Chapter 50

The atmosphere in the room grew tense. Victoria's vision started to blur, the world spinning around her. She pinched her thigh hard to stay sober, forcing herself to hold on. But as the seconds ticked by, Henry remained silent.

Victoria thought, "What does he mean by this?."

"If you take off your mask, I'll agree to your proposal" Just as Victoria felt her consciousness slipping under the influence of the alcohol, Henry's voice broke the silence. His tone was deep lats, and tinged with a cold edge.

Victoria's body trembled at his words. The lower half of her face, unhidden by the mark, was already flushed red. She pressed her lips, her gate hay. "Mr. Harrison, I've already apologised, and I've shown my sincerity. Do you really have to push your back like this?"

Her words shared slightly as she swayed on her feet, struggling to stay upright. "You're the one with issues, not me. If you don't want to cooperate, that's your problem. I... I'm tired. I'm going home to sleep"

Victoria clumsily grabbed the fragrance product from the table, stuffed it into her bag, and staggered toward the door.

After taking a couple of unsteady steps, something occurred to her. She turned back to look at Jayce.

"Mr. Caldwell, you're such a nice guy. I'll remember your kindness.

Then Victoria felt everything around her was swaying.

Henry and Jayce silently watched as Victoria fumbled around, needing several tries before she finally found the door. Henry glanced at Jayce. "Was that a compliment or an insult?" It didn't sound like a compliment. Jayce remained silent.

Henry chuckled, "Looks like that bottle of vodka didn't teach her a lesson."

Jayce finally spoke up. "Henry, don't you think you're taking this a bit far? You're the one who needs her help."

Henry stood up, his expression calm. "So what?" His tone wast light, but his words were dripping with arrogance.

He thought, "Indeed, my insomnia is severe, and indeed, I need. Ms. Aroma's fragrance products. But so what? I'd already given her an opportunity. If she couldn't see the opportunity and keeps provoking me, then she has no one but herself to blame for my ruthlessness."

Jayce frowned but didn't respond, sinking into silence once again. Henry didn't linger. He opened the door and left. Delia hesitated before speaking, "Mr. Caldwell, Mrs. Harrison seems pretty drunk. It could be dangerous for her to go home alone in that state."

"Oh." Jayce's response was devoid of emotion. Without another word, he walked off.

Victoria stumbled into the elevator and pressed the button. But when the elevator doors opened, a group of drunken men stumbled out, supporting each other.

Their gazes fell on Victoria. One of them, with a sleazy grin, looked her up and down.

"Well, a pretty lady all by herself. What's with the mask? Playing some cosplay? I've got plenty of props back at my place. Wanna come play with me, sweetheart?" he spoke as he reached out toward her.

Victoria, clinging to the last shred of her sobriety, immediately stepped back. But the spinning world around her made it impossible to stay balanced. She stumbled, collapsing against the wall behind her.

The men surrounded her instantly. "Don't be shy, sweetheart," one of them sneered. "We'll make sure you have the time of your life tonight. Come on, let's go." They grabbed her arm, tugging her toward one of the private rooms, their intentions all too clear.

"Get off..." Victoria muttered, her voice weak and powerless. She didn't have the strength to break free from their grip.

"What's going on here?" A low, magnetic voice suddenly broke through the tension. Victoria's hazy mind jolted awake. It was Henry.
