Chapter 130
Victoria was puzzled, asking, "What are you doing?"
Evie smiled, "Nothing. She gave me a candy."
Emma nodded pitifully, saying, "Yes. I gave my mother a candy."
Victoria was still puzzled, thinking, "They don't look like that."
Sitting in the car, she asked, "Sweetheart, what do you want to eat?"
Emma raised her hand excitedly and said, "Barbecue."
Evie also raised her hand, saying, "Me, too."
Victoria was amused by them and nodded. "Okay, let's have a barbecue. Give Diana a call, and let's eat together."
At night, the barbecue restaurant was filled with aromas, and the small, modest one was filled with people.
Diana arrived and found the food they ordered had already been served. Emma handed her a skewer of beef with a smile, saying, "You're late. I'll punish you to eat one skewer of beef first."
Hearing that, Diana said with a pitiful look, "Can this kind of punishment be given more often?"
"Of course." Emma nodded, saying, "Eat whatever you want. It's my mom's treat today."
Evie helplessly supported her forehead.
Rubbing Emma's cheek, Diana looked at Evie, asking, "Are you done with everything?"
"Well, the supplier is stable now. I won't have to run around for a long time in the future," said Evie, nodding.
Victoria pondered for a moment and told them what had happened today.
Diana asked, "Are you deciding to regain your memory little by little?"
"Wow, we two are so in tune with each other," said Victoria, widening her eyes slightly and looking at Diana in surprise.
Diana analyzed rationally, saying, "Because he threw in the bait, you can't possibly hold back, and all you can do for now is recover slowly."
Evie sighed, "I'm speechless. He doesn't love you. Why doesn't he want to divorce? Does he want to keep two women in and out of the house at the same time?"
Diana said, "Well, maybe he just got used to having her around. After all, she is a good wife and a good mother."
Victoria didn't know what to say for a moment.
Evie nodded immediately, saying, "Yes, she's right. After getting married, you can't even care about your good friends but only focus on your husband who doesn't love you and your son who isn't close to you."
"You're hurting me," said Victoria expressionlessly.
Evie spread her hands. "This is the truth. You should learn from me. I have a daughter and money, living carefree and comfortable. It's especially awesome."
Emma echoed, "Yeah awesome."
Evie immediately picked up a skewer of meat and stuffed it into her mouth. "Just eat it."
Propping her chin up, Victoria nodded. "Okay. I'll learn from you."
"Diana." Just then, an excited voice was heard. A person walked over quickly and pulled out the chair next to Diana, then sat down.
Barrett said in excitement, "Diana, do you like the barbecue here? I like it, too. We are destined to be together. Let's come here often to eat together, okay?"
His appearance was so sudden that no one at the table reacted.
Diana frowned, dodging to the side, and asked, "What's wrong. with you?"
Barrett chuckled, "I saw you, so I came in to say hello. I'll treat you to this meal. Just enjoy yourselves."
He looked up and saw Victoria, smiling, "Good evening, Victoria. I won't disturb you and your friends. But I have to clarify one thing with you. I didn't call Sarah last night. I only called you."
Victoria looked at him with no expression. Barrell was like a time bomb, and his smiling face made her want to get rid of him.
Barrett shrank his neck. "Victoria, I'm scared by your look. Don't worry. Diana is here. I won't say nonsense."
Just then, his cell phone rang. He took it out and checked it, raising his eyebrows. "It's Henry calling."
"Hello, Henry. What's wrong?" asked Barrett, winking at Diana. However, Diana looked indifferent and didn't even look at him.
"What? Did you see me? Do you want to eat it too? No, wait a minute." Barrett stood up and looked outside. Sure enough, a black Rolls–Royce Phantom parked across the street.
Hearing that, Diana immediately looked up at Barrett, and Victoria became nervous.
Evie glanced across the street and nodded at them, saying, "It is indeed that bastard."
"Henry, please wait a moment. There are no seats here. Let's eat somewhere else. I'm coming out now," said Barrett quickly and hung up the phone.
He then looked at Diana pleasingly. "Is my reaction fast?"
Diana said, "You should leave now."
Leaning over and staring at her, Barrett said, "Diana, my friend has run a private cinema and has just finished decorating it. How about going to experience it together tomorrow? We can give him some advice."
Victoria frowned, but Diana nodded, saying, "Okay."
Barrell widened his smile and looked very proud. If he had a tail, it would have turned into a propeller by now.
"Okay. I'll pick you up then." With that, he turned to leave.
Seeing him leave, Victoria immediately asked, "Diana, it's not what I thought, right?"
Diana used a fork to move the meat from the skewers into the plate and said calmly, "My family is urging me to get married. I'm testing him. If he's okay, I'll marry him and live with him."
Victoria held her hand. "Please don't do anything stupid for me. I've told Henry enough lies. It doesn't matter if he finds out one or two of them. He won't kill me and just won't divorce me easily."
She was a little anxious, continuing, "Don't get along with him against your will just to hide the secret."
Victoria thought, "If that's the case, I'll blame myself till I die."
Diana sighed helplessly, "I'm serious. Your thing is just a coincidence."
"Really?" Victoria looked at her expression carefully, trying to find some clues.
Diana said frankly, "Yes."
Hearing that, Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.
Crossing the road, Barrett opened the car door and got in, asking, "Henry, why are you here?"
Henry's eyes kept falling on the barbecue restaurant, which was brightly lit and crowded with people. He seemed to have just seen a familiar figure.
He asked, "Is there no seat?"
"Yes." Barrett nodded, saying, "Let me know in advance if you want to come next time. I'll make a reservation. Don't be fooled by its shabby look. It's very popular."
Henry retracted his gaze. "Buy it out tomorrow and keep it closed for outsiders."
Barrett was stunned and laughed, "Henry, you are really good at joking. I'll treat you to something else. You look terrible. What happened?"
Looking at him, Henry said, "I'll give you a task."
"Okay, go ahead." Barrett's expression turned serious.
The light in the car was dim, and Henry's handsome face was shrouded in the darkness. His eyes were so profound that it was impossible to see through his emotions.
He said, "I want you to look into what happened five years ago when I was drugged, starting with the Hardwick family."
Barrett raised his eyebrows in surprise. "It's been so long. Do you still mind?"
He thought, "Their son is already that old, and Victoria has done a good job. Even if she made a mistake, so many years have passed. He shouldn't mind it, right?"
