Chapter 193

Pete, Sebastian, and Evie all hurried to catch up.

Evie frowned. "Where are you taking Victoria?"

"Henry, let go of my sister!" Sebastian glared at him coldly.

Pete spoke up, "You've been nothing but cruel to her, so why don't you just let go?"

As they spoke, the group had already reached the elevator.

The people in the banquet hall, unaware of what was happening, turned their attention toward them, whispering among themselves.

Barrett immediately went up the stage and spoke up, "Alright, alright, a huge thank you to everyone for coming to Vika's studio opening today. On her behalf, I raise a glass to all of you. Enjoy the food and drinks!"

The heir of the Lynch family had enough influence, and everyone quickly picked up their glasses.

Gideon sat in his seat, casually pushing up his gold–rimmed glasses. After Barrett finished the toast and sat down, Gideon slowly said, "If he doesn't face reality, their relationship will only become more complicated, filled with hurt. In the end, they'll both end up with nothing but wounds."

Barrett was confused and said, "What reality are you talking about? All I see is you constantly stabbing him in the back. Don't bring your doctor habits into your personal life, alright? Be careful. Henry might get angry with you."

Gideon looked at him speechlessly. "Are you a fool?"

Barrett was displeased. "What's that supposed to mean? Personal attack? Are you playing dirty?"

Gideon rolled his eyes and was speechless.

Inside the elevator, Henry tightly gripped Victoria's hand, his face dark as he glanced at the people who followed them in. "Have you been so free and have gotten nothing better to do?"

Evie eyed him warily. "Where are you taking Victoria? I warn you, don't hurt her!"

Sebastian furrowed his brows. "Henry, you've already hurt her so many times for Sarah. What exactly do you want to do?"

Meanwhile, Pete just looked at Victoria and reassured her. "Don't be scared. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Victoria's mind was a mess, and the familiar ringtone kept ringing, giving her a headache.

When the elevator doors opened, Henry immediately led her out and into the car. Only then did he answer the phone and put it on speaker.

Soon, Sarah's crying voice came through. "Henry, it hurts so much. Please come quickly. I'm hurt..."

Victoria slightly lowered her gaze, and a hint of mockery flashed in her eyes.

Henry furrowed his brows. "How did it happen?"

"Please come quickly, Henry. I'm really in so much pain..." Sarah didn't explain anything, only crying incessantly.

He glanced at Victoria, then replied flatly, "Alright, where are you?"

"I'm at Hardwick Villa," Sarah quickly said. "Henry, I'll wait for you."

The call ended.

Henry instructed the driver to start the car, heading toward Hardwick Villa.

But Victoria's voice turned cold. "I want to get out."

He responded indifferently, "Not happening."

"Hah!" Victoria sneered. "Henry, she's playing the helpless little girl, asking for comfort. Why should I go there? To watch you two flaunt your love? Five years of marriage, and I haven't done anything to wrong you, yet why are you treating me like this?"

"Victoria, are you jealous?" Henry looked at her face, now tinged with cold sarcasm, and suddenly asked.

Victoria rolled her eyes. "I'm not jealous. I just feel disgusted."

The man wasn't angered. Instead, he just chuckled softly and replied, "There's no flaunting of love. Never has been."

At his words, her long lashes fluttered. She pressed her lips together, not wanting to argue with him anymore.

He acted as if he hadn't been the one who had once dated Sarah.

Sebastian, Pete, and Evie got into another car and kept following closely behind them.

Evie's brows were furrowed tightly. "What on earth is this jerk trying to do?"

Sebastian said, "This is the way back to Hardwick Villa."

Upon hearing that, Evie sneered, "Is it because no one attended Sarah's family reunion banquet, and she felt embarrassed? That's why she gets Henry to rush back to support her. Why is this woman so annoying?"

"But Henry is such a jerk. How can he go just like that? Tomorrow, the news headline will be 'On the day of Mrs. Harrison's opening, Mr. Harrison went to support his ex–girlfriend's family reunion banquet'. Damn, it's really ironic."

Sebastian glanced at her and said, "Calm down a bit. I think something's off here."

Evie shot back. "What's off about it? Didn't Sarah just call him back? What? Are you defending him now? Aren't you supposed to care about Vicky the most? Don't just talk the talk! Show some action!"

Sebastian felt helpless. Evie was clearly upset, and anyone who spoke to her would get a verbal barrage. So, he chose to stay silent.

Pete's expression darkened as he asked, "Why doesn't Henry agree to the divorce?"

Evie, clearly irritated, replied, "How would I know? I'm not a worm in his stomach."

Pete lowered his gaze and didn't say anything further.

The car was approaching the entrance of Hardwick Villa when Henry glanced in the rearview mirror and noticed the car following them.

He said, "Victoria, stay away from Pete. He's not as simple as he looks."

Victoria coldly replied, "None of your business."

As soon as she finished speaking, the car stopped. She reached for the door handle, intending to get out.

But Henry grabbed her hand. His deep eyes locked onto hers. "You don't care about me, but do you not care about Jude? Do you have any idea how dangerous it was on the road that day?"

Victoria looked at him. "If you have evidence proving he's the one behind everything, then call the police and get him arrested instead of slandering him here and trying to drive a wedge between him and me."

She paused, then gave a mocking smile. "Besides, this isn't the first time you've said something like this. Every time a man comes near me, you warn me. Henry, your possessiveness is so strong. But I don't want it. I don't like it. I refuse!"

Looking into her clear eyes, which were filled with firm resolve and cold indifference, Henry's expression darkened.

Her rejection was evident in so many ways.

He slowly released her hand, his face now expressionless.

Victoria pushed open the car door and got out.

Evie immediately rushed over and looked her up and down. "What happened? Did he bully you?"

Victoria shook her head. "No."

Sebastian walked up to Henry, his voice low and serious. "What is your point by doing this?"
