant heard the voice and came over, rubbing her eyes. "Mr. Harrison, what do you need?"
"Get out!" Henry roared, suddenly furious, before storming out of Rose Villa. The servant was taken aback, her face going pale, unsure of what she had done to provoke him.
For Edward's birthday party, Diana had hired a styling team to get Victoria ready.
As she sat in the chair, Victoria checked her phone repeatedly, her brow furrowed.
"What's wrong?" Diana asked, curious.
"I texted him about the divorce, but he hasn't replied" Victoria replied.
Diana suggested, "Then just file for divorce."
Victoria remained silent. The Hardwick and Harrison families were intertwined through an alliance marriage; it wouldn't be easy to separate. If possible, she wanted to part ways amicably.
After finishing her makeup, Victoria looked up and asked, "Do you still have the voice-changing pills you used before?"
Diana handed her one. "Take it before you enter the venue. It lasts for five hours."
"Okay." Victoria nodded.
With a smile, she put on the golden butterfly mask that had become Ms. Aroma's signature look since she first appeared publicly five years ago. Once everything was ready, they headed to Edward's birthday banquet at the hotel.
A long red carpet stretched alongside the road, luxury cars arriving one after another, and the guests attending were all elegantly dressed and of high social standing.
As Victoria and Diana stepped out of the car, the receptionist's demeanor shifted to one of increased respect.
"Ms. Aroma, you're finally here. Sir Caldwell has been waiting for you. Please come with me."
Victoria nodded and followed the receptionist.
Just then, another car pulled up, and a distinguished man emerged. He was tall and muscular, with an attractive face. His striking eyes held a hint of coldness, giving off an air of aloofness.
His gaze fell on the woman in front, and he frowned slightly, finding her somewhat familiar. Her slender, graceful silhouette reminded him of Victoria. Victoria had a good figure and curves. When in bed, he liked her to lie on her stomach.
Henry paused for a moment, then strode toward her.
