Chapter 106
She leaned over and picked up the plate of steak, ready to take it away.
But the next second, her hands were empty. The plate was snatched away. She looked at Henry with a frown.
Henry said grimly, "It's mine."
After saying that, he turned around and strode away.
Victoria , "..." She clumsily rolled her eyes.
Was he insane?
Victoria went into the kitchen, brought out another plate of steak and started eating it. She hadn't been fed properly and was starving dead.
The plate was eaten up quickly.
Victoria took out a tissue to wipe the corner of her mouth. Just as she was about to stand up, Henry's voice came, "Don't let anything like this happen again."
Victoria glanced at him and said, "I can't guarantee that. After all, I'm young and beautiful, and there are too many men to covet me."
Henry looked at her with cold eyes, and the plate in his hand was empty.
Victoria looked at him fearlessly, her tone calm, "Henry, don't you think you have too much control over me now? Remember when I had just had a car accident? You said indifferently that we were friends, but I actually liked you like that."
After saying that, she took the plate and put it in the dishwasher, and went upstairs.
Henry clenched his hands. His knuckles turned slightly white, and the veins on the back of his hands stood out. His face was extremely cold.
The desire to control her?
Oh!
She had a beautiful thought.
Now that she was bearing the title of Mrs. Harrison, she must not do anything that would damage the reputation of the Harrison family. And this was the most basic thing.
As for the rest, he didn't want to delve into it.
He had only one goal, which was to wait for her to recover her memory and return to his past peaceful life.
Emma and Jude were taken out for dinner by Robert. It was already dark when they came back.
As soon as Emma entered the house, she looked for Victoria. Seeing Henry sitting on the sofa in the living room, she was a little scared but still asked, "Hello, Mr. Harrison, is Ms. Victoria back?"
"Yeah." Henry responded coldly and then asked, "Why don't you go to school?"
Emma answered obediently, "My mother hasn't completed the enrollment procedures for me yet."
She had only come to Lanceser within a month. Evie was very busy, so she could only enroll Emma in school after she returned from this business trip.
Henry stared at Emma with hi eyes, "Do you want to go to school?"
Emma nodded, "Yes."
Henry said, "You go to school with Jude tomorrow and take a day to adapt first."
Emma was at a loss, blinked her big eyes, and asked doubtfully, "The same school?"
"Yep."
"I don't want to go there." Emma shook his head immediately.
Henry's eyes turned cold for a moment, and he said, "If you don't go with him, you won't be able to see your Ms. Victoria anymore".
Emma became upset immediately, "Why?"
As a little girl, she couldn't understand if there was any necessary connection.
Henry said, "If you follow her all day, she has to take care of you. She can not concentrate on her business anymore".
"I don't ask Ms. Victoria to take care of me. I won't disturb her work. I'm indeed a good girl." Emma said immediately.
His eyebrows frowned. He thought, "Why is this little girl so difficult to deal with? I have to talk to Victoria about this. But now she is very sharp–tongued, and I will be angry whenever I talk to her."
He pinched his brow and said, "If you don't go to the same school with Jude, I will send you to your mother now."
"Alright." Emma said in a low voice, thinking Henry was so scary.
When Victoria finished organizing the photos from today, two hours had already passed.
She opened the door and immediately heard voices from downstairs. Rushing to the railing, she leaned over to look down and saw Emma. Her eyes lit up.
"Sweetheart."
As soon as she spoke, everyone downstairs looked up.
"Emma, you are back!"
Emma quickly ran up the stairs, rushing to hug her leg.
"What is wrong?"
Victoria immediately bent down to check on Emma, worry clearly showing on her face.
Emma pouted, "Ms. Victoria, you promised to sleep with me tonight."
"Of course. Let's head to our room." Victoria said in a warm smile, gently taking Mabel's hand.
Once in the room, Emma's face darkened. She shared what had happened earlier.
Then, with wide eyes, she nervously asked, "Ms. Victoria, that uncle is so scary. How did you have a baby with him?"
Victoria was stunned with her words.
She immediately shifted the topic. "Do you feel like going to kindergarten?"
Emma replied, "Can I have a choice?"
Victoria nodded and said, "Sure, I will talk to him."
"Never mind, I think I do want to go," Emma said with determination. "He is so scary, but I can deal with him!"
Victoria could not help but laugh, cupping her face and planting a kiss on her cheek. "How are you so adorable, Emma?"
Emma lifted her head proudly. "Right? I am super adorable!"
"Hahaha..."
Laughter echoed upstairs, while downstairs, all was quiet.
That "sweetheart" had stirred excitement in Jude and Henry, but it was all for nothing.
Jude pressed his lips together. He thought, "When has she ever call me "sweetheart" with such tenderness?"
He turned to Henry. "Dad, I want Mom to read me bedtime stories."
Henry shot him a cold glance. "Did you already ask someone else to do that?"
Jude stiffened. "But I think I prefer Mom to read me story than Ms. Miller."
Henry replied, "That was your choice."
Jude felt desperate. He thought, "Why is Dad not on my side?"
Henry got up and headed toward the stairs.
Jude quickly followed him. "Dad, I do not want Ms. Miller. I want Mom."
Henry remained silent until they reached the master bedroom. Then, he spoke abruptly. "Jude, do you think the choice is yours to make?"
"What...do you mean?" After hearing his words, Jude froze.
Henry looked down at him. "The choice was never yours to make. It has always been hers. Mom chooses you, and that is when she will be gentle and smile. If she does not, no matter how hard you try, she will not even give you a second glance."
The harsh truth hit Jude, and his heart could not take it. He stood frozen, feeling stunned.
"Dad...". He trembled, not knowing what to say. Confusion and helplessness filled him completely.
Henry said softly. "Go work hard to make her choose you."
With that, he entered the master bedroom and shut the door.
Jude felt completely bewildered. He thought, "Why does Mom have to choose me? Should not the choice always be mine? Whoever I picks should be the one to be my mom."
